Welcome to In the Flow,
A positivity-provoking podcast designed to lift us up to that higher place to live our best lives.
We will laugh,
Cry,
Meditate,
And discuss any and all things spiritual to learn and remove any stigma surrounding spiritual gifts,
Meditation,
Prayer,
And the afterlife.
So today is the World Meditation Day and it is May 21st and you may be listening to this some other time,
I don't know,
But it is World Meditation Day and honestly,
This is the kind of international day I can get behind,
Right?
You know,
You hear about,
I don't know,
The International Day of Blankets and tennis shoes or kite flying.
You know,
I mean,
You hear about all these International Day of's,
You know,
But I think this one has the ability to change us on the inside and change our world,
Right?
This particular International Day of Meditation,
World Meditation Day,
Has the ability to change our lives,
Right?
For the better,
You know?
And so my message today that feels so strong is that,
You know,
In honor of World Meditation Day,
If you've never tried meditation,
Try it today.
If you do meditate and you're a beginner,
Maybe step up your game just a little bit,
Right?
And if you are a master meditator,
Let's inspire others to find the stillness inside because that is the ultimate of what meditation brings us.
Stillness and presence,
Right?
I love that.
That is my favorite thing about meditation is that it brings the stillness from within.
You know,
In meditating,
You know,
I've told you guys that I've been meditating for almost daily.
There were some days.
There are some days whenever I just don't get to do it or whatever,
But I didn't because I have been really good lately.
After all,
I am a meditation teacher.
I should be pretty decent at it,
Right?
I just can't say enough for what it has done to my mental health.
You know,
Obviously,
This might sound crazy,
But my physical health as well,
Right?
My physical health,
I had a couple years ago,
I had a procedure done and the lady was taking my blood pressure and my heart rate and everything.
She goes,
Your heart rate is so good.
She's like,
Do you run?
And I laughed out loud because I'm definitely not a runner.
I have severe arthritis in my feet.
Don't run,
Right?
And she goes,
How is it that your blood pressure,
Everything is so good?
And I said,
It's because I'm a meditator.
I meditate.
So it helps your emotional health.
It helps your physical health.
It helps your mental state and throughout the day.
Throughout the day.
I mean,
If you meditate first thing in the morning,
Even if it's only for a couple of minutes,
It has the potential to change the trajectory of your day.
You know,
When all those things start getting thrown at you,
You're a different person than you are.
Like,
You know,
Imagine two ways to wake up,
Right?
One way is the first way is to wake up and you're crazy and you just,
You're late,
You grab your coffee and you're out there and you're so far behind that you're thinking,
Oh my God,
I got to do this.
I got to do that.
I got to do this.
You know,
That sort of thing.
But the second way to wake up is you set your alarm,
Right?
You wake up and you just sit in meditation for starting out five minutes,
10 minutes and you are filled with peace and you are filled with presence.
You're aware of the present moment.
When you're hurried,
You don't understand the present moment.
You know,
It's kind of like that song,
Stop and Smell the Roses.
You know,
So that's what meditation is good for.
Okay,
So what are we going to do?
We're going to meditate.
Of course,
Of course you guys.
So,
All right,
Let's get ourselves comfortable because we're going to meditate on this and we're going to get back to,
We're going to do the basics.
We're going to focus on our breath today,
Right?
We're going to focus on our breath.
So,
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
If you want to bundle yourself up with a blankie,
Which I wish I really had right now and I don't,
But how you can bundle yourself up with a blankie or lay down or just sit upright,
Whatever feels good for you.
Close your eyes and start to sink into your chair or bed wherever you are.
Then you can start to feel your body relaxing.
So let's take a nice,
Really slow,
Deep breath in and release it.
That's so perfect.
Isn't that beautiful?
You can start to feel with the breath.
You can feel your body relaxing into yourself.
Right?
Beautiful.
So today,
I would like to ask a sacred question,
One of David G's sacred question.
This is to start to understand ourselves a little bit better,
Right?
Who are you when you are being your best self?
Who are you being?
Who are you?
Like what qualities do you have when you are being your best self?
Who are you?
That's such a great question to comprehend because when we really start to think of who we are from the inside,
Deep down,
We start to know ourselves better.
We start to get a better idea as to truly who we are because this question isn't for anybody else.
It's not for anyone's ears.
It's only for ourselves.
Who are you being when you are at your best?
And then the next question is,
What is an intention that you can set for yourself today for while we are starting our meditation?
So let's set our intention for the day.
Very good.
So as we sit in the stillness,
We will focus on our breath today.
Every breath in and out.
In and out.
I will keep the time and let's focus on our breath.
Let's begin.
Breathing in and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
You can start to bring your awareness back and stop focusing on your breath.
Let's take a nice deep breath in.
And release it.
The feeling and intention that we've created for ourselves and the peace that we've brought into our beings.
Perfect.
Beautiful.
Whenever you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
So I wish all of you a wonderful World Meditation Day.
Even if you're listening to this later and it's not even World Meditation Day anymore.
Get up there and meditate.
So thank you so much for being with me.
As always,
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
