For the next few minutes,
I'll guide you in a happiness meditation.
Begin by taking a few grounding breaths,
Allowing your breath to come and go with ease.
In through your nose and out of your mouth.
Go ahead and get more comfortable in your seat,
Allowing yourself to find ease,
Relaxing your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet.
If they aren't already closed,
Gently close your eyes.
As you continue to follow your breath in and out,
Bring awareness to your heart.
If you are able,
Place both hands over the middle of your chest and feel your heartbeat.
Allow it to rest there as your breath expands and retracts,
As you feel your heart beating,
As your body relaxes,
As your mind finds ease,
You are here in this moment.
Be present.
Bring a smile to your face and feel how your body reacts as you smile.
Allow that smile to grow a little wider.
Consider this quote,
Happiness is a direction,
Not a place.
Happiness is a direction,
Not a place.
Often times,
People will say,
I'll be happy when.
How many different ways have you convinced yourself that happiness is around the corner,
Down the road,
And if you can just keep chugging,
You'll get there.
Happiness is right now.
Happiness is right now.
Allow yourself to feel that.
Allow yourself to believe that.
Allow yourself to trust that.
Happiness is right now,
If you choose.
Take a deep breath in and allow it to release out through the mouth.
Once again,
Deep breath in and out through the mouth.
In your mind,
Or out loud,
Repeat,
I am happy.
Again,
I am happy.
One more time,
I am happy.
Let your hands rest beside you,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
