So finding yourself in a place where you can connect to your breath.
One of the best places to do this is outside.
So maybe you want to take a chair and sit in your garden or even open a window so that you can feel the freshness of the air fill your home or wherever you choose to practice and just allowing yourself to get settled and begin to tune in to your own natural rhythm.
Becoming the observer of your body as it breathes this element of air that is around us.
Air is such a powerful element.
It gives us life,
It gives us prana.
We are in abundance of air and the oxygen we breathe keeps us alive both when we are awake and when we are asleep,
Consciously and unconsciously.
Feel the air travel in as you breathe in through your nose.
Notice the quality of your breath and the temperature of the air as it draws life into your body and then follow its journey as you exhale and release what you don't need.
We're going to focus on feeling grateful and blessed for this element of air that is keeping us alive.
We'll start by deepening our breath and doing a short counting breath meditation before moving into a little bit of mantra.
We're just going to do equal ratio breath,
So breathing in for the same amount of time as you breathe out,
Controlling your breath.
If the ratio doesn't work for you,
You can change it and bring it lower.
We're going to do five seconds in,
Five seconds out for around about a minute.
I'll prompt you for the first couple of rounds and then you can continue the practice on your own.
Just noticing the air coming in and really feeling how grateful you are that every breath you know that you are going to have enough oxygen to come into your body.
There is no fear or doubt about that.
It will be there to feed you.
So let's just take a cleansing breath to begin by breathing in through our nose and then sighing it out your mouth.
Breathing in for two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Out two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Exhale two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Breathe in two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Out two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Continue like this for the next 30 seconds or so,
Counting your breath,
Changing the rhythm if you need to.
And now just finishing the round that you are on and taking one more round.
Nice.
Release the counting,
Keeping your eyes closed.
We're going to move into mantra straight from here and all we're going to simply do is on the inhale mentally or out loud say the word thank and as we exhale you.
Just being thankful for our breath.
Thank,
Inhale,
Exhale you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Just keep repeating that mantra and feeling grateful for each breath,
Each inhale and each exhale.
This magical element of air that's keeping us alive.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And slowly releasing the mantra and again just taking one more deep inhale through the nose,
Opening the mouth and letting it go.
Trying to set an intention maybe for the day to come back to this practice even if it's just for a second,
Two mindful breaths of thank you's and trying to make some of your breaths today be mindful and in gratitude of the 22,
000 and rough breaths that we take each day.
Thank you for the magical element of air that is keeping me alive.
Have a wonderful day.
