If we want to begin breaking up the cycle of stress,
Then we need new self-understanding to change our relationship to that cycle.
Hi,
This is Guy Finley and we're going to learn what it means to reach for an entirely new place within ourselves.
A place that we can find in our own hearts and our own mind where it is possible to see that our present thoughts and feelings reveal only a fraction of the whole of our possible experience instead of being what now defines our whole world for us through their conditioned and incomplete perception of it.
Reversing this unconscious condition in ourselves is actually the purpose and the plan of all things that men and women around the world have called the truth that sets us free.
Because insights and higher knowledge are the tools that this truth gives us and our task is simply to be receptive and willing to work with these tools so as to be open enough to allow what is true to reach us and teach us how to be stress-free.
As this higher receptivity and responsibility are united within us,
A great kind of a new destiny is forged for us.
Its direction becomes one great power headed upward and away from the world where stress is our everyday experience.
So now let's learn how we might bring this power's promise to bear in our individual lives.
Have you ever heard yourself say something like,
What in the name of heaven was all that about?
And you were asking yourself what you had just done.
Or along the same lines,
The thought that comes where we say to ourselves,
What on earth was I thinking when it became clear that we weren't thinking at all?
Then there's always,
How could I have been so stupid,
So blind?
I mean,
You fill in the blanks.
We all know what that kind of internal dialogue is like that seems to erupt in our mind when we do the thing that we wish we hadn't done.
It's more than clear that there are many times when we act out behaviors that,
While seeming right to us at the time,
Are later to be found out all wrong for us and everyone else unfortunate enough to have been caught up in our own misguided choices.
But the real question here,
And I hope you're following,
Is how do these kind of blunders take place knowing that none of us would consciously choose to defeat ourselves if we had the choice?
The simple answer is that we don't actually see what is before us.
We are temporarily blinded,
If you will,
But not in the sense of having no vision.
Our momentary blindness is to our own conditioned nature our reactions as it supplies us with its view of reality,
An error that can only be corrected by becoming more and more aware of our actual nature and its reactions so that we begin to see that in truth we weren't seeing at all.
And that's why we were deceived.
Only now we want to see before the fall,
Not after it.
So now we have to learn how it is that we're being fooled right in the act of it.
Because as we learn the how,
We will bring an end to both the foolish action and the fall that we took because of our temporary blindness.
Now in order to bring this about,
The beginning of the end of our relationship with being deceived into falling into stressful states,
I'm going to introduce you to five principles.
And each of these principles interlock with one another and in the end produce the pain of the stress that we all experience when we look at life through the eyes of thoughts and feelings that are telling us what we see and who we have to be accordingly.
And from these insights you will see how these five forces and their presently undetected relationship conspire to color our perception,
Literally creating stress and robbing us of our right to be self-determining.
This is going to be a very powerful moment in your spiritual,
Psychological life because we're about to pull the curtain back on a level of consciousness that few of us are aware of,
But that for our new awareness we will start to understand that we can be stress free.
