Welcome to In the Flow,
A positivity-provoking podcast designed to lift us up to that higher place to live our best lives.
We will laugh,
Cry,
Meditate,
And discuss any and all things spiritual to learn and remove any stigma surrounding spiritual gifts,
Meditation,
Prayer,
And the afterlife.
And hello there.
So,
So much to share,
As always.
Are you surprised?
So the other day,
I became a little bit frustrated with where I have been spiritually,
Right?
And the reason for this is I was in a class on the ancient texts,
Okay,
With David Gee,
As a matter of fact.
And he was talking about all these ways of,
You know,
Like the limbs of yoga and how to reach,
You know,
How to reach enlightenment and nirvana,
And we were talking about all that.
And I was like,
Does anybody,
Can anybody ever reach this?
It seems like a daunting task.
You know what I mean?
It seems so daunting because it's,
It's like,
It's so,
There's so much to learn and so much to do.
And so,
And we're just humans and blah,
Blah,
Blah,
All this stuff started coming up,
Right.
And I was like,
How is it that I can be like,
Is it possible even to achieve this,
Achieve peace even,
You know?
And I was reminded by him that,
You know,
This is all about the path.
This isn't like a race to the finish.
You know,
We're all on our own path.
And then it made me think about the words that I say to you guys all the time.
If you guys listen,
Especially around the time of Mercury being in retrograde,
Right,
I talk about patience and persistence.
And it just,
It was like,
It hit me between the eyes because this is what we need to recognize about ourselves and our lives.
And so I was relating it in terms of my spirituality and where I'm at spiritually,
But it can be for anything.
You know,
We are all on this path individually.
And regardless of where we are right now,
We are moving forward.
Sometimes we may not feel like we are,
But we are moving forward.
We're learning,
We're being,
We're creating,
And we need to have persistence and patience in our path,
Whatever that path looks like to you.
Everybody has a different path that they're on,
Right?
Everybody is creating their own way of living.
Right?
Now here's the next part of that,
Right?
Okay,
So we're talking about being patient and persistent in our own spiritual path,
Our human path,
Our path,
Just however it looks for you,
Right?
We're talking about that,
Right?
But then how do we,
How can we really keep moving forward?
How do we,
You know,
Okay,
So we attain the patience and the persistence and that's great,
Right?
But how do we keep moving forward?
Every single spiritual text,
Ancient spiritual text,
The Rig Veda,
These texts are thousands of years old,
Right?
And do you know what the common thread is?
I think you might know what I'm going to say because I talk about it all the time.
It's meditation.
It's meditation is the common denominator of it all.
And how to attain even in that little tiny part of the joy that we're trying to get to or the peace that we're trying to find in our lives.
Isn't that interesting?
All the spiritual texts.
I mean,
Meditation can also mean prayer.
So if you look into the Bible,
It talks about prayer,
Obviously,
If you look at all of the different the Rig Veda,
The Yoga Sutras,
Bhagavad Gita,
All of it talks about meditation.
So that's what we're going to do.
Imagine that we're going to meditate,
Right?
Because we need to create our own practice.
And even if you start out and it's only 10 minutes a day,
That's 10 minutes of meditation that's going to help you persist,
Right?
I do this almost every day with you guys because I want us all to get to a place of peace.
Wouldn't it be great if we were all able to get to that place of nirvana?
Oh my gosh,
Right?
So we get there by being patient in our meditation practice and our learning.
So let's get ourselves comfortable because we are going to meditate.
Are you surprised?
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Seat yourself in the chair or you can be lying down,
Whatever is comfortable because here's the thing,
And this is why I started doing this every day in the first place,
Because I want to help you create an ongoing path of meditation,
An ongoing practice of meditation,
Right?
So I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for us all.
So we get ourselves comfortable and let's take a nice deep breath in really,
Really slow.
Okay,
So breathe in slowly and let it go.
Let the air go to every cell in your body and release it.
Awesome.
Very good.
There's something about that first deep breath of the day that just takes you into that place of peace.
So again,
Going with the theme sort of getting back to basics,
We're going to focus on our breath and our mantra today will be OM.
And if for some reason you stop saying you forget OM or if thoughts and things start to come into your mind,
Just push them aside and focus on your breath.
Breathing in and out.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
OM.
OM.
OM.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and release it.
Very good.
Whenever you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
How beautiful.
So today I invite you to take this with you today in all aspects of your life.
Patience and persistence.
I mean,
That's what we need in our lives,
Don't you think?
Patience and persistence.
Our spiritual life and our human life.
And know that you are right where you are supposed to be.
Oh,
I love that.
So thank you for joining today.
As always,
I love each and every one of you from my heart to yours.
Namaste everybody.
