This is a short meditation that is going to be focused on bringing calmness,
Stillness and peace,
And sending love and healing and gratitude and compassion to ourselves and to anyone we are currently holding in our minds or our memories who may benefit from receiving this also.
So all you need to do is to find a comfortable position with a relatively straight spine,
Or you can lie down if you would prefer,
And close your eyes,
With your eyes closed now.
Bring attention to your breath and your breathing.
Allow your breath to gently begin to slow your mind,
Allow your breath to slow your thoughts,
Allow your breath to gently bring a sense of softness to your body,
Softness to your limbs,
Softness to your head and your face.
Your breath gently begins to bring a softening to your feet and to your legs,
Your torso,
Your arms,
Your neck and your face,
Allowing any tightening or tense or painful areas of your body to gently begin to soften,
To gently quieten.
Being gentle with yourself and any intrusive thoughts,
Observing your inner world and your mind,
Just observing like the clouds that go by in the sky,
Being gentle with that observing,
And soft,
Soft with your breath and with your noticing.
And come in maybe to know and to notice that you are the awareness behind your mind,
You are the awareness behind your thoughts.
Allow yourself to breathe fully,
Maybe a small sigh,
Continuing to soften any remaining tense parts of your body.
You can even imagine softening and relaxing your skeleton,
Your bones,
Your nerves,
Your muscles,
Your fascia.
Just noticing if you can just soften just a little bit more,
Just a little bit more.
Letting your breathing fall into a natural rhythm,
A rhythm that works for you in this moment,
One which relaxes you in this moment,
One which helps you to find that quiet centre,
Space of stillness,
Space of rest,
That space of compassion within yourself.
Noticing that quiet centre and that space.
And now let that space grow bigger and bigger and even bigger until it overtakes your thoughts and your mind.
And now maybe you get a sense that you are that stillness and that space and that rest,
That gentleness and that softness.
And it's from this space that we can call in healing and love and compassion and truth,
A deep knowing and understanding of who we are,
Of the love that we are.
And it's from this space now that with intention and with purpose,
A gentle intention and purpose that we can draw in unconditional love.
Unconditional love into our hearts,
Into our bodies.
Unconditional love into our breath.
Unconditional love into our minds.
We can also send it out into the world,
That anyone we sense or feel would benefit from this love and this compassion.
Either people we know,
People we used to know,
People who are no longer with us,
People that we don't know at all.
We can share this love and this healing across oceans,
Across time,
Across space.
Knowing that whatever love we give,
We also receive.
Giving and receiving are one and the same.
So see if you can take a moment now to experience this sense of love,
This sense of love in your mind.
Maybe this sense of compassion,
Which by sharing with others,
We're also sharing with ourselves.
So that we are resting in love.
We are resting in compassion.
We are breathing gently into this love.
We are breathing gently into this compassion.
And allowing ourselves now to feel any warmth,
Any lightness,
Any tingles,
Any expansion,
Any opening of the heart,
Any opening of the crown chakra,
Any softening into the chair,
Or into the couch,
Or into the bed.
And just basking,
Allowing yourself to bask,
To bathe,
To be nourished in this special,
Unconditional love.
Unconditional healing.
Unconditional compassion.
And we can stay here for a while,
Allow ourselves to receive this,
To give and to receive this.
For a few more breaths,
A few more inhales,
A few more exhales.
And then in your own time,
You can start to bring your senses back to your limbs,
Into your body,
To the physical space that you're in.
You can start to wiggle your toes,
Move your feet,
Move your hands.
You can take a nice,
Full,
Wholesome breath,
And come back to your physical space.
This time and space.
And in your own time,
You can open your eyes gently.
You can take any movements or stretches which your body needs.
And then you can return to your day,
Or your evening,
And you can come back to this heart-opening meditation any time that you need to.
