**Note: If the mind is not really peaceful now, it might not be a perfect moment to listen to this podcast, be aware of the emotions or reactions. Where there is attachment, there is division, there is conflict. This talk is a meditation practice. What one needs to do is listen attentively, without getting stuck in words, examine the mind in silence, no agree or disagree, just look at the mind as it is. Doing so is already a meditation practice.

When the thoughts are negative,

Creating a lot of unpleasant feelings,

Emotions,

Their habit of attachment stays because the habit of seeking pleasure from thoughts.

Out of that habit,

The mind is easily trapped by the negative thoughts.

Out of the reactions to the thoughts,

The mind wants to get rid of it.

However,

That kind of intention or wanting to get rid of it is another illusion.

That wanting to get rid of the thoughts enhances the attachment,

Perpetuates the issues.

So one may have found that both seeking pleasure from thoughts or wanting to get rid of thoughts creates an enhanced attachment.

Because either seeking pleasure or getting rid of thoughts,

They are both interacting with thoughts.

They are both the identification with thoughts.

As long as one is into the thoughts in this way,

The attachment is always there.

Until one feels happiness and finds one is unable to do anything about it,

What one can just do is just to observe the thoughts.

Not doing anything,

No seeking,

No refusing,

Just observe.

In that observance,

The mind is able to not attach to thoughts.

That's the secret,

That's also the wisdom,

With thoughts.

One must feel absolutely helpless when interacting with thoughts.

In that helplessness,

One stops seeking,

Stops refusing,

Just watch it.

Watch it arising,

Watch it disappearing.

To observe these dynamics of thoughts,

One has to empty oneself,

To observe the thoughts with a fresh mind.

Just to observe,

There's no observer.

Because the observer implies the self,

Implies one sees the thoughts through other thoughts.

That's not observance.

Observe the thoughts because you are the thoughts,

The observer is no different from the observed.

What one observes is the content of the consciousness,

The self,

The observer is also the content of the consciousness,

Made of all kinds of thoughts,

Images,

The self image,

The name,

The age,

The education,

The title,

Fame.

When one deeply realizes what one observes is no different from oneself.

In that observance,

Everything is fresh,

The mind purely stays at its moment to vouch,

Vouch the thoughts arise,

Flow away,

Arise,

Flow away.

And this is the meaning of non-attachment.
