Efficient charging Beginning the process of settling in,

And welcoming the morning body and the morning mind.

And bringing some intentionality to this quality of welcoming.

As the body begins to agree to the upright shape,

There will also be disagreement,

Some discomfort.

So intentionally welcoming the body that is here.

Taking a global awareness of the whole body.

And noticing where opposition to how it feels shows up.

The micro struggles of the body or the mind against the way the body is.

And for example,

If your left shoulder is sore,

To what degree can you fully let that be there without any resistance?

Making space for sensations to be themselves.

Making space for what is to appear as it is on its own terms.

Company of light okabye trust The bell is invited.

Closing the eyes or having them partially open.

And if you have any rituals of intention or inviting lineage,

Allies,

Ancestors,

Inviting those connections.

And recognizing and allowing the autonomic functions of the body.

So don't breathe,

But let the body breathe.

Let the spine hold up the body.

Let the senses sense.

And begin to contact the pleasure of sleep.

The way you orient when you're welcoming sleep to enter you.

The way in which you tuck away the world.

Your comfort concerns on the shelf.

Noticing that quality of sleep,

Yet sustaining enough presence that you do not go unconscious.

And if not the pleasure of sleep.

The pleasure,

The peace of inwardness.

The relief of not needing to attend to anything outside.

It may be that the sleep sensation is in the head.

Somewhere behind the eyes.

And you may be able to let that drip down and suffuse more of the body.

Like a warm and golden light.

A warm nectar spreading.

Absorbing within this sensation of sleep pleasure,

Innerness,

Feeling a consent to entering it fully.

The peace of release more compelling than all the little strings that tug at attention.

And yet attention is there sustaining consciousness in this welcoming dark,

This inner pleasure.

Wakefulness like a night light or a candle.

And we more and more consent to this letting go into the body expressing this letting go.

The exhalation allowed to be complete.

It may be sufficient to keep a bead,

To stay in touch with this quality of peace,

This withinness.

Or you may find attention needs a little bit more toe hold.

Perhaps your interior has a sound or a vibration that you hear or that you feel.

Perhaps the beating of the heart offers toe hold.

Staying nestled within.
