Our Qabbalistic tradition teaches us that before the beginning all there was was infinite divine light.
Everything in perfect unity.
And because the divine is perfect light and perfect love there was a desire to share that love.
Because as you know from your own life experience love seeks another.
Love seeks connection.
Love seeks to share.
And so from this infinite desire of the Holy One an empty space was created within this infinitude.
Similar to how a woman creates a space within herself for new life to blossom.
Where you create a space within your heart for relationship with another person.
A space within your home to let other people in.
And so within this halal panui a space was created for the finite.
For you and for me.
So that something new could emerge.
A receiving of love that comes through growth.
Through the overcoming of challenges.
And such growth can only happen when darkness exists and when darkness must be overcome through choosing light.
And you precious one when you choose love over fear when you choose light over darkness you are choosing to be the recipient in this divine dance of love.
In this meditation I'm going to invite you to delve into the deepest depths of your heart and experience a taste of that halal panui and a taste of the infinite light that is alive in you.
With blessings from Jerusalem I invite you to find a comfortable seat and close your eyes bringing your awareness to the center of your chest to the breath that expands this heart space in and as you allow your breathing and to slow down I invite you to place your hands over the center of your chest as you focus your mind's eye on this spot where your body meets your soul where heaven and earth kiss and allow yourself to experience as if all of your breath were coming in through your heart and releasing out of your heart this nishmat chayim is being breathed into you as if by divine lips as if from a divine heart right into your heart precious one to relax into this breath as your whole body relaxes into this breath and allow your heart to awaken with this breath as your whole body awakens with this breath in and as your body continues to relax and continues to awaken I invite you to zoom your awareness in to the center of your heart so you can imagine that you're small enough to stand right in its midst to feel it pulsating pulsating against your skin pumping that nishmat chayim into every fiber of your being you feel the aliveness here feel the truth of the psalmist's words the guardian of Israel neither rests nor sleeps that even as you rest precious one the divine is actively pumping life and as you are fully immersed in this heart lay your hands to rest on your lap and simply feel that aliveness feel the thrumming feel the beauty that is life coursing through your veins your heartbeat dancing upon the slow and steady rhythm of your breath and as you continue to feel this aliveness and this relaxation I invite you to zoom in even more so that you can imagine yourself sitting right in the center of one of the cells of your heart feel all of the activity there of information of energy and of life itself and even as your breath continues to deepen and relax feel all of the energy of the cell around you and pulsating and as your breath goes in,
So much energy flows into the cell you having to push a button for you,
Precious one until you find yourself in the midst of one atom of your heart and see the teeny little proton,
The teeny little neutron and the speck of electrons orbiting the space around you the guardian of Israel does not rest and does not sleep even as you relax more and more all of this life keeps moving in you 9% is empty space just like the halal hapanui the empty space the divine created and so it is inside this atom the empty space is never really empty and the question is what would you like to add to this space?
Something of your heart something of your breath as you feel yourself in the midst of this atom turn up the volume by focusing your mind's eye and your hands right in the center of your chest and choose love right now as a light,
A glow in your chest and feel your hands sending it heat and attention and see your mind sending it loving images of places you love and of experiences you love and just choose more love so the light in your chest grows brighter and even brighter still so the light in your heart bursts out and fills your entire chest so the light in your heart fills the entire trunk of your body and can you increase that light even more so your whole body from head is filled with this light of love and be like the great ones of Israel who were filled with so much love so much life and so much light that it couldn't help but burst out of the pores of their skin and shine into the space all around them that seemingly empty space with the light in your heart,
Precious one a light so brilliant the whole atom glows so glorious the atom buzzes with it so delicious the atom can't help but share it with the atoms all around I invite you now to zoom out back into this cell packed with atoms aglow with your light with your love with your life and feel that cell even more vibrant more glowing with this love of yours precious one so much so that it can't help but want to share it with all of the cells of your heart so as you zoom out and feel yourself sitting in the midst of this glorious organ feel the light of your love and your love of life itself shining in your heart enlivening your heart even more and inviting your heart to serve the world with your light this is what it is to be a light onto the world it is for this that you were created to choose life to choose light and to choose love and knowing that you can come back to this feeling whenever you want I invite you to wiggle your fingers and slowly come back to the present moment to this present body alive with the light of your heart and bat your eyes open ready to bless the world with your gaze I offer you the blessings of my heart and the light of Jerusalem
