This Yoga Nidra is a unique invitation to receive rich nourishment from Mother Earth as she offers us her divine energy, wisdom, understanding, and compassion, reminding us we are not alone, we are supported, and it is safe to slow down, unwind, and let go. Transcript

Inhaling through the nose,

Exhaling out the mouth,

And just begin to notice your physical body,

Your forehead,

Your eyes,

Feeling your eyes become heavy,

Your cheeks,

Letting go of any tension in the jaw,

And your nose,

Softening the throat and the back of the neck,

Softening the chest,

The belly,

The hips,

The thighs,

The knees,

And feel yourself deeply rooted into the Earth,

And feeling that rich,

Symbiotic relationship with Mother Earth,

And feel her sharing her rich minerals with you,

Allowing your body to take up those minerals to remineralize your body.

So just let Mother Earth do what she knows how to do,

And you don't have to take any action right now.

You just get to rest and receive and be nourished.

And part of Yoga Nidra practice is setting an intention at the beginning of practice that is called a Sankalpa,

And it's always stated in present tense,

So I am healthy,

I am wise,

I am abundant,

I am calm,

And just let whatever word it is that you need right now to come across your consciousness like a word on a movie screen that appears,

And repeat it internally three times.

Once that's complete,

We will begin what's called a rotation of consciousness.

So I will call out areas of the body.

Your only job is to bring your attention fully into that place.

With each area of the body that I call out,

I want you to imagine that Mother Earth is lighting up that area of the body and re-mineralizing the soil of your being.

And so we'll begin with the right hand thumb,

Bringing your attention all the way into the right hand thumb,

Feeling Mother Earth re-mineralizing the soil of your right hand thumb.

Then moving to your index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Palm of the right hand,

The right hand wrist,

The right forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Underarm,

The right side of the ribs,

The right waist,

Heel,

Top of the right foot,

Bottom of the right foot,

Right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Feel the whole right side of the body.

Feel the re-mineralization of the whole right side of the body.

Whole right side.

And crossing the midline of the body,

Bringing your attention now to the left hand thumb.

Feel your whole being in the left hand thumb.

As Mother Earth waves her magic wand and re-mineralizes your whole left hand thumb.

Then moving to the left hand index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Back of the left hand,

Left hand wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder,

Left side of the rib cage,

Left thigh,

Heel,

Top of the left foot,

Bottom of the left foot,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Feeling the whole left side of the body lit up with minerals.

Whole left side of the body.

Now we move to the back of the body,

And we'll move from right to left fairly quickly,

And then both sides of the body at the same time.

So bottom of the right foot,

Bottom of the left foot,

Bottoms of both feet.

The right heel,

The left heel,

Both heels.

The right ankle,

The left ankle,

Both ankles.

The right calf,

The left calf,

Both calves.

Back of the right knee,

Back of the left knee,

Back of both knees.

Back of the right thigh,

Back of the left thigh,

Back of both thighs.

The right seat,

The left seat,

Back of both sides of the seat.

The lower back,

The middle back,

The upper back,

Back of the head,

Top of the head.

Feel the whole back side of the body.

And then bringing your attention to the front of the body,

The forehead,

The right eyebrow,

The left eyebrow,

Both eyebrows.

Center of the brows,

The right eye,

The left eye,

Both eyes.

Top of the nose,

Tip of the nose,

Right nostril,

The left nostril,

Both nostrils,

The whole nose.

Roof of the mouth,

Bottom of the mouth,

Feel the tongue,

Feel the right side of the jaw,

Left side of the jaw,

Both sides of the jaw.

Feel the chin,

Front of the throat,

Right collarbone,

Left collarbone,

Both collarbones.

Center of the chest,

Upper belly,

Lower belly,

Pelvic floor,

The right eye,

The left eye,

Both eyes,

Right knee,

The left knee,

Both knees,

Right shin,

The left shin,

Both shins,

The right ankle,

The left ankle,

Both ankles,

Top of the right foot,

Top of the left foot,

Tops of both feet,

Bottom of the right foot,

Bottom of the left foot,

Both.

Feel the whole body,

From the hips to the feet,

From the shoulders to the fingertips,

The whole torso,

The whole head,

Feel the whole body lit up with the awareness and love and attention of Mother Earth.

Feel her re-mineralizing the soil of your mind,

Your body,

Your heart,

Your emotions.

And bring your attention to your feet,

And the space around your feet,

And the space around your knees,

Your hips,

The space around your hips,

Your belly,

The space around your belly,

The space around your heart,

Your throat,

The space around your throat,

Your head,

And the space around your head.

Feel your whole body lit up with this awareness of the energy around your body,

Notice how far and wide this energy reaches,

And then from your heart,

Imagine a candle.

Bringing that beautiful candle out of your heart,

And into the dark room that you find yourself in,

The cave of self,

Lit up by this beautiful candle.

Feel the reverence that you have for this space.

What is needed in this deep cavern of self?

Does something need to be created?

Does something need to be cleansed or purified?

Just notice what is here.

What does it feel like to be in the quiet of this space?

And then imagine a portal opening in the center of the room to send whatever no longer serves you and allow Mother Earth to compost it.

So anything that's old,

Look around,

Notice if there's clothes you're wearing that need to be recycled.

A change in your image,

In how you present yourself to the world,

Maybe a change has already happened.

And just allow the old you to be tossed into this portal,

This compost chute that you find yourself in.

Just allow yourself to claim what is no longer needed.

Let the sun in,

Fresh air.

If there's any old clothes in your closet,

If there's old books you no longer want,

You can let those go.

And you may notice even that there's people in this space that need to go as well.

Whatever needs to go,

This is your space.

So just let any and all of it go.

If there's an area of the room that your energy is having trouble with,

Just see if you can tune in to what that is and ask is there anything here that needs to go.

So just cleansing and purifying.

And what's absolutely for sure is that you can't embark on the next creation.

If the space that you're in is full of everybody else's stuff or old versions of you that you have aged out of,

It does no good to hang on to the costumes of your past.

And then when you're done,

Thanking Mother Earth and allowing this portal to close now,

Noticing how much better it feels,

Ready for the new you to express itself.

Imagine your heart lit with beautiful white light.

Imagine that light extending out and filling up your whole auric field.

Just allowing yourself this last bit of time to commune with Mother Earth if there's any questions you have of her.

And begin wrapping things up with her now.

Before you come out of this space,

Repeating your sankalpa three more times.

Just begin to start calling yourself back now.

Feeling your spirit arrive deeply in your body,

Anchoring and rooting down into those minerals.

Feeling your legs,

Your hips,

Your torso,

Your arms,

Your head,

Maybe bending your knees,

Bringing your feet to the floor.

Turning yourself to one side.

Just allowing yourself this last moment of restful comfort here Feeling gratitude for this practice,

This re-mineralization of soul.

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

And allowing yourself to come more fully back.

And just noticing how you feel.

Just holding so much gratitude for the cycle of Mother Earth.

The circle that she is constantly reminding us we are a part of.
