Is there a predominant way of relating to reality,
The world,
Experience,
Day-to-day life?
What's at the forefront in the way that relation is happening?
Is it from a mental level,
Thinking,
Cognition,
And all things thought-related?
Is it emotional?
That's at the forefront.
How does this make me feel?
How am I feeling?
What emotion am I going after?
Is it a more physical thing?
What can I get?
What objects are here?
How am I maneuvering in the environment?
So,
Or maybe it's a more spiritual thing of ideals,
Qualities,
Aspirations,
More subtle things.
So,
I'm reflecting on that and then bringing that to the cushion,
To the meditation practice.
So,
If I'm predominantly relating to the world physically,
Then I think I can immediately switch to some kind of high-minded spiritual notion.
Then maybe that might not work so well.
So,
What's the best way to at least initially start off and recognize that?
Maybe if it's physical,
Then I go to the body.
If it's emotional,
I go to the heart.
If it's the head,
I'm at least aware of the natural disposition and inclination to relate to the world with thinking first.
So,
What do I do about that in my practice?
How do I address that and bring that level of being informed and recognizing into the meditation practice,
Instead of being totally off on all that or pretending it's not there?
