Sangha literally means that which walks with you all the time.
These people don't walk with you all the time.
What walks with you all the time?
Through life.
Awareness.

Ego.
Intervent.
Yes.
This is with me all the time.
Yes.
This is my Sangha.
My Sangha is not external people situations things.
That's only in the waking state.
Yeah.
Right.
And that also not all the time.
That is not important.
This is real Sangha.
Okay.
Now this gets colored by these external people situations things.
Yes.
If I'm in the Sangha of a gambler.
And he's all the time gambling,
Gambling,
Gambling and showing me see I made so much money see I made so much money.
What will happen to my mind?
My Sangha what will happen?
I will also get that.
I will develop greed and I will want to be like him.

If I am with a very pure individual who meditates but who not only just closes his eyes and meditates but with open eyes he is a pure person not somebody who gossips not somebody who fakes it that I'm a spiritual person but is really harsh and mean and ugly with other people and behavior.

If I'm with a very good person what happens to my mind?
I also get that.
Correct.
So you get it.
I get that Sangha I get colored by other people.
So what the scriptures say if you are going to keep company don't keep company of a gambler keep company of somebody who is pure and is a good person.
It does not have to be walking on a spiritual path with a spiritual guru even people who have not walked with any guru or not part of any path but they are very nice people genuinely good people.
They have a good heart.
Yeah they might be working in a corporate world but they don't do wrong.
They always have that clean inner conscience.
Those are the people you hang around with if you have to hang around with people.

The main Sangha is this.

So what yogis learnt in the ancient times that oh I have to keep my Sangha pure but in my family I have this gambler and that drug addict and that drunkard and that gossip monger and that person who is very angry and my mind is not so strong yet amongst all these influences to be able to keep it pure.
So let me go away to the Himalayas.
Got it.
So they kept they tried their best to keep their Sangha pure.
Now that was another age another time.
That does not apply to our time.
So in our age and in our time our Sangha has multiplied.
It's not just people now it's social media.
It's TV.
Okay you see so our Sangha has multiplied so much that now we have to keep a filter.
I'm only going to allow the right kind of Sangha and keep out the wrong kind of Sangha.
Yes.
So if in that you are becoming a loner because you see only the negative kind of Sangha around you're absolutely on the right path but if you're pushing even good people away because you have whatever a hatred for good people then you're on the wrong path then you're in the wrong Sangha.
Yeah so that you can go in and engage.
Yeah no I'm not doing that to the nice people.
I welcome the good people the good-hearted people it's only the gossip mongers and the liars and the pretenders the angry people the fake people that I'm keeping away.

We watch a lot of news that also affects the mind.
Yes so many people watch horror films horror films and then what are they dreaming?
In the dream state also there is horror.
So you have to filter out what kind of state of mind do I want to be in.

You keep your Sangha pure.
That is number one priority.
