#82. Happiness Is To Be Who You Really Are | VBT
In this world we are born as who we really are, just not knowing who we really are. And as life is about to unfold, to show us who we are, we get distracted with the world and start developing a pseudo self. To apply for joining our meditation community, please write me an email introducing yourself, your interest in the community and what can you give back to the community. Join me in a 30 min meditation session every day at 7 AM CET on my website.

Namaste Sanyasa family and everyone.
A very warm welcome to all of you in this daily live meditation session with me,
Dhyansa.
We're meditating on 112 meditation techniques of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.
When I look into your eyes,
I see the absence of you.
Even if I've never met,
Yes,
I'm talking to you who's listening,
Who's tuning in.
When I look into your eyes,
I see the absence of you.
And it is not just me,
Anyone who reaches to silence.
Anyone who is established in awareness can see the absence of you in your eyes.
If you also establish yourself in awareness,
In silence,
You will see the same absence of oneself,
Of people in all the eyes that you see.
You will see that people are there,
They are functioning,
They are all looking alive,
But in their eyes,
If you look,
There is nobody behind.
This is one of the strangest,
One of the weirdest awakenings that happen to you,
The experiences that happen to you on the spiritual journey.
As your silence deepens,
As your awareness establishes,
You take a look into the world,
You take a look at people into the eyes of everyone,
And you see the absence of them.
Everything is there,
They are laughing,
They are crying,
They are moving,
They are talking,
The rationals are there,
The logic is there,
The action is there,
Everything is there,
But they themselves are not there.
Everything in them appears to function,
The mechanical is fully working,
But this life in the eyes is not there.
This wildfire once you had in your life,
In your eyes,
This is not there anymore.
This wildfire,
This spark,
You were born with,
This bright light in your eyes,
The awe and the wonder for this world that you brought in is not there anymore.
Everything else is there in your eyes,
The desire is there,
The worry is there,
The fear is there,
The functioning is there,
The logic is there,
The mind is there,
But you are not there in your eyes.
Who you really are is not there in your eyes,
It is somewhat absent.
Take a look at anybody,
Take a look at anyone around you with the eyes of a meditator,
With the silence of a meditator,
With the awareness of the meditator.
And this is such a strange realization,
This is such a strange phenomenon that you cannot believe yourself when you see the eyes of anyone and see that there is nobody behind.
It is quite strange,
But it is one of the truths,
One of the experiences any spiritual journey would offer you.
Any meditator will go through this experience.
Another strange aspect of that is we are born just the way we are,
Who we really are.
We may not know who we really are when we are born and we are about to discover that as we go along in life,
As we unfold ourselves in life,
To discover who we really are,
To know who we really are,
While really being who we really are,
But all along the way,
The education,
The society,
The training,
The culture,
Everything that we learn all along the way,
It takes us away from who we really are and creates somewhat of a pseudo-life,
A pseudo-center in us.
The one who we really are is replaced from our eyes to something pseudo,
Which is not even sitting in our eyes,
Which is sitting somewhere in the mind,
That pseudo-center,
Which is fully trained to function in life,
Which is fully trained to give the expression,
Which has a persona,
Which has the desires,
Which has all the wishes,
Which has all the fears,
All what life has to offer apparently is lived by this pseudo-self.
And all along this way,
You are wondering where is happiness,
Where is love,
And you are looking for that love,
You are looking for that happiness.
First of all,
The way we have organized ourselves as humanity has taken away from who we really are,
The process of coming to life and discovering who we really are is replaced by us coming to life as who we are and quickly becoming somebody,
A pseudo-life,
A pseudo-center with no energy there in the eyes left anymore,
No authenticity left in the eyes anymore.
This is how we have organized ourselves in life.
No other species on this planet lives like that.
No other species on this planet is not living who they really are except for all human beings living who they are not,
Who they really are not.
They are always astray.
And this constant repetition,
This constant learning,
This constant training,
This constant making you into somebody you are not is the cause of you feeling that there is something missing in life,
Something unsatisfying about life.
The happiness is missing,
Love is missing,
The truth is missing,
The authenticity is missing just because we are repeatedly living in this life just the way we are not and in all this learning from the external world,
From the education,
From the culture,
From the society,
All this learning that we take by constant repetition,
Creating this pseudo-center not in your eyes but somewhere in your mind somewhere.
An Indian lady,
She was travelling in a train in Paris.
She was on a Euro trip enjoying Paris,
Travelling in a train in Paris.
A man,
A gentleman was sitting in front of her and she was constantly staring at him.
For a while the man was ignoring but he started feeling uncomfortable that this woman,
She was constantly looking at this man,
This gentleman.
And this Indian woman then asked,
She could not stop herself from asking,
She said,
Are you Indian?
The man said,
No lady,
I am not Indian.
The woman,
She went back,
She shut off for a while but kept staring at that man all this time and few minutes later she said,
You really must be Indian,
Aren't you Indian?
Tell me.
The man said,
Lady,
No,
I am telling you,
I am definitely not Indian.
Then the lady,
She kept on still looking at the man,
Really strangely analysing,
Doing calculations in her head,
What could she say and she couldn't stop herself,
She said,
Come on,
Really,
Tell me,
You are Indian,
Don't lie to me,
You are Indian.
The man said,
You know,
He was just annoyed by this whole thing for half an hour happening so just to avoid this whole thing,
This whole conversation,
He said,
Yes,
I am Indian.
Then the lady immediately said,
But you don't look like one.
This is how we are.
This is how the whole society,
First of all,
Gives us a constant repetition,
A constant conversation,
A constant creation of this pseudo-self that we are not,
Taking us away off centre,
Taking us away from who we really are before we discover,
Before we know who we really are,
To making us into this pseudo-life,
This pseudo-centre and once we are there,
Then telling us that you are not happy,
That you need some sort of fix in your biochemical to be happy,
You have to go to a therapist or a psychologist or a psychiatrist to get fixed out of your depression,
Out of your unhappiness in life,
Out of your sadness in life.
See that the only happiness in life is to be who you really are.
The only sadness in life is to not be able to live who you really are.
The only fear in life is to not know who you really are.
Everything else is derived out of it.
All your experiences are derived out of that.
So the whole spiritual teaching,
The whole spiritual effort is to once again bring you back on track of knowing who you really are.
In that knowing,
In that unfoldment of knowing,
In that unfoldment of awareness,
You automatically gather the courage,
You automatically gather the life energy to live who you really are.
All you have to do is be put back on track of who you really are.
And this is the greatest contribution to anyone you can make.
You be a parent,
You be a teacher,
You be anybody,
A friend,
Anybody in anyone's life.
If you can bring them back to who they really are,
If you can let them be who they really are,
This is the greatest contribution to humanity.
This is the greatest contribution you can ever make.
But even to make that contribution,
You must know who you really are in the first place.
All the effort here in these sessions,
In this tantra journey,
In all the journeys that we take is to bring you back to who you really are,
Is to wake you up to this knowing,
To this knowledge of who you really are.
And from there on,
You are in your spontaneity,
Your intelligence,
Your life energies,
They give you the chance of living who you really are.
Let us listen to Bhairava from Vigyan Bhairav Tantra,
What he has to contribute in this process of us bringing us back on track,
Bringing us back to the knowing of who we really are.
Bhairava says,
Meditate on the consciousness in other bodies as the same consciousness in you,
Thus remaining unconcerned with one's body.
One becomes all-pervading.
Let me repeat.
Meditate on the consciousness in other bodies as the same consciousness in you,
Thus remaining unconcerned with one's body.
One becomes all-pervading.
The purpose of this technique is to take you out of all the embodiments that you are in,
To take you out of this pseudo-self,
This pseudo embodiment that you are in.
And the way Bhairava is proposing to do that is to,
For a few minutes,
Meditate not on yourself but on everything around you,
The consciousness that is there around you.
In the previous technique,
In the previous sutra which we discussed yesterday,
Bhairava gave these 7 degrees of consciousness,
This split of one consciousness into 7 rungs,
Into 7 levels,
Into 7 degrees,
From the rock to the plants to the animals to the humans to the meditator to the enlightened one and to the god.
These 7 rungs of consciousness.
If you for a few moments do not become,
Do not be self-centered,
Do not worry about your body,
About your self and start connecting to the consciousness that is there all around you,
From the rocks,
The consciousness in the rocks,
The consciousness in the trees,
The consciousness in the animals,
The consciousness in the human beings around you,
In the consciousness of all meditators sharing this space,
In the consciousness of all enlightened masters who have ever walked on this planet,
In the consciousness of God,
In pure consciousness.
If for a while you put yourself aside and bring your consciousness,
Connect your awareness to all these different degrees,
This spectrum of consciousness available to you,
You suddenly are thrown back to this true nature of your consciousness which is all-pervading.
In the light of that all-pervading consciousness,
You start knowing who you really are.
Once again your eyes get that wildfire back from this dormancy,
From this latency,
From this sleep that you are in,
Once again the fire rises in your awareness,
In your consciousness.
So the way to do that in today's session is to not focus on yourself but rather everything else,
The consciousness that is all-pervading in from the rocks to the God,
In all the creation,
In all the manifestation.
Let us close our eyes and take the next few moments of silence and awareness,
In connecting our awareness to the consciousness that is there in everything around us.
Take a posture that is comfortable for you,
Allowing your body to be alert,
Yet relaxed,
With your face relaxed,
Shoulders down,
Body in balance.
Your breath flowing naturally.
Your body and mind resting,
Allowing your awareness to go beyond yourself,
To go beyond your body,
Beyond your mind.
Begin by becoming aware of the consciousness in all the rocks,
All the physical matter around you.
If it helps,
You may visualize a mountain,
A rock,
A stone,
Or earth.
And try to feel the consciousness,
The energy that is there in all the rocks,
All the mountains,
All the physical matter.
Let us close our eyes and take a deep breath.
Let us close our eyes and take a deep breath.
The same consciousness,
One consciousness,
In all the rocks,
In all the mountains,
In all the physical.
Exposing awareness to the plants,
To the trees,
To the forests.
The same one consciousness in the plants.
In the trees.
In the forest.
In the forest.
Becoming aware of that one consciousness,
Everything around you.
The consciousness in all animals.
Allowing the visualizations,
The images to arise if they arise,
While connecting to the consciousness of all animals.
Over.
One consciousness in all.
One consciousness in all.
And raising awareness to all human beings.
One consciousness.
One consciousness.
Shifting awareness to all meditators.
Right now.
Sharing one consciousness.
Moving into silence as one consciousness.
One consciousness.
Shifting awareness to the consciousness of your teacher,
Of your guru,
Of your master,
Of anyone you consider the enlightened being.
One consciousness.
One consciousness.
And raising awareness to pure consciousness.
To the formless.
To the all-pervading.
One consciousness.
Letting go of all effort,
All visualization.
Simply sitting in silence and awareness.
One consciousness.
One consciousness.
The energy,
The sensation at your third eye center.
In the middle of your forehead.
Allowing the expansion.
Very gently and slowly.
You may open your eyes.
Maintaining your stillness,
Your silence,
Your awareness.
And this energy rising in you.
Once again,
Lighting up the brightness in your eyes.
Once again,
Being who you really are.
Closer to your true nature.
Closer to yourself.
If you wish to move on this spiritual journey along with me and with other meditators.
Taking one step a day towards truth,
Towards love,
Towards connectedness,
Towards oneness,
To live a life of who we really are.
If that is your calling,
You may apply to be a part of our community,
Be a part of our Sangha.
By writing me an email with your introduction,
With your calling for the community and what can you give back.
Thank you very much.
Namaste.
