Did you mean we can get to the deeper space when we practice Sunday meditation continuously even without participating in longer retreats?
It's going to be a little difficult.
But at the same time,
It's not impossible.
Because individuals can differ.
But generally speaking,
Doing it for 30 minutes a day it's going to be difficult for you to go deep inside yourself.
It's like digging a well,
Right?
Instead of digging it until you hit the water,
Deep enough to hit the water,
You're just starting to dig,
Then going back,
And then stopping,
And coming back to start to dig again.
But what I can say is that even if you do it every day,
You will be able to go deeper and deeper.
But what I can say is that for a person who has initially experienced a long session,
Or consistent constant session,
In which he or she has experienced that depth at least once,
They can follow up with a smaller or shorter meditation periods and still get there.
However,
Doing it little by little every day,
Or doing it once every Sunday,
Is a lot better than not doing it at all.
I think it will definitely help you in your everyday life.
However,
Trying to get to a deep space,
But doing it a short time,
Then that itself is being greedy.
It's almost trying to get at the result without putting in the requisite effort.
If that was the case,
Then why would Buddha himself have gone through six years of very difficult training or practice?
Of course,
Today,
I'm not saying that you have to practice like Buddha did.
Because Buddha did not have a guide at that time,
And he was pioneering a new path,
There was a lot of mishits during his practice.
And after that long journey,
He was able to discover the middle way and also discover the path to enlightenment.
And he was able to kind of teach that to us,
To show us the right way.
Because in that sense,
We have a much easier path because it's a path that's already traveled,
Already has been pioneered.
However easy or correct that path may be,
No one can actually walk that path for you.
We have to walk it ourselves.
And the habits we carry with us,
The ingrained habits,
The layer of karma we have,
We have to overcome ourselves.
To overcome this barrier,
It's going to be difficult for you to do so by practicing 30 minutes a week,
Or just a couple of minutes a day.
So to summarize,
Even if you do it 30 minutes a week or 30 minutes a day,
It's a lot better than not doing it at all.
But to be able to get to that deeper space you speak of by this kind of frequency of meditational practice,
It's going to be difficult.
But since it's better doing it than not doing it at all,
I urge you to continue your practice,
Even the weekend practice.
But if you want to kind of change your fundamental makeup or heal any deep-seated trauma,
Or experience a kind of a more deeper changes in your inner space,
Then you have to kind of invest a lot of time,
A lot of energy,
And a lot of time in your practice.
And not just once,
Even that investment in time has to come at a regular basis.
So that's why I keep telling you that you're doing this but you are enduring doing meditation,
Then you won't last that long because enduring something creates stress.
That's why in order to do this continuously and constantly,
You have to approach it from a relaxed and comfortable state of mind.
So if you have 10 minutes,
Then go ahead for 10 minutes.
If you have several hours in a day,
That's good too.
And if you can invest over 10 days straight,
That's great.
So whatever circumstances allows you,
But without tension,
Without making an overt effort,
That will lead to more stress.
