Breathwork Meditation For Self Empowerment And Confidence

This is an intense breathwork session followed by a short meditation designed to help you navigate and discover your own self-confidence and empowerment. We do three rounds of breathwork, followed by a 5-minute meditation to integrate what arose for you during the breathwork.

My name is Laurel and I will be guiding you in this breathwork and meditation session.

Please lie down in a comfortable position and place your arms on each side of your body with palms open and facing upward.

This will place you in receptive mode.

The palms of the hands receive and emit energy and by facing our open palms upwards we are welcoming universal energy and knowing.

We begin every breathwork or meditation session with a full body scan.

The body stores information in the form of feelings,

Emotions,

Sensations,

And pains.

Doing a full body scan prior to meditation allows us to identify where in our body stored emotions may be and to communicate with the parts of us that are holding on to past events or experiences.

These pains and sensations we experience in our bodies often have a story behind them,

But until we offer the parts the opportunity to speak,

We will often remain limited and controlled by them without even knowing it.

As you lie down with your arms to your sides,

Palms open upward,

Allow your body to fully settle into relaxation.

Begin to gather your awareness at the very top of your head.

Allow your awareness to slowly scan your body from the top of your head down to your eyebrows,

Eyes,

Nose,

Mouth,

And chin.

Then continue to settle into relaxation as you scan your neck,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

And pelvis.

Continue to allow your awareness like a warm soft glow to move further down your body,

Down your thighs,

Your knees,

Your legs,

And ending at your feet.

Notice any areas that you feel any sensations at all.

You may feel pain or discomfort in a part of your body.

If you do,

Breathe into that area as if your breath carries the healing energy of the universe.

Allow your awareness to connect with the discomfort or pain and acknowledge its presence.

Let it know you are aware of it and that you will be back shortly to comfort it and hear what it may have to say.

Now that we have done a full body scan and identified any potential emotions or sensations anywhere in our body,

We are ready to begin breathing.

As you breathe,

Remember that your body's nervous system is affected by oxygen levels in the body.

Remember that it is impossible to breathe too much or to do yourself harm.

Reminding yourself of this will help maintain calm if you begin to feel strange or uncomfortable.

It is perfectly normal for you to feel a tingling sensation or to feel temperature fluctuations which give the impression that something is wrong.

This is simply your body,

Organs,

And brain responding to a sudden increase in oxygen,

And it will pass.

But remember also that these altered feelings in the body as a result of this breathwork session are exactly what we use to enter an altered state of consciousness where great healing and growth can occur.

The greatest opportunity for change that a person can experience is a changed perspective.

Breathwork such as this puts us into a state where we can gain new perspectives on existing knowledge and experience.

New perspectives can completely change the way we show up in the world.

A changed perspective can cause you to immediately feel different in your body about an event because the narrative you had been carrying and judging yourself from can evolve into something that carries an entirely different meaning.

Pay attention to the emotions,

Feelings,

And sensations in your body as we proceed.

If any strong emotions come up,

Allow them to be expressed.

You are in a safe space.

This breathwork session is designed to help you to find your confidence in the world.

Our confidence is often trapped under feelings of self-hatred,

Self-disgust,

Self-doubt,

Etc.

By using this breathwork session and the increased oxygen flow to your organs,

Brain,

And body,

We can identify a lot of these self-limiting feelings and beliefs and unburden and walk away from them.

We will do a breathing session followed by a breath hold and then more breathing followed by another hold.

We will do this three times.

After the third time we will return our breathing to normal and I will stop talking and we will continue to go inward as we meditate for five minutes.

While I'm guiding you,

Try to trust yourself to keep up.

You will likely feel as if you are going to pass out or may feel a sense of unease that may make you want to slow your breath.

You may even tell yourself that others can do this but that your lungs won't support such breathing.

Please try to push through the discomfort for it is in the surrender that this practice brings the greatest benefit.

However,

There is no shame in taking this at your own pace and if you need to slow your breath,

Please do so.

Right now,

Your brain,

Body,

Organs,

And nervous system are saturated with oxygen.

In this moment,

As you hold your breath,

You are fully one with all.

You are a beautiful,

Intelligent,

And powerful being that deserves to take up space just the same as any other human being.

The simple fact that you were born means that you are a divine representation of life.

As a living being,

You get the incredible experience of being entirely unique.

There is only one of you in the entire universe.

You are one of a kind.

Your light shines with its own brilliant rainbow of colors that is finely tuned to the unique frequency that is you.

There is no other person on this planet that possesses the same unique and individual way of perceiving things that you do.

This gives you power.

This uniqueness of personality is all you need to feel confident in showing up in the world.

You have a right,

Simply for existing,

To walk with confidence and love for self and others.

You are worthy of love.

You are worthy to give love.

You are worthy to show up in the world unapologetically as your confident,

Empowered self.

Now,

Breathe in and return your breath to normal for a moment as we prepare to go again.

This world appears to have certain expectations of us.

Normalcy comes from a false idea that we as humans should conform to some sort of base standard.

When we self-govern based on these perceived expectations and feel the need to conform to what the world seems to want from us,

We crush our true nature and identity.

We may adapt ourselves to what we perceive the world wants from us in order to feel normal and accepted.

In doing so,

We place ourselves inside of a box that limits our ability to truly feel and express who we are.

The longer we remain in that box attempting to conform to what we think we are expected to be,

The more rigid in our feeling of inadequacy we will become.

This can cause us to feel uneasy in the world,

Or we may feel a lack of confidence in showing up as ourselves.

I want you to use this opportunity right now while your system is saturated with oxygen to reprogram those feelings in your body that are trying to tell you to stay small.

Gain a new perspective as to what the feelings in your body are saying.

Learn to embrace the amazing,

Powerful,

Intelligent being that you truly are.

Okay,

We are going to do one more round of breath work,

And I want you to visualize and embody the feeling of showing up in the world exactly in the ways that you desire.

Why are you here?

What is it that you hope to gain from this experience?

While your brain is in this oxygen saturated state,

This is the time to reprogram limiting thoughts and beliefs.

This is the time when your brain has an increased ability to make neuro connections and to make sense of and gain new perspectives of past events.

As you hold your breath and lie down,

Paying attention to any thoughts or feelings that come over you,

Use this opportunity to ask your body what it has to tell you.

Ask the various feelings,

Pains,

Or sensations you have identified in your body what it is that they want you to know.

The answers often come as sudden thoughts or images in the mind.

Don't try too hard right now to make sense of what those images or thoughts mean.

Okay,

Now breathe in and return your breath to normal.

In a moment,

I will stop talking and will allow you the next five minutes to meditate.

This is the time for you to integrate whatever may have come up for you during this breathwork session.

Perhaps you had strong emotions come up,

And now is your opportunity to contemplate what those strong emotions were trying to tell you or what their meaning is.

Perhaps you had repressed memories arise that you now want to make more sense of.

This is your time to go completely inward as you focus on your third eye and allow the thoughts to come.

Try not to attach to any thoughts.

Watch your thoughts show up as if they are images that gently float past you.

Let them go as you remain in this state of contemplation and meditation.

In five minutes,

I will come back and we will bring this breathwork meditation session to an end.

Now,

Slowly begin to bring your awareness back into your body.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes as you take in a deep breath and let it go.
