Namaste and a very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me Dhyanser.
We are meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
You are fortunate,
Very fortunate that you have come across spirituality,
That you have come across meditation,
That you have this awakening in you so early.
You're fortunate and this awakening has happened to you so early.
Why I say so early?
If you see from the lands where meditation and spirituality comes,
From those traditions,
From those lands,
Meditation and spirituality was kept at the very last of the life.
Life was divided into different phases where the first phase of life you are just growing up,
Discovering the world.
You are in your innocence,
You are in your adolescence and then you move to the next phase of life where you take up responsibilities.
You have a family,
You have other responsibilities,
You have a profession and you're constantly busy most of the times.
All your adult life with that,
All your happiness,
All your joy,
All the experiences of life are just arising out of fulfilling those roles,
Those responsibilities and everything that is there as a part of your life.
Then there was a third phase where you were done with your responsibilities.
The children were already adults,
Your professions were now not good anymore for you and you entered a phase of life where you wandered around in the world.
For the very first time,
Your consciousness was allowed to be open,
To see the world once again with fresh eyes,
Once again travel and see that there is so much more to life than just this mundane routine that we all have.
That phase of life led to being lost,
Led to asking questions,
Led to contemplations,
Led to spirituality and as a very last phase of life,
When all of every other phases of life had passed,
Everything else had not been adequate.
You had seen that everything else is not surprising,
Only then with that maturity,
With that experience,
With that awakening,
Spirituality was opening for you that became relevant for you in your life and then you moved into sannyasa,
You moved into that deep contemplation of who am I,
What am I doing in this world,
What is the purpose of my life,
What is this life.
Everything all these relevant aspects of life,
Relevant topics of life were kept at the very last.
Therefore,
I say you are fortunate.
It is early,
It does not matter what age you have,
It does not matter in which stage of life you are in,
It is fortunate,
It is early that we have come across,
We have stumbled upon spirituality,
Upon meditation and whatever experience in our life has led to this awakening,
Now we have created this gap between the world and us,
There is an awakening in us which tells us that yes,
There is a lot of experience of this world,
But there is something more.
You have already tasted that the inner peace,
That your love,
Your happiness is not arising out of this physical world,
This material world.
They have their own place in your life,
But you are at a certain distance.
That much awakening has happened in you,
That much awakening has led you to spirituality,
Has led you to meditation,
Has led you to come here and sit in meditations with me,
With all of us.
This awakening is very significant.
Now how to deal with this awakening?
If you are not anchored,
If you are not having a practice,
A daily practice,
An anchor of some sort,
What will happen is either you will fall back into the mundane,
You will fall back into the worldly and you will keep on wishing and trying to reach to happiness,
To inner peace,
To joy,
To love through the material or you will be completely drifted away becoming a complete,
You will renounce the entire worldly realms of things and you will move into the monastic paths.
You will also leave this complete space,
This physical world that we are living in and you will live in seclusion and so on.
The effort here in these sessions is that none of that happens.
Either you fall back into the material nor you fall back into the complete monastic.
You live a very integrated life.
You live a life where you have this awakening.
This awakening results in the truth,
In the inner peace,
In the silence,
In the love in your life and you are very well also rooted in your mundane,
In your daily lifestyles,
In your activities,
Whatever you are doing,
If you are a family holder or you are studying or you are a retiree,
It does not matter.
So this is something new that is happening now that has never happened before.
Before in the past,
These were the only two extremities available.
Either you were fully a part of the world or you were completely away from the world,
You had renounced the world and you were living in the mountains or in a monastery,
Completely immersed in this search.
What we have now achieved here and what we are doing in these sessions is to put all these two together,
To live an integrated life,
To have that truth,
To have that silence,
To have that inner peace as a part of our daily life.
So if you have been flowing along with this journey,
With these sessions,
With me and with everyone else in this group,
In this community,
You have already tasted that there is a possibility.
After this awakening,
After having all the questions of how to go about this awakening,
How to live authentically,
How to have spirituality in life,
You have tasted that it is possible.
The flower has blossomed in you that it is possible to have both and move together in an integrated way.
Let us listen to the technique for meditation today.
Let us explore what the technique brings to us,
What new understanding,
What new wisdom it opens up for our life today.
Then we will practice it and sit in silence.
Bhairava in Vigyan Bhairavatamara says,
By meditating on the letters of Om,
From the first to the last,
In the form of a void,
Become the void.
In order to understand this technique which is simply chanting Om and a variation of chanting Om,
What wisdom does this carry?
Let us see that Tantra is working on two dimensions.
When Tantra is giving this technique,
It is different than when Yoga gives this technique.
It is different than any other wisdom tradition gives this technique.
It is different than simply chanting Om when you are in complete devotion of something.
Tantra works on two levels.
One is your consciousness and the other is your energies.
It allows your consciousness to expand and it allows your energies to be liberated.
It works on both and when it is giving you a technique of Om chanting,
It is working on both,
On expanding your consciousness and also liberating your energies.
How does this happen that by chanting Om your consciousness is expanding?
See that ordinarily you live in three states of consciousness.
The first state is your waking state in which you spend most of your time in your daily life.
You do all your activities in this waking state,
In this Jagruti,
The state of consciousness where you are awake,
Where you are mindful,
Where all the mind is active,
The activities are there and you are performing all these activities,
You are busy in these activities but you are also aware of all these activities.
Then you shift to the second state of consciousness which is the Svapana,
The dreaming state.
It is only supposed to happen when you go to sleep that you are dreaming what you can very well see from your experience of life,
How much day dreaming that you are in.
In fact,
Our daily life,
Our day is not at all composed of the waking state of consciousness.
It is composed of mainly this dreaming state of consciousness.
All the time during the day we are simply dreaming.
We are in the world of the thought,
We are in the world of the emotion,
We are in the world of this dream that is created by our own mind,
The projection that is created by our own mind.
This state of consciousness is the dream state of consciousness which belongs to the sleep,
Which belongs to the unfulfilled part of the waking state but more and more of it is in our daily life and therefore we feel the need of being more mindful,
We see the need of being more aware.
And the third state of consciousness which is Susukti,
Deep sleep,
Where there is no mental activity whatsoever but there is also no awareness.
When you are completely asleep,
When the world does not exist for you,
When the sleep is so deep that everything has come to an end,
That state of consciousness,
That state of dormancy,
Of latency is the deep sleep.
And you are living in these three states of consciousness all throughout your 24 hours.
Emotion brings you to this fourth state of consciousness,
This fourth state of consciousness where there is no mental activity,
Where there is no thought,
Where there is no emotion but there is awareness.
There is pure awareness,
There is pure wakefulness.
So when you chant Om,
The sounds of Om are composed of three letters,
A,
O,
M.
When you put them together it becomes Om.
These are three letters or three sounds,
Three distinct sounds put together as Om.
A is working on your waking state.
In the chant of Om,
The A harmonizes your waking state.
Once again you are awake.
Once again in your waking state you are present,
You are there in whatever you do.
O harmonizes your dream state.
Those dream states do not remain as nightmares,
They become your imagination.
It empowers your imagination,
It empowers your visualization and not just getting carried away with wherever the mind is projecting to you in your dreams.
And the Ma.
The Ma of Om,
It harmonizes your deep sleep state where you sleep very well,
You have absolutely no dreams,
You have absolutely no disturbances in your sleep and for the very first time you are at rest.
When you give yourself that daily rest,
You are refreshed for the cycle again for the rest of your day.
So Om,
These three letters,
These three sounds,
A,
O,
Ma,
It harmonizes all three states of your consciousness and makes you ready for the fourth state.
The fourth state of consciousness where there is no activity whatsoever and there is only pure consciousness.
There is stillness,
There is pure consciousness,
There is pure awareness.
When you chant Om and move from the sound of Om to the silence of Om,
You are in that state of pure consciousness.
So that is how it works on the consciousness.
It also works on your energies.
To understand how it works on your energies,
You have to see that with the chant of Om,
The energy rises from the bottom to the very top.
When you chant A in Om,
Then the energy starts rising from the very bottom of your body.
From the lower chakras of your body,
They get energized with the sound of A.
As in the Om,
The sound reaches to OO,
The energy rises to the middle of your body,
To your Anahata chakra,
To your Vishuddhi chakra and the energy rises further as you say Ma to all the way to your Agnya chakra in Sahasraar and meets in Sahasraar.
So as you say,
As you chant Om,
As you connect to these sounds of Om,
AO Ma,
Your energies start rising from the very bottom of your body,
From the very lowest center of your energy body and rises further up all the way to the top and it is then liberated from your own Sahasraar.
Which means the energy from the bottom reaches to the top and from there on it is connecting to the source,
It is connecting to the infinite source of energy,
It is liberated.
So this is how Om works,
This is how powerful this chant of Om is.
As we once again today chant Om,
As we did yesterday,
Today you will do it with this intention that as you chant Om,
You pay attention to these three different layers.
With the sound of Aa,
You will feel the energy rising from the very bottom of your body with the sound of Ma,
Aa,
Aa and Ma reaching all the way to the top.
So as you chant Om with me,
As you connect to the vibrations of Om,
To the reverberations of Om,
Move from the very bottom of your body all the way to the top of your body in terms of energy and move in silence from sound to silence whenever the Om ends.
You may chant Om with me or you simply listen to Om with me.
You may sink in your pace of Om with me or you wait for me to finish the Om,
You start your Om with me,
You wait to finish your Om and then you wait once again as I start chanting Om and in those breaks,
In that waiting,
Connect to the vibration of Om,
Connect to the silence of Om.
Please close your eyes and take a posture that is comfortable for you.
With your head,
Neck and back,
Rest it,
Yet alert.
Imagine your awareness in your inner space,
Your breath settling in its natural pace.
Inhale.
Inhale.
Inhale.
Inhale.
Focus on the Ah,
O,
Ma,
Or Fum.
The being aware of the sensations of the energy arising from the lower to the upper part of your body,
From Mooladhara chakra all the way to Sahasra.
X And the silence after every Aum.
Aum.
Draw all your energy from the very bottom of your body.
When you begin the Aum,
The energy is drawn from the very bottom of your body.
Aum.
Aum.
And the silence after every Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Allowing your energies to harmonize with the vibration of Aum.
Allowing the consciousness to expand with the vibrations of Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Allowing this transcendence to silence with every Aum.
Aum.
Stay in this silence.
The vibrations of Aum without chanting.
Don't try to change anything.
Simply allowing to be in this silence,
In this awareness.
Letting everything go in this silence.
Letting everything go in this silence.
Absolute stillness.
Pure consciousness in the field of energy and vibrations in silence.
Aum.
Aum.
Whatever shift is happening within,
Allow it to happen.
Allowing you to be in this silence.
This silence,
This awareness.
Very gently and slowly,
You may open your eyes.
Once again,
To the waking state,
To the state with awareness,
With presence,
With individual consciousness,
Being a part of this world,
Yet always at a distance.
If you are touched by this space,
By these experiences,
By your awakenings and would like to share,
Would like to be in a Sangha,
In a group,
In a community of others,
Other meditators who are in this space,
Also going through similar awakenings,
Similar experiences and would like to share,
Learn,
Unlearn and explore together,
You are most welcome to join the community that we have been recently forming.
If you are interested,
Please write me an email with a little bit about yourself,
Your interest in the community,
Your journey,
What can you give back to this community and we'll take it from there.
Once again,
Thank you very much,
Namaste.
