In this world of business and doingness, having a habitual practice of resetting, of being is so important if we want to be in that space of ever-expanding peace, joy, and harmony. I invite you to join me as we explore what it means to have a breathing space, and how we can incorporate that into our daily lives.

Blessings and welcome to the path to freedom,

This beautiful journey that we are on,

This magnificent adventure of continuously setting ourselves free to be in ever-expanding peace and love and joy and harmony and wholeness and beauty and abundance,

To be evermore soaring and shining and glowing,

To forever love for greater and grander expressions of who we are to emerge.

Thus,

In doing all of this,

As all of this is about us cultivating a new way of life gradually,

Incrementally,

Step by step,

Moment by moment,

We are releasing and letting go of that which no longer serves,

Habits,

Ways of being,

Ways of showing up in the world,

Thought patterns,

Reactions,

Judgments,

Opinions,

All of these small and limited structures that may have been a part of our personality but that we,

For the next iteration of who we are,

Need to release and let go of.

So this is a beautiful path of continuous expansion,

Of continuous moving forward,

Of continuous growth,

That we may be reborn again and again and again and again.

My name is Daniel Roquillo and as always I'm very grateful and honored that you're choosing to join me.

It's been quite some time since I recorded one of these messages.

I've been very busy with completing my latest audio course and it's taken up a whole lot of time and with everything else that is going on.

So it's almost as though,

I'm really not nervous really,

But it seems unfamiliar.

It feels unfamiliar to be here to record this,

But I absolutely love it and I absolutely love what I get out of it.

So as much as I'm trusting that you get something out of these messages and talks and meditations and all of that,

I am getting so much out of them.

So I've really been missing these,

I've really been missing these.

So I'm glad that we're back,

That I am back in a space where recording this,

Once again,

Is a part of what I do.

So the topic for today is something about breathing spaces,

That we need a breathing space,

A space to just be.

And this is very relevant in my life right now.

And as much as I have been missing these,

Recording these messages,

I have been missing having that space.

Having a breathing space,

Which is simply what it sounds like.

It is a space where I just allow myself to sit.

I usually sit out on the deck,

Especially in the summer,

Not so much in the winter,

But in the summer I sit out on the deck and I just look out over the fields,

I listen to the sounds of nature,

I observe,

I witness,

I'm just there.

I have no agenda,

I have no to-do list,

There's nothing I need to do,

It's just a space for me to be.

And sometimes that space is a space where the mind just wanders off.

Oftentimes it is a space where I contemplate,

Where I hold alive and active,

Where I consciously envision my future,

Envision my life,

So to make that alive and active within myself.

So to make myself,

Move myself into vibration alignment with that.

But regardless,

These last couple of months have been very,

Very,

Very intense.

Me and my family are making some big changes in our lives.

There's been a lot of structures just crumbling and falling apart and a lot of new opportunities and possibilities emerging.

It's just been so intense.

And so I have chosen,

It has been a conscious choice,

It has been a conscious choice on my part to turn my attention and to give my full attention to more of a doing-ness,

A doing space.

Be that as it may,

What I want to get to is that I can absolutely feel the ramifications,

I can absolutely feel the effects of not giving myself that breathing space.

My nervous system is so wound up.

I am experiencing levels of stress that I haven't experienced in such a long,

Long time.

The mind is relentless because I have required of it to be working over time and double shifts and all of that.

I have asked that of the mind and the mind has responded by,

Even in meditation,

And I absolutely still have my day-to-day spiritual practice.

I have my daily meditations,

I have my prayers,

I have my prayer journals.

Not so much prayer journals,

To be honest.

I have released these as well during this very intense space.

But the mind is relentless.

And so it is longing,

Maybe not the mind,

The ego may not be longing for quietude,

For a space of stillness,

But the soul,

The heart,

My whole body is longing for that.

Having a breathing space is one of my four spiritual needs that I absolutely need to tend to.

Meditation is one,

A creative space is one,

Physical movement,

Physical exercise,

Working out is one.

Having a breathing space is one.

A space of just being,

Where there's no doingness,

There's no achieving anything,

There's no getting nowhere,

There's no accomplishments.

Just a space to be,

To relax,

To rejoice and simply be.

Be with the breath,

Be with the mind,

Be with our visions,

Be with our intentions,

Be with our dreams,

Nurture them,

Invigorate them,

Allowing them to come alive within us.

A space to just be.

We absolutely need a space to just be.

A space void of activity.

So it's not watching tv,

It's not.

.

.

I do sometimes have some very soft instrumental music in this space.

I do give myself that,

Because that music,

That playlist,

This particular playlist,

It allows me to relax even further.

So it's not meditation music,

But it's very soft,

It's very harmonious,

It's very beautiful,

But it is not a space for us to distract ourselves.

It is a space for us to be fully present and we absolutely need that space,

Perhaps now more than ever,

When there's so much going on in the world,

When there's so many things happening on a collective level,

On a global level,

On an individual level,

There's so many things happening.

So we need to have a space of resetting,

Of coming to a full stop,

Coming back to the breath.

Which reminds me that I've set the intention to incorporate breath work into these messages.

So in this now moment,

Let us take a deep conscious breath.

Breathing in,

And breathing out.

Breathing in,

Another deep breath in.

And breathing out.

Doesn't that feel good?

To come back to the nowness of this moment.

To fully anchor,

Ground and center ourselves in that which is here,

Now.

And that is what a breathing space is.

It is a sacred space where we get to be fully present.

Where we get to witness and observe whatever is,

Whatever content is flowing through our minds,

Emotional,

Intellectual,

Mental,

Whatever is happening around us.

But to have that space.

And I know that the mind,

I know that the ego,

Has all these excuses as to why not give ourselves that space.

Oh,

There's not enough time,

There's not enough of this,

There's not enough of that,

There's so many things I need to do,

There's so many things I need to attend to,

Oh my god,

Have you seen my to-do list?

My goodness!

And all these things are kind of like when we are flying and they're having that initial security run-through,

Where the steward is,

And the stewards,

Where they go through what to do in case of an emergency.

And that if the pressure in the cabin should drop and these oxygen masks will fall down from the,

Whatever is above our heads,

How adults absolutely need to put the masks on themselves before they tend to their children,

We absolutely need to tend to ourselves.

It is a responsibility that we have,

That we honor whatever spiritual needs that we have,

So that we may stand up for ourselves.

Honor whatever spiritual needs that we have,

So that we may stay in high vibration,

So that we may sustain a high vibration,

So that we may stay in peace,

So that we may stay in harmony,

So that we may stay in joy,

So that we may stay untouched,

Unmoved by the world.

If we are just buying into the busyness of the world,

There's not going to be peace,

We're not going to have peace,

We're not going to be peace.

So we need to choose to allow for peace to emerge.

So we need to have spaces,

We need to have moments of resetting.

Be that a breathing space,

Be that using our moments in between to just anchor ourselves,

Come back to the breath and beginning again.

Be that,

As I just recently heard someone say,

That they,

In their workplace,

Which is kind of crazy,

It is a crazy workplace that they have,

And so they take,

Instead of bathroom breaks,

They take meditation breaks.

They go to the bathroom to meditate,

Just for a few moments.

It doesn't have to be for long,

Just for a couple of minutes,

So that no one will ever notice whether or not they're going to the bathroom,

Or whether or not they're going to meditate.

But just having moments of resetting,

Of reclaiming our minds,

Of taking back our minds,

We absolutely need it.

And when we are hijacked by the ego,

By a sense of not being enough,

By a sense of not having enough,

By lack,

Scarcity,

Separation,

By judgments,

Opinions,

When we are hijacked by these,

When we attach ourselves to these,

We are of no heavenly good here on this planet.

And we're all here to be of heavenly good.

We're all here to raise the vibration,

To midwife the new consciousness of humanity.

We're all here to learn,

To step out of that reactionary,

Mindless,

Grown way of being that humanity as a collective is caught up in.

So we absolutely need to find a way to incorporate,

To include,

To make it a habitual practice,

To have some sort of breathing space.

A space to just breathe,

A space to just be,

So to release the busyness,

Release the tension,

Release the judgments,

The opinions,

To set ourselves free.

It's like those trees that so beautifully are withstanding storms and all manner of weather,

And they are withstanding it because their roots run so deep.

Like the trees that are perhaps growing on mountain sides where there's not enough dirt,

Or all that much dirt,

These are the ones that get tossed away when the storm comes.

Or the trees that do not have their roots run so deep.

There's a reason why a seed put in the ground,

Why it begins by rooting,

Why it doesn't begin to shoot,

But it begins to root,

So that it may sustain,

So that the roots may sustain the tree,

Or plant,

Or whatever the case may be.

So just as all of nature is grounded,

Centered in the soil,

So do we need to be grounded,

Centered,

Anchored in the nowness of this moment.

And absolutely this is not only something that we do once every day,

But this is something that we need to do many times every day,

But we need to do it.

We need to do it.

We need to order our lives.

It's like that beautiful saying that,

How does it go?

Our prayers really begin when we start praying,

Or our yogic practices really begin when we have completed our yoga session.

Absolutely having formal moments of practicing,

Meditation,

Prayer,

Yoga,

Whatever.

These are beautiful,

But if we forget about the presence,

If we are fully present for 30 minutes every day in that formal practice,

And then forget about being present for the reminder of the day,

We're gonna be of no earthly good,

Heavenly good,

But we will be swept away.

We will be swept away by the tide,

By the whatever is popular in the collective human consciousness,

Whatever is blasted into our minds and into our awareness from the news and from social media and whatnot.

We absolutely need to have a breathing space,

A space of setting ourselves free.

So let's take another deep couple of breaths,

Breathing in yay and breathing out another deep breath in it feels so good it feels so good to be here,

To be now to be anchored,

To be grounded,

To be centered in the nowness of this moment.

It doesn't mean that we deny external conditions and circumstances,

It doesn't mean that we become indifferent,

It doesn't mean that we don't care,

That we become mindless,

It simply means that we become mindful.

It simply means that we are moving from a different space.

We're allowing that still small voice,

We're allowing intuition,

We're allowing inspiration,

We're allowing joy,

We're allowing love,

We're allowing peace to run us,

To guide us,

To lead us,

To move us.

We need to come back,

We need to choose to come back.

No one is going to choose it for us,

Unless we choose it,

It's not going to get chosen.

So we need to choose it and the more we choose it,

The easier it will be to choose it.

Repetition births habits and as we,

On a regular and consistent basis,

Choose to come back,

Choose to come back,

Choose to come back.

As we choose to every day allow ourselves to have a breathing space,

A moment of resetting,

A moment of just being,

That becomes a habit.

A habit that sustains,

That supports,

That serves us in a beautiful way.

So that's the invitation for us today and I'm absolutely inviting myself to have every single day a breathing space,

A space of,

It's usually for me,

It's usually 20 minutes.

I suddenly learn to go off on my phone,

I start it,

I sit my butt down and I sit there for 20 minutes.

No agenda,

No doingness,

No busyness,

Just being-ness.

So that's the invitation,

Not necessarily 20 minutes but however long we feel we can work with and perhaps when we have caught what we have to work with,

We can just extend that a little bit,

Extend that a little bit.

So maybe it's 10 minutes,

Maybe it's 5 minutes,

Maybe it's 15 minutes but the invitation is that we have it every single day,

That we give ourselves this gift of being present,

Of coming back to the nowness,

This moment.

And this,

Let me be clear,

This is not meditation.

So we have our meditation practice which is formal and then we have this oasis of presence.

Questions for us to ask on a regular basis as we're moving through our days,

Questions to ask are where am I now?

Where in time am I or am I in time?

Am I in the past?

Am I in the present which is not the same as the nowness of this moment?

Am I in the future or am I here?

Am I now?

Another question we can ask is where am I turning my attention?

Am I witnessing and observing that which is here or am I turning my attention towards something that has been or maybe will be?

So to be mindful during our day of where we are in time or if we are outside of time,

Beyond time.

So thank you so so much for tuning in,

For participating.

As always,

If this resonates with you,

I invite you to share with anyone you feel might benefit from hearing this.

Until we meet again,

As always I absolutely bless,

Bless,

Bless our days and I bless,

Bless our ways in the full knowing that all is well,

Something wonderful is happening,

That everything is working for our highest good,

The perfect preparation and unfolding is always happening.

Much love,

Many blessings.

Namaste.

I meditate daily but it never occurred to me to set a timer and “just be” daily. That resonates with me and will incorporate that into my day! Blessings. 🩵
