The day is over.
Take a deep breath and just release it.
Whatever did or did not happen,
Let it all go with an open mouth sigh.
Close your eyes and take a few more rounds of breath,
Extending your exhales.
Feel your breath as it slows and fills you.
Feel yourself coming into this very moment,
This time at the end of the day in your bed.
Tomorrow is another day.
It isn't here yet.
It isn't now.
Now is your time to sleep.
It is okay to take this time to rest your whole body.
Relax.
And maybe take a few moments just to stretch a little bit,
To let go of any tension or tightness.
You might extend your legs long,
Point and flex your feet,
Or move your head slowly side to side.
Open and close your hands or circle your wrists.
You might offer yourself some soothing comfort.
Maybe gently wrap your arms around your body and hold yourself close.
Hold yourself tenderly.
And if it feels right,
Maybe even rock just a little bit.
Just gently moving side to side,
Allowing yourself to feel your own support,
Your own care.
Just letting yourself feel relaxed and cared for,
Preparing for sleep.
And as you do,
Be reminded that you are enough,
That you are lovable just for yourself,
And that you are loved.
That's true whether you just had the worst day or the best day.
So as you're slowing down,
Really allow yourself to take that in.
That just for yourself,
Not because you did anything or did not do anything,
You are lovable and you are loved.
Let everything soften.
Just imagine yourself melting into the mattress.
Letting yourself let go of everything else.
And having some awareness,
Feeling all the places where your body is in touch with the bed.
Or with any covers that you might have,
Or with your pillow.
Rest your mind,
Tomorrow is another day.
Right now you get to just stay with now and let tomorrow be tomorrow.
Let your thoughts quiet.
Make yourself comfortable.
And as you slip into sleep,
Know that you are worthy of every good thing.
Rest is essential.
So sleep now.
Move yourself over to sweet,
Deep,
Restful sleep.
May you greet the new day with wisdom,
Strength,
And self-compassion.
May you know peace.
Sleep well.
