I'm going to have a talk with you about the state of well-being.
This is the greatest state you can reach emotionally,
Psychologically,
Spiritually,
And I'll cover all three facets.
I'll give you the symptoms of what it's like to be in a state of well-being.
First of all,
There is no internal civil war going on,
Meaning you have worked through your unresolved childhood,
Teenagehood,
College days,
Conflicts.
What do I mean by conflict?
When you're growing up,
You learn to adopt the truth of your adult caretakers or society or church or mosque.
So then anything you learn growing up that's not at one with your own nature is going to cause a conflict.
Like your mother says,
I want you to act like a lady.
And then 40 years later,
Your concept of lady clashes with what your mom thought was how a lady should behave.
So there's a clash there.
If you multiply this by a thousand,
Then you have an internal civil war.
If your dad was always worrying about money,
So you learn to worry about money.
Now you're doing quite well and your direct experience of money is different from what your father taught you.
That creates an internal civil war.
In a state of well-being,
You've learned to individuate.
Individuation means your umbilical cord is now separated from your adult caretakers and the society that brought you up.
So you have your own concept of God.
You have your own understanding of money,
What it's like to be ladylike or a gentleman.
Through direct experience,
You have your own set of values,
Beliefs,
And you go back to your own direct experiences.
So if your father was always worried about money,
But you find that you have a good relationship with money,
So then you have your direct experience with money.
And now in a state of well-being,
You have your own values.
You may have really appreciated your teachers and your parents,
But you've cut the umbilical cord.
You now know who you are,
Where you're going,
What your values are,
And which beliefs make more sense to you.
That's at the emotional,
Psychological level.
