Welcome to this I Ching reading for December 2024.

The Chinese book of the I Ching means literally the book of changes and this book discusses the only constant in life,

Namely change.

It's a guidance for us,

Assisting us during times of change,

Be they great or small.

And while it guides,

It does not prescribe or predict.

It merely indicates a suitable course of action and it's very much an interactive experience,

Meaning your own intuition and knowingness will be called upon.

As I discuss the reading,

I invite you to mindfully notice things that feel right for you,

Sound right for you.

You might notice a relaxation in your physical system or a sighing out of the breath.

Look for little points of indication,

Be they physical,

Mental,

Emotional and they can be on either end of the scale.

So sometimes it's also the aspects that make you feel uncomfortable that need to be heeded.

The text from the I Ching originates in the form of trigrams and we know these lines that form the trigrams as yin or yang.

And if you would like to know more about the yin yang language,

I do have a course on yin yang here on Insight Timer.

As a basis,

Yin is the powerful feminine,

It's dark,

It's of a reflective nature and it is a broken line.

Whereas yang is a powerful masculine frequency which is light and active in nature and is represented by a solid line.

And the archetypal yin yang philosophy along with Daoism and Confucianism are all at the heart of the I Ching.

I Ching was introduced into the West in the early 18th century and it really became popular in the 1940s,

However,

When a German missionary translated it into English.

I've been working with the Dao De Ching and studying the yin yang language for more than 10 years now and this is part of my kinesiology practice as well because yin yang forms part of meridian therapy.

So the way that I test to find the appropriate hexagram and reading for each month is I put into circuits the current population and then I muscle test all the hexagrams noticing which one holds the strongest.

In other words,

Which one has the message which is most appropriate for everybody in the world population right now.

So on that note,

Let's dive right into the I Ching reading for May 2024.

If you're able to pause for a few moments,

Please do so,

So we can just spend a few moments centering and setting our intention.

If you're able to close your eyes,

Please do so,

But if you can't,

Simply feel yourself grounding down into your feet.

Feel your whole body.

Take a few deep breaths in and out,

Exhaling all thoughts,

Emotions.

Anything that's on your mind right now,

Just put that to the side and just bring yourself into complete presence.

And now please repeat with me.

I trust 100% that the information I now receive both externally and intuitively is for my highest good.

Breathe that in,

Exhale and let that go.

Exhale and let that go.

Thank you.

Now that our intention is set,

We can move on to the I Ching reading for December 2024 for the human population is hexagram number 27.

Now interestingly,

Last month for November,

It was hexagram number 28.

Number 27 speaks about nourishment.

From the bottom up,

The first trigram consists of a solid yang line followed by two open yin lines.

And this is called thunder.

And thunder has to do with growth and expansion.

The trigram above thunder is the mountain of two open yin lines followed by a solid yang on top.

And the mountain is all about stillness,

Completeness,

And also inevitability.

Now,

If we put these two trigrams together,

We see that the nuclear trigrams within this hexagram are the same.

And they consist of three yin lines,

Which is the primal feminine,

The earth element.

It is passive,

It is yielding,

It speaks to kindness,

Devotion,

Loyalty.

It speaks to kindness,

Devotion,

Loyalty,

And nurturing,

Which brings us back to the title of this hexagram,

Which is nourishment.

So at this time,

We are called to temper ourselves through stillness and self-discipline.

And through the correct nourishment,

There will be much opportunity.

Quote,

This is an auspicious time.

You have to choose what is to be nourished,

In yourself or in another,

After proper and worthy deliberation.

The path to this choice,

Being true,

Will achieve particular success.

This is a remarkable opportunity.

And if you choose that aspect of your own nature or another's that most deserves this enrichment,

You will benefit from good fortune.

However,

If you merely satisfy the cruder appetites,

You may regret it.

In other words,

We must be mindful about what we are seeking to nourish ourselves with,

Or what we are choosing to nourish ourselves with.

We need to be sensible about not only our spiritual choices,

But our physical ones,

As well.

It is interesting that the itching for this hexagram actually speaks directly about food and drink.

And considering that this is the end of the year when much festivity can often take place,

It is quite evident that this is a time of great joy and happiness.

And considering that this is the end of the year when much festivity can often take place,

It is quite apt.

Quote,

Be careful what you consume in terms of food and drink,

As it may not be nourishing,

Just as you may be wrong about your own nature.

Think of your spiritual needs.

End quote.

So if we go back to the symbolism once again of thunder below the mountain,

What does that feel like for you?

What images come to mind?

The way that we interpret the symbolism is reflective of what is taking place in our subconscious.

And so allowing the responses to come through naturally allows the spiritual message to come through as well.

The message from the highest self,

The all-knowing wise part of oneself.

So continue to ponder and contemplate on this visual of the rumbling thunder beneath this still and majestic mountain.

Think about it while you do your chores,

As you go for your walks,

While you sit in nature,

Before you go to sleep at night.

And as you move through the different times of the month,

The different lunar cycles,

You might very well notice that your interpretations will change.

And this type of awareness allows one to get to know oneself at an even deeper level and in a very intimate way.

In closing,

Another guidance from the I Ching for this hexagram of nourishment.

End quote.

The wise man enjoins watchfulness over words and the temperate regulation of eating and drinking.

Being temperate and thoughtful in what you say and in the nourishment you take,

And your consideration for yourself and others will bring you to wisdom.

End quote.

End quote.

Thank you for being here through another I Ching reading and I wish for you a beautiful,

Nourishing,

Joyful end to your 2024.
