Your amazing body has been working hard for you all day,

Hasn't it?

It's been having all sorts of adventures and exploring and spending time meeting other people and doing work and playing Now it's time to say thank you and good night to all the parts of your body and your being So that all of you can get a really lovely night's sleep Be ready and fresh for more adventures tomorrow.

How does that sound?

Okay,

Let's go First of all,

Are you comfortable?

It's fine while you're saying good night to all parts of your body.

We're gonna go around One at a time.

It's fine to wriggle It's fine to toss and turn if you want to you don't have to be still But make sure you're comfortable and begin to feel that you're winding down Like a wind-up toy Winds down when its battery begins to run out.

What does winding down Feeling feel like inside your body Can your body make a winding down shape?

Or movement can your breathing Have a winding down rhythm What happens when you take a really big breath in and your belly fills up and Then you let it out super slowly Like you're letting that big breath in wind out of your body Wending its way.

Let's try that again Slowly take a big breath in that fills your belly and your chest and Then slowly let that breath out Like it's a stream running super slowly and lazily and leisurely down a mountainside Can you do that slow unwinding breathing three more times?

That's really good.

Well done.

And now you can just let your breath be its natural self But it might feel like it's still winding down nicely and that's cool What happens now if you take one of your hands and put it over your chest where your heart is?

Do you know where your heart is?

And your other hand resting on top of your belly.

I know you know that And your other hand resting on top of your belly.

I know you know where your belly is What happens when you do that can you feel Your breath moving inside your body when you do that Because you can feel as you breathe in that your hands lift up a bit as your body pushes against them because it's filling up and then when you breathe out Your hands go down and you can feel also that you're connecting to you The you inside your body The you that lives and explores works plays and dreams Inside your body.

Can you say hello now?

To the you that lives inside you and say thank you for the day you've had And now we're ready to say good night And thank you To the different parts of your body Let's start with our feet and toes Can you give your feet your toes some kind of a wriggle or sparkle?

You might Wriggle your separate toes Or you might bring your toes up more towards you And your heels away from you.

So you get a bit of a stretch there in your feet Or you might roll your ankles around one way and then The other what have your feet been doing for you?

Today where have they been walking?

Running climbing Resting and remember how well your feet have held up your body today as well And how they've enjoyed touching the ground And how the earth has enjoyed the touch of your feet feet on it Say thank you to your feet They've done such a good job today And then relaxing your feet and your toes completely because It's time for them to sleep say good night feet Good night toes Good night heel and ankles And then to your legs.

What have your legs been doing for you today?

Running playing moving forwards moving backwards Moving in the directions North south east and west Your legs taking you to the places you want to go Your legs moving you away from the places.

You don't want to be And your legs are strong and your legs are strong And your legs are strong and your legs are good Maybe you can touch If you can reach your legs,

And if you can't give them some kind of movement to say hello now It can feel sometimes really good To place your palms on your thighs the palms of your hands and move them slowly down towards your knees And then back up towards you Now say to your legs.

You've done a good job for me today I'm,

So glad I have you Thank you And now legs you can have a big rest Because i'll need you working well tomorrow Good night legs And now move up to your belly and you've got your hand there so you can really feel your belly You can even bring your other hand there too And rest both your hands on your belly if that's comfy you don't have to Your belly Has been great for you today It's been digesting your food Which means it's been bringing nourishment to you so that you can be lively and play and work So many wonderful things happen inside your belly It's a real source of life Have you noticed what happens in your belly when you feel happy?

When you feel excited is there a feeling in your belly?

When you feel glad When you feel peaceful and safe How does it feel in your belly?

When you feel all safe and peaceful and relaxed So this place has felt a lot of things today hasn't it your belly?

And now your belly can have a good rest so say thank you to your belly for doing all that feeling And for doing all that digesting and nourishing Maybe you can remember some of the yummy things you ate today that you particularly Loved in your belly Thank you belly And good night belly Can you move up now to your chest where your heart is?

Well,

This is a magical place,

Isn't it?

This is where your lungs fill with air and breathe and send all the energy to your body This is where your heart beats and you live inside your heartbeat because When you first came Into your mummy's tummy The first part of you was your beating heart This is the you that is exactly you and nobody else So now you can feel all the energy and nobody else So this is a big place to thank your chest It takes in all the breath of life That gives you energy to do all the things you love to do And keeps you well and healthy And your chest is the home of your beautiful wonderful heart Think of the people you love and who love you How does your heart feel?

When you think of someone who loves you who you love back a lot Does it get warmer?

Or bigger?

Is there a glowy feeling in there?

Does it get lighter?

Or fuller?

What does it feel like to you in your heart?

Inside your chest?

When you're thinking of someone who loves you so much And you love back It's time to say Thank you and good night To your heart With all its love and kindness With all its love and kindness With its longings And dreams And with all its creativity All the things that you have done today That come from your own heart The pictures you've drawn The words you've said The games you've played The dreams you've had Thank you heart And thank you lungs Good night And now for your arms And your shoulders of course At the top of your arms All the way down to your wrists and your hands You may feel too peaceful to do this But if you've still got a little of the wriggles in you You can shake out Your arms and your hands Or you can just Softly touch your fingers To your thumb And give them a gentle little rub Or slowly Open and close Your hands Like the petals Of a daisy Opening in the day And closing in the night And closing in the night Did you know that daisies Close their petals at night While they rest And when the sun shines again In the morning They open up We can slowly make that opening And closing shape The daisy makes With our hands And it can feel good Your arms have reached out For so many wonderful things today They've reached out To help people They've reached out To say hello to people When you wave at people When you hug your family Or your friends Or pat and stroke your pets They've created things Maybe you've made things today Or painted things Dug things Your hands help you when you're climbing When you're doing sport Or gymnastics And your hands hold your own body too And help you feel safe Or relaxed Like when you put your hands On your tummy Or your legs or your chest When you're settling down Your arms and your hands Might be hugging a soft toy tonight When you go to bed They bring things closer to you That you want and you love And you care for And they also make things in the world Hands and arms are wonderful things Say thank you To your wonderful Hands and arms And let your shoulders drop Now it's time to say Goodnight shoulders Arms wrists Hands fingers Thank you And goodnight And now saying Goodnight And thank you To your throat Where your voice is Where you've been talking Where you've been singing Where the air you breathe goes Trickling down toward your lungs Where you swallow When you're eating delicious food And drinking your water That throat's been working super hard too today So that you have the best life Thank you throat Goodnight throat Your body's beginning to rest now But let's not forget Your head and your face The nicest way we can thank Our beautiful heads Which think our thoughts And dream our dreams Imagine things And have ideas And give us things to get curious about And nice things to think about Is to let them relax So imagine Your face Could soften Like butter that's been left out in the sunshine The muscles on your skin On your face Can melt and spread out You're softening your eyebrows And you're softening The backs of your ears You're softening your ears And your nose And the backs of your ears You're softening your eyelids down Your cheekbones Are letting go And your lips Are now your jaw Softening and letting go And the feeling That your brain Just floats back To the space at the back of your head And the whole of the back of your head Can relax Down Dropping its weight And you're all melty And spacious And soft And feeling just with your Imagination and your mind Down the back of your body Your spine All letting the back of your body Completely release And drop its weight To the earth And saying thank you Thank you head Thank you face Thank you ears that hear And my eyes that see My nose that smells My mouth that tastes And my jaw and my cheekbones That can spread into a smile And thank you Whole body Thank you to my mind My thoughts,

My imagination You can rest now Thank you To my whole body And you're unwinding And every part of you has had its Good night And do you know how glad all these parts Of your body are to be coming back Together again To rest And how happy it makes them that you Said thank you And good night to them Imagine your body Now saying to you Thank you Good night Go to sleep now and rest And when you wake up in the morning You'll be all refreshed Good night Good night Good night
