Hi and welcome to In the Flow with Lorie Albert,
A podcast designed to teach us to manifest our best lives in every moment and every day.
Let's get in the flow.
How do we get past getting burned by trusted,
Or so we thought,
Friends?
That's a hard one,
Don't you think?
It's a really hard thing to talk about.
It's a hard thing to think about.
We get burned,
Right?
I feel pretty certain that most of us have experienced that.
You've been in that position,
That position where we have a friend that we thought had our backs.
Could be an old friend or a new friend,
To be honest.
Someone that the energy felt right.
We thought we somehow knew them.
You thought because you read the energy.
This is sort of from a spiritual perspective.
A lot of people don't understand feeling that energy kind of thing.
But it's reality.
I mean,
That's the way it is,
Right?
You feel this energy between you and somebody else.
Do you ever meet somebody and then all of a sudden you're just like,
Whoa,
I feel like I've known you my whole life.
And that's great.
But sometimes things happen and you feel like that you were able to trust that person only to find out that you seriously misjudged the situation,
The person,
Whatever,
Right?
And then you go down that road,
That horrible road where you feel stupid.
You feel betrayed.
You question yourself.
You question all your judgments.
That's what happens.
Sometimes that actually happens,
Right?
So yes,
We put ourselves through so,
So much during the course of every single day.
We put ourselves through so much.
Oh my gosh.
Catherine's like,
Yes,
Yes,
Yes,
And yes,
Absolutely.
Rachel.
Hi Barbara.
Yay.
And Rita.
Hello.
Hello.
And Kim,
You know,
But that's what it is,
Right?
We put ourselves through so much.
We judge ourselves so,
So much,
Right?
But you know what?
Here's the crux of it all.
I talk a lot about gratitude,
So,
So much,
Right,
To the point of nauseum,
I'm sure,
Right?
But for the great things in our lives,
Right?
But with this topic,
I feel like it's time to talk about being grateful for the,
Dare I say it,
Less than great things that happened to us.
Kind of,
You know,
Throughout your life,
Right?
The good things,
Bad things,
You know,
Like why we get screwed over by people or somebody.
Now,
You might think,
Why on God's green earth would I ever be thankful for getting screwed over by somebody?
Why would I ever be thankful for that?
Right?
It's not about being thankful for somebody screwing this over.
It's about the lesson.
It's the lesson that we learn from getting screwed over.
Isn't that terrible?
But if we can do that,
You know,
And I have been accused of throughout my life and my mother too.
My mother was this very same way,
Finding like that little positive thing that kind of makes everything okay,
Right?
People call it being a Pollyanna,
But you know what?
Because I'm generally a happy person,
Bring on the Pollyanna.
Some people think that that's like bad,
But to me,
That keeps me happy.
So why would I,
Why would I care about that?
Do you know what I mean?
So if you want real lasting happiness in your life,
You must find the lessons.
Find the gratitude in the lessons that happened to you in your life.
The good things,
The less than good things.
It's about taking that really lousy situation and finding what you've learned.
It's about the introspection of it.
And it's interesting because when I was a kid,
That's kind of how I rolled and that's kind of how my mom rolled and that whole thing.
But I never looked at it as introspection before.
And I,
And I,
So that's why I really kind of wanted to point that out today.
You know,
There's,
There's good in everybody.
There's good in every situation.
Might be a little kernel,
But it's there I think.
Right.
Okay.
So getting back to our example,
Right?
That trusted friend that really screws you over by making up,
And I'm making this up by the way,
This didn't happen to me,
But making up a lie,
Right?
You thought you knew this person.
You thought you trusted this person.
And this person makes up a lie and tells everybody,
You know,
This,
This horrible lie.
What a terrible situation,
Right?
It's a terrible situation,
Right?
So no matter how you try to rectify it,
People may not seem,
They may seem to like,
Look at you differently because you made it up in your head,
Of course,
But they seem like they look at you differently than they did before.
And that seems pretty dire.
That whole example,
That seems really pretty dire,
Right?
But here's the part to be grateful for in this example.
Okay.
Through this situation,
It's bad,
It's horrible,
It makes you feel less than,
I get that,
Right?
You learn a couple of things from that.
You learn who your true friends are.
Okay.
Number one,
Number two,
You learn who you can trust.
Who can you trust in that situation,
Right?
You learn something about who you want to be in the future.
You learn about yourself.
Who do you really want to be?
I guarantee you,
If you ever got in that situation where somebody lied about you or whatever,
You will never lie about somebody else,
Right?
Because you then know how it feels and that is where we find the gratitude.
That is the part to be grateful for.
There's always,
You know,
Okay.
So I always say this,
As I sit here and say that,
But I always say this,
There is always,
Always,
Always something to be grateful for.
I've seen that by many people and I say that a lot.
There's always,
Always,
Always something to be grateful for in any situation.
And some people say that that's sort of living on a lie kind of thing,
But it's not.
It's protection of yourself,
Right?
It's like protection of yourself.
It's so easy to find the great things to be grateful for in our lives.
You know,
When things are going swimmingly,
It's easy to find the gratitude,
But in the difficult situations,
It's challenging.
But if you can find that little tiny sliver of an aspect to be grateful for,
Your vibration will stay higher.
And I love that.
Oh my gosh,
Love that.
Stay in that higher vibrational place and finding that little tiny sliver of the gratitude is a good place to start.
I'm not saying it's the be all end all of it all of everything,
But it helps.
It helps keep your vibration up.
You know,
And I always end up going back to the second of the four agreements.
Don't take anything personally.
That could be part of this too.
Right?
There could be like the gratitude part of it,
Finding that little sliver of gratitude,
But also too,
It's the second of that four agreements.
Don't take anything personally because guess what?
It doesn't have anything to do with you.
Why these people,
Why this so-called friend lied about you?
That says more about her than it does you.
Right?
And then,
So if you take that to the next logical step,
What's going on in their life?
Then we can start,
You know,
That they would do that.
Then you start thinking of,
Well,
Maybe I need to show some compassion to that person.
Right?
That is the part of,
That's where we can get our,
Keep our vibration high.
That's how that kind of works itself through.
I hope that makes sense.
There's so much to say about this,
You know?
So we're going to meditate on this.
Yay.
Okay.
Even just for a minute,
Because I just realized that it's late.
Okay.
So let's close our eyes just for a minute.
We're going to sit in the stillness and let's think for just a few seconds.
What are a few things that you are just grateful for right here,
Right now?
What comes into your consciousness that feels like you are grateful?
There's so much that if we really look at our lives,
That we can feel the gratitude.
Okay.
So our mantra,
Our affirmation for today is this,
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
Let's just repeat that to ourselves,
Understanding for just a few minutes.
I see and feel the light in every situation in every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation of every day.
I see and feel the light in every situation and every day.
We can start bringing our awareness back to ourselves.
Take a deep breath in,
Breathing in this mantra and feeling the light.
Release.
Awesome.
Namaste.
Namaste.
