Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius,
And I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our practice today is intended to help you clear your energy,
Clear out any places in your mind,
Body,
Or spirit that is holding energy that you do not need,
Help you tap into your own inner power,
And also help you access a deeper sense of presence.
In order to do this,
There will be some active components of our meditation where I will invite you in to make a little bit of noise,
To use the vibration of your voice to help you move out any energy that is no longer serving you.
It's going to be really simple,
I'm going to guide you the whole way,
And a gentle but important reminder that you can't get this wrong.
You can't get this wrong.
So,
That part of your brain that loves to criticize or analyze,
We're just going to say thank you,
We're good,
We got this.
Let's begin our practice,
Let's take a nice deep breath,
Breathing in,
Hold at the top of your breath,
And let it go with some noise,
Ahhh,
A gentle softness to find you softening your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
Dropping your shoulders,
Letting the softness work its way down,
Down,
Down your torso,
Your legs,
Down your shins to your feet,
Continuing to take deep breaths,
Signaling to our mind that we are safe here,
We are safe here,
We're allowed to go slow,
We're allowed to rest and recharge here,
And if your mind begins to wander,
That's okay,
That's what creative minds do sometimes,
You can always come back to the breath,
You can always come back to your heart,
Taking a moment here to connect with your heart,
How is your heart this morning,
Noticing if your breath has become shallow,
If it has a gentle reminder to continue taking deep breaths into the bottom of your belly,
Take nice exhales with some noise,
Seeing if you can access a little bit of joy,
A little bit of ease,
Maybe even a little bit of pleasure,
For this next part,
There is an invitation to perhaps go slightly outside of your comfort zone,
We're going to take deep breaths,
But on the exhale you're going to make louder noise,
It's not just an exhale,
I want you to imagine you are releasing stagnant energy,
You are releasing unneeded energy,
You are releasing anything you might have accumulated over the course of just interacting with people and environments,
It's an energetic cleanse,
An energetic detox,
It's really simple,
I'll model it for you here,
And I know you can't see me,
But I'll try to describe what's happening,
I take a deep breath in,
On my exhale I open my mouth wide and sometimes I even stick my tongue out and I imagine energetically I am using my breath and the vibrations of my voice to let go,
To release,
And so it sounds like this,
Deep breath in,
And on the exhale mouth wide open and I go and I do that a few times,
Now I told you this might push you to the edge of your comfort zone and maybe you need to go slower and you need to do a lighter version of that,
And the key to this is to feel when you need to move a little in your body,
When you need to push a little further,
When you need to stick your tongue out further or less,
Just trust your body,
You're just releasing,
And when I feel like there's more,
I release more,
And if you're feeling a little more introverted today or you're in an environment that doesn't support this,
It's okay,
You can go really light and just take a breath,
And with your permission I'd like to try it now,
Let's take a deep breath in,
Opening the mouth and letting go of anything you don't need,
And sometimes I like to add a little shake to it and just move the energy,
And I imagine from the bottom of my belly things are moving out and we're making space,
We're clearing energy,
We're activating the power of our voice,
And sometimes if you pay attention you can even hear your roar,
There's a roar in there,
There's power in there as we release,
Let's try it again,
Deep breath in,
Just take a moment to feel the new space inside you,
Feeling lighter,
Feeling more spacious,
We are energetically detoxing things that aren't ours,
Thoughts and beliefs that are no longer needed,
We are making space for clarity,
For power,
For presence,
And we're going to go one more time and you decide if you need to be louder,
If you need to open your mouth wider,
If you need to move,
Or if you need to be quiet and still,
All options are available to you,
Deep breath in,
Just feel this frequency,
Feel this energy,
What's available to you here,
I'm going to share a few simple affirmations here,
And you get to decide if you'd like to take them in or let them float away,
They're really,
Really simple,
I am strong,
I am clear,
I am present,
I am here,
I am strong,
