Today we will discuss how the chakras completely affect our connection to Spirit. My dear friend, Pierre Bensusan, has permitted me to use his track called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'.

Namaste and welcome to the Spirit Room's daily podcast,

In the Flow with Laurie Elbert,

Where we discuss spirituality,

Meditate,

And allow positivity to envelop every aspect of our souls.

Welcome.

I live a spirit-led life.

So when I meditate on topics,

This is kind of how I work this through,

If that makes any sense.

I decide what I'm going to talk about based on what spirit leads me to.

Let's just say it that way,

Right?

So I'm assuming,

Which we should really never do,

Right?

That if you are here today,

That you're probably at least sort of familiar with the word chakra.

The chakras are the astral energy centers of the body,

But interestingly,

In Sanskrit,

It actually means wheel.

The word chakra means wheel.

So that might be why that sometimes you see chakras depicted as circles,

Or we talk about getting them spinning when we're opening up our chakras and that sort of thing,

Right?

So the chakras themselves are defined in multiple ways via the various religions and schools of thought that are out there,

Okay?

So if you are interested in learning about the different ways that the different religions view the chakras,

It's so incredibly fascinating.

It's so fascinating because the chakras have been talked about,

Let's just say,

As far back as the Rig Veda,

Which was,

They think,

Was written in 1500 BCE,

Okay?

So the chakra sort of system has been around a very long time,

A very long time.

So now what I want to get into,

Each of the seven main chakras,

They have their own characteristics and mantras and aspects to our bodies that they are sort of dominant over,

Okay?

And what my plan is,

I'm going to give you today,

I'm going to give you a quick sort of overview on all of the chakras,

But my plan is in the next seven days that I'm talking,

We are going to highlight the individual seven main chakras,

Okay?

Because there's seven main ones,

But there's a lot more,

Okay?

And I'm going to highlight one chakra each day,

And we're going to talk about how each one of those relates to us working with spirit.

And when I say working with spirit,

It might seem like that I'm talking about people that are lightworkers or people that work with all of this,

Right?

Even if you are not considering yourself a lightworker,

Number one,

Let me just tell you,

I think you are.

I think we are all lightworkers in one way or another.

You might be just a lightworker for yourself for right now,

But I believe,

I really believe that we all have our own sort of journey,

And some of us are open to all of this work,

And some of us are like just getting started,

And you might not think anything about it.

So just imagine and just sort of consider that maybe you are a lightworker,

Okay?

Even if it's just for yourself,

Okay?

All right.

So now,

Let me get started on each of the main chakras,

Okay?

You probably know these,

But I just,

Or at least the general things about each of these chakras,

But I want to go over them.

Okay,

So the first chakra,

Which is at the base of the spine,

Is the root chakra,

Okay?

It's called the Mooladhara,

Okay?

And it's sort of,

Its element is earth,

Okay?

So when we talk about grounding ourselves,

That's usually,

And we'll get into that next time,

We'll get,

You know,

The root chakra is about grounding ourselves and that sort of thing.

Now,

Interestingly,

And this is what I love about the chakras,

It's so exciting,

To me it is.

Anyway,

The note related to the root chakra is C.

Each has its own note,

Each has its own organs in the body that it sort of rules over,

Different emotions,

All of that stuff,

Right?

So the root chakra,

The Mooladhara,

Is the C note,

And the color is red.

All right,

So the next chakra,

If you move up your body,

Just kind of in your gut,

Well,

No,

A little lower than your gut,

Below your belly button,

Okay?

That would be the sacral chakra.

And the note that is associated with that is D,

Okay?

And I'm giving you the notes just to overview here,

Because if you ever feel like that you are imbalanced in one of these,

You can,

You know,

Like I have my heart chakra singing bowl,

And if I feel like I just want to oomph in my heart chakra,

I'll play the singing bowl,

Right?

So anyway,

Okay,

So the chakra,

The sacral chakra is the D note,

Okay?

Svadhisthana is the name for it,

And it rules over water,

Creativity,

Right?

It's about that,

Okay?

So then you move up a little bit more,

And just above your belly button is the solar plexus.

Now again,

I'm going over these really fast right now,

Because I wanted to give you an overview,

But we're going to get into each one,

And I'm going to get a little bit more detailed in the upcoming days,

Okay?

So solar plexus,

It's the Manipura,

Okay?

And that note is E.

So if you notice,

If you start with the root chakra,

It's C and D and then E,

Okay?

So if that makes sense.

The color for this one is yellow,

And its element is fire,

Which,

You know,

It's so funny,

And I don't even know,

I've never heard anybody really talk about people feeling more close,

Let's just say,

To one chakra more than others.

But for me,

I just feel like the Manipura chakra,

The solar plexus,

Just for some reason,

Maybe it's because my favorite color is yellow,

I don't know,

You know?

So I just feel really like that's my chakra.

So,

All right.

So then we move up to right in the heart,

And that is the heart chakra,

The Anahata.

And the color for that is green,

And the element for that is air.

And guess what?

The note for that then is F,

Right?

Because we're continuing up.

Isn't that interesting?

It's also,

And I could go on and on,

And I'll get into this more.

It's amazing how that all works.

It's amazing how it all works,

Right?

So,

Then we have the throat chakra.

The note is G,

Okay?

Vishuddha is the name of that chakra.

And that element is space.

And then we move up a little bit more.

And the last two chakras don't really,

Truly have like an element attached to it.

So I always kind of look at it like it's ethereal,

Okay?

So,

The third eye chakra,

The Ajna chakra,

Is the note associated with that is A,

Okay?

And it's more ethereal,

You know?

And then finally,

The crown chakra,

Which actually sits just above the top of your head,

Okay?

That is the crown chakra,

Okay?

And the note for that is B.

And that is the Sahasrara chakra.

And that's more like ethereal as well.

And again,

I'm going to get into all of this,

Right?

So,

Each of these chakras,

They kind of do their own thing.

They monitor a specific area of your body.

And when we are working with spirit,

We're doing the work of spirit,

Whether it's doing readings or healing,

Or even if it's our own personal work with spirit,

We can tap into whichever energy is needed,

Okay?

So,

For example,

If I'm not feeling exactly so connected to the earth,

I might feel a little bit restless,

Okay?

Maybe a little bit low self-esteem or even anxious,

That sort of thing.

That usually means that I need a bit more connection with Mother Earth,

Okay?

And,

You know,

There are things that I can do to feel that connection again,

Okay?

And this is important as we work with spirit on our own,

Or if we're a lightworker with other people,

It's important to keep ourselves balanced.

I do a lot of work,

A lot of work on my own chakras.

I mean,

To me,

It is really important to do a lot of work on the chakras.

I meditate and actually feel more connected to some of the chakras on some days and other chakras on other days.

But the most important thing when we are just beginning on our spiritual journey as a lightworker is to understand and work on keeping them balanced,

Okay?

I hope that makes sense.

So today,

We're just going to gently sit and we're going to sit for a few minutes and we're going to meditate.

And the mantra we're going to use is simply Aum,

Okay?

And I chose Aum because the word Aum is all-encompassing.

It takes all of the chakras,

It takes all of the energy.

And Aum is the word,

Apparently,

It encompasses every sound,

Every tone,

Every note that is out there,

Okay?

And it's all encompassed in Aum.

And so that's why I thought,

Let's do Aum today,

Okay?

So let's get ourselves comfortable.

We're only going to sit for like two minutes,

But those two minutes can make all the difference in the world for you,

Okay?

So get comfortable,

Close your eyes,

Relax your body.

Let's take a nice deep breath in and release it.

And again,

Our mantra for today is Aum.

And so you can follow me because I'm going to continue on with Aum and we'll do this together,

Okay?

Namaste.
