Hello and welcome to this opportunity to unveil your true nature with movement and music.
The song we'll be working with in this practice is called Secret of Secrets.
It was inspired by Sufism.
And the quote,
Give me freedom to fly without a shadow,
Give me freedom to sing without an echo,
And to love without leaving traces.
So this practice is meant to help you go deep within,
To find the treasures inside.
It's also meant to help you connect with your ancestral line,
Healing the past and empowering your future.
There are three movements,
Each associated with a different part of the song.
During the verses,
You'll be covering your eyes with your hands.
This is just to help you turn your focus deeply inward.
You're welcome to rock and sway the body throughout this period.
The second movement originates from Qigong.
As you take your hands away from your eyes,
You'll allow your wrists to float up into the space in front of you.
And then as your hands start to drift downward,
Your palms will face away from you.
So you're simply making kind of like a birdwing movement,
But it's in front of the body as opposed to on the sides of the body.
This movement is done during the bridge and chorus.
The third movement is simply bringing the thumb and index finger together in what is known as Gyan Mudra,
And placing your hands on your knees or thighs.
And this is done during the instrumental.
As you become more and more familiar with the practice,
The easier it will be to anticipate what comes next.
So make yourself comfortable,
Sitting up nice and straight,
Back supported,
Breathe and settle the body.
And prepare to go deeply inward to the source of your inner treasures.
After a silent meditation,
Our practice will end with the sound of a bell.
Here we go.
Hands to face.
