Accepting this moment, exactly as it is, is to be free. And accepting THIS moment, exactly as it is, is to be free. It is only in the presence of discriminating thoughts that we judge things to be dissatisfactory. Well, what if we accept those too?

Let's get comfortable.

Just as comfortable as we can,

Whatever that looks like.

And if some tension or discomfort remains,

Let's see if we can accept it.

In fact,

Let's just see if we can accept everything about this moment exactly as it is.

This includes physical sensations,

Thoughts,

Emotional tones,

Even everything to do with your practice,

Whatever that might be.

Perhaps you're working on calm abiding practices such as breath meditation.

If so,

Can you accept everything about your practice as it is?

Or perhaps you're working on insight practices,

Investigating,

Exploring,

Experimenting.

Can you accept this practice as it is?

Can you accept whatever degree of calm abiding is present right now and cease longing for more?

Can you accept whatever degree of insight is present right now and cease longing for more?

Indeed,

This cessation of longing will lead to greater calm abiding and greater insight.

Thank you.

Perhaps some thought or some emotion or some physical sensation seems worthy of your attention.

Perhaps even seems worthy of pursuit.

Well,

Now that's happening,

Can you accept that?

In accepting it,

We become calm.

In accepting it,

We become able to observe it without being bought in,

So to speak.

And now insight can occur.

We can see that thought,

Emotion or physical sensation as not me,

As object.

We can see it arising and passing away,

Impermanent.

And we can see that if we grasp it,

There's our dissatisfaction.

Or if we try to push it away,

There's dissatisfaction too.

Accept the flow of reality just as you accept the weather.

With no distinction between inside and out,

What difference can be seen?

What is the difference between the sound of the rain and the sound of your thoughts?

In order to make a distinction,

We must conceptualise.

Concepts come and go.

Enjoy the freedom that comes with accepting things as they are.

Anything that can be said to be right or wrong is an object that comes and goes.

And the judgement about it comes and goes.

And the judger comes and goes.

When this is seen clearly,

Subject-object relativity vanishes.

And there is nothing more to say.

May we all be free in the perfection of each moment.
