Hello and welcome to this guided journey towards relaxation and calm.
Start by finding a comfortable position,
Laying down on your back,
Keep your legs gently apart,
Adjust your clothes and your body.
Then wherever you are,
Take a deep breath in.
During this practice,
You will go through four different brainwave patterns.
And as we drift in or drift off to the subconscious mind,
You will experience tether brainwaves.
And as we reach the end of this journey and we reconnect to the unconscious mind,
You will experience delta brainwave patterns.
The four states of consciousness that you will experience are deep sleep,
The dreaming state,
The yoga nidra state.
It will start by becoming aware,
Listening without labeling,
Observing the symphony of the universe.
We explore the silence in between the sounds.
We allow our awareness to transition to all that we can feel,
Your body and the surface you're resting on.
In today's modern world,
We accumulate and store stress and tension in our body.
So to help release and to flush out that stress,
We will do an exercise known as active release.
So at the top of an inhalation,
We'll squeeze the body parts that I mentioned.
And as we exhale,
We will release that active tension.
We will start at our feet.
Exhale,
Release.
Squeezing at the top.
Exhale,
Release.
Exhale,
Release.
Moving our awareness up into our face.
Squeezing all the muscles in the face.
And exhale,
Release.
Last and final one.
Every single muscle in the body.
In and exhale,
Release.
Allow yourself to sink a little bit deeper in.
And if you find a place with tension,
Pause there and breathe into this place to deepen our awareness of our pranic body.
To feel the body part that I mentioned.
So without looking at it,
Feel your second finger and feel the current of electricity traveling from soul to palm.
Observe if the air flows more freely from one nostril.
Inhale through your left nostril.
Exhale through your left.
Now allow your breath to guide you from 27 to 1 as I count us down.
Become aware of this deep nervous system massage.
And it's reaping the benefits of deep sleep.
And inhale 27,
Belly rises.
Exhale 27,
Belly falls.
Inhale 26,
Belly rises.
Exhale 26,
Belly falls.
Inhale 25,
Belly rises.
Exhale 25,
Belly falls.
Exhale 24,
Belly falls.
Inhale 23,
Belly rises.
Exhale 23,
Belly falls.
Exhale 22,
Belly falls.
Inhale 21,
Belly rises.
Exhale 18,
Belly falls.
Inhale 17,
Belly rises.
Exhale 17,
Belly falls.
Exhale 15,
Belly falls.
Continue this count till we reach 1.
And if you lose your count,
Gently start over at 27.
Darkness behind your closed eyes.
Yogananda famously asked,
What lies beyond the darkness of closed eyes?
In the yogic tradition,
This space is known as Shikasha.
And it's believed that when one gazes long enough into this space,
Your subconscious mind will start projecting colors and patterns.
The darkness expands as far as the eyes can see.
An infinite plane.
Imagine the pictures that I mentioned.
Endless ocean.
See the circle of life.
And as always,
Stay blessed by the breath.
