The mind is so easily trapped in small issues,
All kinds of petty issues,
Problems.
For such a mind,
It has no space to inquire into the mind itself,
The life,
The existence,
To understand the bigger questions of life.
The mind is so engaged,
So busy solving all kinds of small issues which are immediate.
But all those small issues,
Immediate issues are endless.
Look around the world,
All kinds of human activities are basically the small issues.
We are doing all kinds of things in order to seek the solutions to the small issues.
Then we are doing this day by day,
Month by month,
Year by year.
New issues are popping up to replace the old issues,
But the issues stay.
If one can't inquire into life to understand the bigger aspects of life,
Then all the small issues,
All the immediate issues are the consequence of the ignorance of the bigger questions of life.
That means confusion about life.
If one could really understand,
Could see the total state of the mind,
The total life,
In that we can easily solve all kinds of small issues.
But through the other way around,
When we are only busy with small issues,
We may not arrive at the bigger aspect of life.
So to meditate is to inquire into this vast field of life,
Not a small corner of it.
When the mind is trapped in a small corner,
All kinds of conflicts,
Issues are always there.
In that state of being trapped,
The mind has no space to inquire,
To understand,
To observe itself.
So meditation is to understand the mind totally,
Not partially,
Not fragmentarily,
But totally.
In that totality,
We can solve any issues from the fragments,
That's from the thoughts,
From the small corner,
The mind is trapped in.
