Welcome to Life is a Journey,

Detours included.

Hi,

I'm Rev.

Janice Kreisler and I am excited to be sharing this time with you,

Where together we will explore the journey of the soul.

What if we were to take a detour down a road less travelled,

One called past lives?

What experiences would we uncover there?

Would these stories trigger something in your own cell memory?

Come along with me as together we discover Life is a Journey,

Detours included.

Welcome to Which Way Do I Go,

Episode 4 of Life is a Journey,

Detours included.

Have you ever been on a trip then found yourself at a crossroads?

You have your route all planned then seemingly out of nowhere you find yourself at an intersection you had not planned on.

Now you need to make a decision,

You need to decide which way to turn.

There are options for you to go to your left or right,

You could step forward and go straight ahead or turn around and go back down the path you just travelled.

Are you one who would quickly make up your mind and just go or would you sit and ponder and worry about what to do next?

A huge part of our life journey is composed of making decisions,

Everything from what clothes to wear,

Who to be with if anyone,

Whether to go on a vacation,

Change jobs,

Have children,

Have a pet or what to eat for dinner,

What to believe in,

What not to believe in,

Who to be friends with or stay alone.

When it comes down to it,

Everything in our day to day existence is all about making up our mind on something.

After all,

We are the ones who think then choose how to act and react to any given situation.

There may be times when we feel we have no choice in a matter and physically that may be so,

However,

How we think is ours and ours alone.

Too often people will come to a complete stop when faced with making a decision.

In doing so,

They are depriving themselves an opportunity to evolve and grow in mind,

Body and spirit.

They become complacent and give in to doing the same thing over and over again whether they like it or not rather than taking a chance to change,

To step out of the jail they have created around the known in their lives.

Without realizing it,

They are living totally in the past.

After all,

The near past contains the known,

The future the unknown.

Too often their minds will race to the negative in trying something new.

Once a pattern is established in the subconscious,

It can be difficult to break out but not impossible.

Thank goodness when we were young,

We didn't know any different but to learn and discover new things.

How else would we have learned to talk and walk?

We would fall down,

Hit the floor and get back up again,

Determined this time not only to walk but to run.

What changed in us?

What makes us hesitate when we find ourselves at a crossroad?

As mentioned in the previous episode,

Fears are the roadblocks that prevent us from being all we can be.

They can pop up and if we allow them to,

They will stop us from taking chances,

Finding our confidence in who we are and spreading our wings in flight.

What if we were to face our fears and see them for what they are?

What if we could trace them back to the core fear,

Do healing and dissolve it?

What if that fear could be replaced with something empowering,

Encouraging and inspiring?

After all,

When we find ourselves at such a crossroads,

We have the opportunity to express ourselves and learn lessons from whatever choice we make.

So what could be stopping us?

There is definitely more than one fear and when said out loud,

Some may seem even ridiculous to an onlooker but they are very real to us.

If we truly desire to bring control back into our lives,

First we need to acknowledge the fears that dwell within us.

It is not uncommon for us to have these fears and ideas planted so deep within our subconscious mind that we have no idea where they came from.

Especially if they were embedded in our cell memory from not only our youth but once carried over from a past lifetime.

They may have been with us for so many years,

Even centuries,

That we don't even realize how they started.

Through hypnosis we are able to explore this unknown and perhaps long forgotten path.

Here can lie the key to the mystery,

The source of the fear.

It is not uncommon to carry this fear from one lifetime through many.

Why does this happen,

We may ask?

In each lifetime we will find ourselves in a situation similar to the previous lifetime.

If we make the same decision as we have before,

The results will be the same and no new lesson learned.

Therefore,

The next time around we will be presented with the same fear,

Similar triggers and the opportunity to learn a new lesson.

It is just like being at that crossroads on a trip.

At some point we will need to decide which way to travel.

Each road will provide a unique adventure,

A set of lessons to be learned.

If we allow fear to overtake us,

We will either go back and settle for being in the same place,

Doing the same thing over and over and over again.

If we stay stopped long enough at the crossroads,

Something or someone will come along and move us thus making the decision for us.

People with the fear of making a mistake will often opt out of decision making even for the simplest of things.

They will let others make up their minds for them,

Maybe even complaining about the decisions but all the time they do nothing to change things.

After all it is easier to blame everyone and everything else for our lot in life.

As Albert Einstein is quoted,

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Let's compare it to ordering in a restaurant.

You see something on the menu that sounds like it would be tasty so you order it.

It comes,

You try it and you don't like it at all.

Okay you have had an experience.

What did you learn from it?

You go to the same restaurant again,

Order the same item because your friends like it so why wouldn't you?

You don't want them to think badly of you and who knows,

Perhaps it will be different this time.

You may even tell yourself that you are giving it a second chance.

It comes and tastes just as awful to you as it did the first time.

Now this second time should be the end of this but no because you are afraid of what your friends might think,

You don't let on you like it.

The next time you all go out,

They order the same thing again for you because now they think you like it.

Rather than speaking up and stating your truth,

You choose to follow along making the same mistake time and time again.

Instead of making a decision that was right for you,

You have chosen to allow others to do the thinking for you.

Now of course there are much larger issues in life where the same scenario would apply.

If we hold back and wait,

We find ourselves doing a lot of that,

Waiting.

Waiting for others to make up their minds,

Waiting for the perfect moment in our lives to take that course,

Change jobs,

Move to a new place,

Even go outside.

Waiting to tell someone how much we love them.

Waiting to find joy in our lives.

Waiting,

Waiting,

Waiting and time goes on and guess what?

Nothing changes.

Decision is the thief that we allow to steal away our joy and happiness today.

What if we were to change our outlook on decision making?

Could we take away the fears and begin realizing the choice we make is neither good nor bad but rather a life lesson?

Would we then begin to see these experiences as something to learn from,

Grow from and a tool to be used to assist us in evolving in mind,

Body and spirit?

By looking back on a past life,

Could we then understand the crossroad we are facing today?

Would we have clearer vision on how to make a different decision,

Choose a different path and learn a new lesson?

Early in my hypnotherapy career,

I had a woman,

We will call Louise,

Around 60 years of age book an appointment for weight loss.

However,

Once Louise was in the office,

She asked if it were possible to do a past life regression.

She didn't want any of her friends to know that is what she was coming to see me for as she was afraid they wouldn't understand.

Hmm,

Already starting off with the fear of what others would think.

Louise explained that she had recently retired and felt a great restlessness.

She went on to say that throughout her life and especially now,

This feeling that there was something that needed to be done was always on her mind and she now wanted to get some clarity on where it was rooted.

Little did I know at this time how memorable this session would be for both Louise and myself.

Louise settled into the chair and easily went into a deep hypnosis.

We began with an age regression in this lifetime.

She quickly went back to a scene when she was seven,

Then to another at the age of six,

Then to three or four and younger still.

The interesting thing with Louise was that as she remembered her younger self,

Her language and tone took on that particular age.

It was as though the four-year-old Louise was talking.

All her memories were pleasant and I could tell by observing her body language that her childhood brought fond memories to her.

It was now time to go back to another lifetime,

One that would answer her restlessness today.

Louise,

Can you describe where you are at this moment?

I am at a garden party.

She hesitated for a short moment then said,

Oh,

That is funny.

I didn't think I would see him here.

Who did you see,

I ask?

It is my brother Bob,

My brother in this life.

He doesn't look anything like him but I just know it's him.

He appears very young here.

We don't speak.

He just passes by me and I know it is him.

Can you tell if you are a man,

Woman,

How old you are,

That sort of description?

I am a very young woman,

About 25 years of age.

I have short black hair,

Wearing a dress that reminds me of the early 1920s,

You know,

The roaring 20s.

My name is Sarah.

Do you know if you are single or married?

Louise goes on,

I met a young man named Doug here.

He seems very nice.

He asks me to marry him.

Well,

Let's move forward,

Louise,

In time to see if you,

Sarah,

Marry him.

Yes,

We get married.

We have moved to Ireland.

I get the feeling that is where he is from.

We moved into a very old farmhouse,

Not a very nice looking home.

I feel like nothing ever gets fixed.

I feel like it must be spring as I see cows and their calves and I'm busy planting a garden,

Cleaning the house,

That sort of thing.

Is Doug a farmer then?

Well,

Not really.

He's never around.

He works away for long periods of time.

Her expression changes as she continues,

I am very lonely and it is isolated here.

I don't know anyone here in Ireland and our house is far from town.

I kept asking Louise to move forward in time to describe how her days were spent.

Each day was the same.

She cleaned the house,

Tended the garden,

Did whatever chores needed to be done,

Went to bed.

Most of the time she was alone.

They never had any children and rarely did any friends or family come to call.

Every day was the same.

The only thing that changes was Sarah growing older.

Then one day something did change.

Sarah got news that Doug had died.

She was much older now,

Looking older than what she really was.

Louise,

I asked,

How does Doug's death make Sarah feel?

Well,

Sad of course,

But also a bit afraid.

I don't know how I'm going to live completely on my own.

There are other people at the graveside service for Doug,

So maybe one of these people will help me.

I need to use a cane now and I am just so lonely.

Louise,

I want you to move forward in time and see the next memory of that lifetime.

Perhaps even going to your death to see how old you were,

What you died of,

But remember you are the observer,

Not reliving this,

So there is nothing to fear.

Louise very quickly went to a scene in her home.

Here she started to describe the following.

I am lying in a wooden casket in my living room.

I am wearing a black dress and a white collar.

There are a few people here.

Louise continued speaking so calmly,

Describing in detail what people were doing,

Where they were in her home,

And what she looked like in the casket.

In my head I was screaming,

Wow,

She doesn't seem to realize that she is in spirit and observing her own waking funeral.

How awesome is this?

While not wanting to break the spell of this amazing experience,

I continued in a calm and steady voice.

Louise,

I asked,

How does this scene make you feel?

Louise answers as she slowly shakes her head.

This is awful,

Just awful.

There are people in my house,

But no one here is sad or even pretending to be.

I don't think they care at all.

That is just awful.

Louise I am going to count to three and I want you to move forward in time and tell me what you experience.

One,

Two,

Three.

It takes a moment,

But then Louise's face becomes so relaxed,

Peaceful,

And a small smile stretches across her face.

I can tell by just looking at her that she is definitely somewhere completely different.

Another life perhaps?

Would she,

Could she go between lives?

Louise,

What are you experiencing?

I saw a flash of light,

Bright but not blinding.

It is gone now.

I must be in some kind of limbo.

I sense lights around me and it is as though I can see and I don't have any eyes here without ears and I don't need a mouth to speak.

Louise is anyone with you?

Can you feel any other presences around you?

That same smile and softness flows over her facial expression.

Quietly she says,

God is here.

God is everywhere.

Then the smile is gone.

She sighs.

Louise is something wrong?

No,

But God tells me I have to come back right away.

I have to come back and do something,

Anything with this lifetime.

Not to waste it like I just did,

But to do something,

To live.

Louise was able to recall one more lifetime as well before I brought her out of hypnosis.

Once back in the here and now,

Louise did feel amazed that she was able to go in between lives.

Being told to do anything and to live made sense to her.

She thought back over her life so far and could see where she enjoyed challenging herself with different activities and definitely had family and friends around her.

She also realized that Sarah,

Her previous self,

Died at the same age she is today.

I explained to Louise that it's not uncommon for us to feel restlessness or a feeling that something was about to happen when we reached the same age in this lifetime that we died or had something traumatic happen in a previous lifetime.

A sense of urgency,

Feeling we have so much to get done,

Is not uncommon.

Our cell memory has created a trigger to our ages.

We talked more about in between lives.

Again she mentioned that God,

The feeling of peace and love,

Surrounded her.

There were others there,

But it was more knowing they were there than seeing or actually hearing them.

She would have been content to stay,

But Louise knew she had to make up for that lost lifetime.

It made perfect sense to her now why she had always felt the need to be doing something with her life.

Louise's story is a wonderful example of two things.

One,

The importance of living our life to the fullest in one form or another.

That can all begin with gratitude for what we have and the opportunity to welcome in even more blessings.

Sarah had allowed herself to become a prisoner in her own world by giving in to daily routine without thought or seeking anything else.

She was lonely,

But what did she do to acquire friends,

To show love and compassion to others?

Sarah allowed her loneliness to become her cape and wrapped it around herself tightly.

Her spirit,

However,

Quickly went home and found there the unconditional love and peace she had missed here on earth.

The amazing second thing to learn from Louise's story is the in between lives visit.

Many other clients have described being in spirit in much the same way Louise did.

A complete oneness with other spirits and God or a consciousness,

All one,

Complete love and peace.

There seems to always be a time of reflection on the life just lived,

Not a judgment,

But more to answer the question,

What did I learn?

In Louise's life,

She stayed in the past by always doing what was known to her even though it did not bring her joy or a feeling of belonging and being loved.

She stood still at her crossroads,

Choosing not to make any decision as far as taking in a new direction,

But rather to go back over the path just traveled,

The one she knew.

Every time she found herself at that intersection where change could be made,

She froze,

Allowing the loneliness to send her back.

Now in this life,

She comes with a new and improved map and directions.

When faced with the same or similar crossroads,

Sarah,

Who is now Louise,

Knows what happens if she always goes back and can step out of that prison and choose a new direction.

Louise challenges herself and in that way feels she is living her life to the fullest.

I would say she has overcome the karma from her previous lifetime and is ready to learn and grow in spirit.

Next time you find yourself at a crossroads,

Take a deep breath in and step to the right,

The left,

Or move ahead.

You are the one in control.

Remember if you stay undecided,

Ultimately someone will come along and move you and it may not be where you are meant to go or desire to go.

Release the fear of making a mistake,

The fear of what others think,

And instead take a chance.

Nothing will change if you remain the same.

Should you turn left,

Then discover this is not the direction for me after all?

Learn from it and turn around and choose a different direction.

Experiences are only bad when we refuse to learn from them.

Ready for a new adventure?

Pick a direction and go!

Coming up next in Episode 5,

My map is outdated,

Now what?

As we take a look at those life patterns,

The good,

The bad,

And the ugly that get in the way of our progress in life.

Do you find yourself always attracted to the same negative personalities,

Situations,

Or experiences that leave you wondering,

Why does this always happen to me?

When my map is outdated,

Now what?

We will take a look at how past life patterns can be carried over into this lifetime and what we can do about them.

Perhaps it is the time for you to update your roadmap.
