Repeat this a few times allowing each breath to help you relax deeper into your space.
Now bring your awareness to your heart center,
Imagine a warm gentle light emanating from this area,
Softly glowing with each heartbeat.
Let's call this your gratitude light.
With each breath you take,
Visualize this light growing brighter and larger,
Filling every part of your body with its warm and soothing glow.
And once you feel this warm light surrounding you,
Bring to mind a moment,
A person,
A thing or an experience for which you are deeply grateful.
And as this image or thought materializes in your mind,
Notice the sensations that arise within you,
It could be a sense of warmth,
A lifting feeling in your chest,
A gentle smile or a surge of love.
Allow yourself to fully embrace and experience these feelings.
Imagine this feeling as you permit another moment of gratitude to surface in your mind,
It could be a different person,
A memory,
An accomplishment or even a challenge that led to growth.
And once again,
Observe the feelings that accompany this thought,
Let the sensation of gratitude wash over you,
Warming you from the inside out and nourishing your gratitude light.
Continue this process,
Allowing each new moment of gratitude to add to the warmth and light within you.
And if your mind begins to wander,
Gently guide it back to your gratitude light and the current moment of gratitude.
Spend some time basking in this state of gratitude,
Letting each memory or thought add to the radiant light within you.
Feel the sense of peace,
Of joy and contentment that gratitude brings.
Now it's time to share this positive energy with the world,
Visualize your gratitude light growing even larger and brighter,
Extending beyond your body,
Filling the room you're in.
Let it expand further,
Reaching out to your entire home and then your neighborhood.
Imagine this light extending to your city,
Spreading warmth and gratitude to each and every person.
Let it grow further,
Encompassing your country,
Then your continent.
And finally,
Envision this gratitude light enveloping the whole world,
Touching every being on this planet,
Filling them with the same warmth and gratitude you're feeling.
Take a few moments to visualize this light of gratitude connecting you with everyone in the world.
Feel the sense of unity,
Of peace and shared joy that this visualization brings.
Once you feel complete with this practice,
Start to bring your awareness back to your body.
Notice any changes in how you feel,
Both physically and emotionally.
And remember that you can return to this state of gratitude at any time,
Simply by focusing on your gratitude light within you.
Take one final deep breath,
And as you exhale,
Imagine your gratitude light gently receding,
Returning to its home in your heart,
Ready to be called upon again.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes and take a moment to adjust to your surroundings and remember to carry this sense of gratitude with you as you move through the rest of your day.
This practice of gratitude can be a powerful tool in cultivating a positive mindset and a greater appreciation for life.
