You've given yourself the gift of presence each day,
And today we'll take it a little deeper for a slightly different experience.
This time together is longer,
So let yourself settle in,
Knowing there's nothing else you need to do,
Nowhere you need to be,
Just you,
Your breath,
And this beautiful practice.
Begin by softly closing your eyes,
Or a soft gaze downward,
And bring your awareness inward.
Notice your body resting just as it is.
Make any small adjustments,
Wiggle your shoulders,
Shift your hips,
Stretch out your legs,
So that comfort finds you,
That you tune into what feels right for your body.
Take your time.
When you've found that comfortable position,
Still your body,
Allowing yourself to be supported by the chair,
Or the floor,
Or whatever you're lying on,
And allow that to be supported by the earth beneath you.
Surrender your weight,
Surrender yourself to that support,
To that holding,
And take a slow breath in through your nose,
And sigh it out through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale deeply,
And exhale,
Letting go of anything you don't need to carry right now.
Allow your eyes to feel heavy in their sockets.
Let your brow smooth,
Your cheeks soften,
Your jaw unclench.
Feel your shoulders drop,
Your chest open,
Your hands loosen.
Imagine the whole body melting gently into stillness.
Now,
Picture yourself entering a place in nature that feels like home to your soul.
Perhaps you're on a warm beach beside a waterfall,
Lying in a golden meadow,
Or maybe deep in a forest sitting against a tree.
Trust the first image that comes,
And notice what you see around you.
Turn your head.
Let your eyes roam,
Your senses awaken.
Notice what you hear,
Birdsong,
Water,
Wind in the trees,
As the leaves rustle.
What can you hear?
Notice the way the air feels on your skin.
Is it cool,
Is it warm,
Humid,
Dry?
This is your sanctuary,
A place of safety,
A place of healing and peace.
From across the space,
You notice someone approaching.
It is a younger version of you,
Your inner child.
See them clearly.
Notice how old they are,
How they hold themselves.
What are they wearing?
What's their hair like?
And what are their eyes saying?
Pause and simply watch.
What does this child need?
What feelings rise within you as you see them?
When you're ready,
Kneel down to meet them at eye level.
Let them know,
I'm here with you now.
You are safe.
You are loved.
And beside you both,
A glowing sphere of light begins to form.
It shines with warmth,
Filled with love.
Invite your child to place all the heavy things they'll be carrying into this light.
The sadness they've been carrying,
The fear,
The shame,
The old beliefs that no longer belong.
Watch as the light receives them,
Expanding and growing brighter.
Place everything in the light.
Everything that's not yours,
Everything that never was.
And when it feels full,
Release it like a balloon.
Watch it drift upwards,
Up,
Up.
Dissolving into the sky until there's nothing left of it.
Notice how your child's face begins to change.
Maybe lighter,
Freer,
Maybe even smiling.
Maybe she's even laughing.
Maybe he's even jumping up and down.
Suddenly you feel a gentle rain begins to fall.
While the sun continues to shine.
Each drop carries nourishment,
Love,
Safety,
Joy,
Confidence.
Open your faces and let these raindrops soak into you both.
Hold your arms out wide,
Open your heart space.
The raindrops filling the spaces once held by pain with healing energy,
Nourishment and warmth.
And as the rain eases,
A perfect rainbow arches above you.
Maybe there are even two.
Feel it as a sign of wholeness and renewal.
A reminder of your resilience.
A reminder of your magic.
Take your hand,
Your child's hand and invite them into your heart.
Into your inner sanctuary.
Where they will always,
Always have a safe home with you.
Tell them you belong.
You are a part of me.
We are whole together.
I will never ever turn away from you ever again.
Tell them that.
Sit in this union for a little while.
Allowing gratitude to flood your being.
Gratitude for your courage,
Your healing.
And your willingness to meet yourself with love.
Sit in the celebration of your wholeness.
Of your courage.
Begin to bring awareness back to your body.
The rhythm of your breath.
The surface beneath you.
The sounds around you.
And know that you can return to this healing space anytime you wish.
Your inner child is with you always.
Reminding you of your creativity,
Your joy,
Your playfulness.
As you start to move and twist and stretch,
Take one more deep nourishing breath.
And exhale slowly.
And when you are ready,
Only when you are ready.
