Hello,
This is Jodi with Big Heart and today's practice is all about letting go,
Stepping into surrender,
Contentment and calling forth peace.
So allow yourself to get into a comfortable position.
Knowing there's nothing you need to fix in this moment,
Nothing to figure out and nowhere else you need to be.
Allow your body to be fully supported by the surface beneath you.
Begin by taking a slow breath in through your nose,
And as you breathe out,
Gently close or cap your eyes.
Take another gentle inhale,
And a longer,
Softer exhale.
With each breath out,
Invite your body to soften,
As if it is learning,
Little by little,
That it's safe to let go.
Now bring your awareness to the top of your head,
And simply notice any sensations there.
Warmth,
Coolness,
Tingling,
Or perhaps nothing at all.
No need to change anything,
Simply notice.
As you inhale,
Imagine your breath arriving here,
And as you exhale,
Feel your scalp soften,
Your forehead smooth,
And the space between your eyebrows relax.
Now let your awareness drift gently down to your eyes,
And allow the muscles around your eyes to rest.
Now unclench your jaw,
Let your tongue rest softly in your mouth,
And then inhale,
Exhale,
Releasing any effort you've been holding.
Now move your attention to your neck and throat,
A place where we often carry unspoken words or unfinished thoughts.
As you breathe here,
Imagine space opening.
Let the breath move freely through the throat,
Inviting ease,
Inviting surrender.
Now bring awareness to your shoulders,
And notice if they are lifting or bracing.
With your next exhale,
Allow your shoulders to melt downward,
As if a weight you had been carrying is finally being set down.
Now allow your arms to soften,
Your elbows to loosen,
Your hands to relax.
You are being,
Being here in this moment.
Now shift your attention to your chest and heart space.
Feel the natural rhythm of the breath here,
The gentle rise and the fall.
There is nothing you need to open or close,
Simply notice how you feel.
If emotions are present,
Allow them to be here.
If stillness is present,
Allow that too.
Bring your awareness to your belly now.
Feel it expand slightly as you inhale,
And soften as you exhale.
Let your breath be easy.
This is the breath of contentment.
There is nothing missing,
And nothing extra.
Just simply pause and breathe.
Now guide your awareness down through your hips,
Into your thighs,
Down into your knees and calves,
All the way into the soles of your feet.
Feel the weight of your body resting now.
Feel gravity holding you.
There is nothing you need to hold together right now.
The earth has you.
Take a moment now to feel the body as a whole.
One quiet field of breath and sensation.
Resting in something greater than effort.
Notice how life is already happening through you.
When the breath arrives on its own,
The heart continues its steady rhythm.
You are being held even when you forget how to hold yourself.
Pause and breathe.
With each exhale,
Offer a soft inner permission.
I am willing to lay this down.
Not all at once,
Not perfectly,
Just enough for this breath.
I am willing to lay this down.
Whatever has been heavy,
Whatever has asked you to stay strong,
Whatever has lingered longer than it needed to,
Allow it to loosen now.
You don't need to name it.
You don't even need to understand it.
The body remembers how to let go long before the mind does.
Surrender is not giving up.
It is remembering that you were never meant to carry this all alone.
It is the soft moment when effort gives way to trust and you allow yourself to be met with the quiet intelligence that has been guiding you all along.
Feel that presence deep within your core.
Rest in this unguarding.
As your body settles into this letting go,
You'll allow a simple sound to arise naturally,
A vibration that carries the essence of peace.
The mantra today is Shanti.
You don't need to repeat it perfectly,
And you don't need to hold it tightly.
Simply allow it to drift through the mind like a whisper,
Like a prayer.
Allow the breath to carry it.
Shanti.
Repeating that gently within you over and over.
When your attention wanders away,
Tenderly return to the sound and feeling and presence of peace.
For the next several minutes rest here,
Repeating over and over.
Allow the mantra to fade.
Return to the natural rhythm of your breath.
The rise and fall of your chest as you breathe.
Notice how your body feels now.
Notice the quality of your mind.
Allow yourself to carry this sense of letting go with you.
This quiet contentment.
Nothing to chase,
Nothing to resist.
Peace is already here.
As your practice comes to a close,
Keeping your eyes closed for a moment longer.
Thanking yourself for showing up for you today.
Namaste.
