Hello,
Dear one.
When I was young,
I didn't have a lot of people in my life reflecting that I was okay exactly as I was.
But I longed to know that.
As I began a meditation practice,
I began to experience myself as something much faster than I was conditioned previously to perceive myself to be.
This fastness is inherently empty and inherently whole at the same time.
You are empty and whole at the same time.
This meditation explores the nuance of being uniquely you and simultaneously part of something that's not unique.
Meaning,
This meditation explores being able to feel yourself as uniquely you while recognizing that you aren't divided.
You are whole.
Your very being is shared.
And in a way,
Is empty of the kind of uniqueness that comes with the view of division.
Picture for a moment a daffodil.
Beautiful yellow flower.
That has a very unique,
Special shape to it.
Now picture a purple iris.
A different flower.
Very uniquely distinct from a daffodil.
Yet,
Not only are both these flowers.
Flowers.
They both thrive with the same sun.
They draw nutrients from the same soil.
They grow,
Bloom.
Wither and die the same.
The same life force animates the iris and the daffodil.
Feel yourself now as one precious,
Unique,
Beautiful flower.
You turn to the same light as your neighbor for sustenance.
You ground in the same soil.
You are animated by the same life force as everyone and everything around you.
So the largest sense of you is shared.
This life force,
The aliveness of being,
Is shared.
This aliveness of being is you.
And the uniqueness of you is also true.
If we go back to two flowers that can't exist without life force.
You and your neighbor.
Don't take form.
Don't have shape.
Without the aliveness of being,
The uniqueness of you takes shape in the wholeness of you.
So you can appreciate the wholeness.
And you can appreciate the uniqueness.
All these different flowers here to be treasured and loved.
You and everyone here to be treasured and loved.
The love we're speaking of here isn't a conditional love.
It's not a love based on your performance or your behavior.
One way that Rupert Spira talks about love is that love is the recognition of shared being.
So love is here now as we recognize the uniqueness of our personalities and our various ways of moving through the world.
All of it deserving of love.
All of it made of love.
Consider a puppy for a moment.
If you're someone who enjoys puppies,
You likely love it simply because it is,
Not because it behaves in a particular way.
That's how your very being is.
Your very being loves unconditionally.
Because your very being is love.
