Mindfulness is about being fully present within your mind, body & soul. Within our hectic daily lives, taking time to step back and become fully present allows us to connect with our loved ones, our lives and Spirit in a very significant way. My intro music is by my dear friend, Pierre Bensusan. The track is called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'.

Hello and welcome to In the Flow with Lori Albert,

A positivity-provoking podcast.

I love that.

It's the three P's.

So today we're talking about Right Mindfulness.

Right Mindfulness in Buddhism is one of the eightfold paths to enlightenment.

So what is Right Mindfulness?

Right Mindfulness is about being fully present.

I don't just mean like,

Okay,

So I'm sitting here right now.

I mean fully present.

It's about being present with your mind,

With your body,

And with your soul.

Like fully,

Full on present.

So my thought is this.

It's like our days are filled with so much craziness.

How do you find that peace?

How is it that you find that ability to be present?

Our lives are crazy,

Busy,

You know?

And I think that meditating on being present has been one of the things that has brought me to a place of peace and joy,

You know,

Truly.

Because if we allow ourselves,

Okay,

Let's just say you're going through a really,

Really stressful time,

Right?

You know,

Challenging,

Right?

I know so many people that are a little bit challenged right now,

Let's just say,

You know?

As I am too,

I'm actually going through some stuff that is pretty challenging.

How do you get,

What is one of the tools in your tool basket,

You know,

To help us get over that?

Meditating and being in the present moment.

You know,

Yesterday I had the opportunity,

Let's just say it this way,

I had the opportunity to multitask,

Right?

Because I was doing one thing,

But I could have been doing a couple other things at the same time.

And I know how like,

When you,

Okay,

I'm just going to like spill it all out,

Straight out.

Sometimes when I'm listening to a podcast or I'm listening to something,

I'll play a game on my phone because it,

For some reason,

I don't know if it's the ADD in me or whatever,

But for some reason it helps me to like focus on whatever's being said.

I don't know why.

But to me that's multitasking,

Right?

So yesterday I decided I was going to be fully present.

I was in a class with David Gee,

As a matter of fact,

And I could have been doing all this other stuff because I had this to do that to do this to do,

You know,

But I decided,

Okay,

I'm going to be fully present.

And I got so much more,

You know,

Not that I,

This is like not brain surgery.

This is not like,

You know,

I got so much more out of it,

The class,

Then I would have had I been,

You know,

Had I been doing this or doing that.

Why do we do that?

Why do we sell ourselves short?

This is our lives.

If I didn't want to be in the class and be fully present,

Why would I be in the class?

You know what I mean?

So that's what we are meditating on today.

I have an amazing mantra that I found that just hits my heart like nothing has in a while,

Right?

So let's get ourselves comfortable because we're going to meditate on this.

Okay,

So get yourself comfortable,

Seated,

Laying,

Whatever works for you with your legs crossed,

Or feet flat on the floor.

Let's take a nice,

Really good deep breath in and release.

Doesn't that feel good?

Let's do that one more time.

Deep breath in and release it.

Perfect.

So before we sit in the silence with our mantra,

Let's get ourselves to a place of gratitude.

What are you grateful for today?

Right here,

Right now,

Being present in the present moment,

What are you grateful for?

What is it about whatever's going on in your life,

Even if it's challenging or less than perfect?

I know that there's one thing that you're grateful for.

There always is at least one thing.

Because when we focus on that one thing,

That's what starts to bring us out.

Bring us out of that negative place and start to bring us into the light.

So what is that one thing that you're grateful for?

Our mantra for today.

Before I give it though,

Let's establish ourselves in the present moment.

Feel the chair that you're sitting in,

The room that you're in,

The house that you're in,

Or apartment,

Or wherever you are,

If you're outside sitting on the grass.

Release the attention wherever you are right now.

Our mantra for today is,

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

Very powerful.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

If you forget the words as we meditate,

That's absolutely okay.

Just allow yourself gently to come back to your breath.

You can always focus on that.

I will keep the time and let's begin.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

I am here,

I am now,

I am enough.

Start bringing your awareness back to our bodies.

Nice deep breath in and release it.

You can open your eyes whenever you feel comfortable.

I don't know about you guys,

But I got really emotional during that.

You know,

I am here is one thing,

Right?

And you just establish yourself wherever you are,

Wherever you're sitting or wherever you are,

Right?

I am now is like,

Wow,

Okay,

My life is here.

This is right now,

Right?

And then when I got to I am enough,

I just,

I mean,

Every time I would say the whole mantra together,

I would,

I would feel like,

Oh my gosh,

I want to cry because I am enough.

You are enough.

And this is like,

This is so amazing,

Right?

Sitting in the present moment,

Knowing that this is enough right here,

Right now.

I am here,

I am now,

And I am enough.

Wow.

So I invite you to take this with you the rest of the day.

It's beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful.

I hope you were as impacted as I am right now.

So,

Yeah.

So thank you so much for joining as usual.

I appreciate you all so much.

And I,

Until next time,

From my heart to yours,

Namaste.
