You'll be introduced to the three mature male archetypes, The Warrior, The Magician and The Lover and learn how these three interact to create your King.

Welcome back to the final part of this series, Becoming the Mindful Man. We have covered who we are as men, how we all produce a shadow and how we must intergrate that shadow in order to be whole. In the last part of this course we also looked at the immature male or boy archetypes and you spent our time developing your ideals culminating in your Hero and your plan to become your ideal self. In this part we shall delve into he mature masculine elements the King, warrior, magician and lover. You can imagine these four elements as the four solid foundations of your life. All four are important to pay attention to, when one dominates all the others your life is off-centre and imbalanced and will come crashing down. Like with everything it requires continual appraisal and care. The second law of thermodynamics teaches us that everything tends toward chaos if left to it’s own devices. This is your antidote to chaos. This is how you build a solid life as a man. Join me to find out more.

Warrior Bipolar Shadows

The Bipolar shadows of the Warrior are the Sadist and the Masochist. Both can have dramatic negative effects on others as your striving for perfection in your own life begins to go from wholesome to hurtful.

The Magician

The magician shows up in so many stories and is exemplified by the sage who shows the hero the way. He is wise and he is competent. He is a knower and a master; with this session, you'll learn how to tap into both.

Magician Activity: Becoming The Knower

In this session, we are going to open up our minds by closing our eyes. I'm going to lead you through a meditation to help you tap into yourself and your experience and help begin to pay attention to both. By doing this we are going to find out more about who we are and what we have to offer.

Magician Bipolar Shadows

Here we look at the Know-it--all Trickster and the Innocent One. These bipolar shadows both use deception to get in the way of truth and progress. These are both close to my heart, but let's see how they impact you.

Lesson 8

The Lover

The Lover is so often neglected by us men. It doesn't come naturally to many of us and so we need to work at it. This session is all about connecting with the lover and finding out we can embrace joy in life and connect with others.

The Lover Activity: Loving From Afar

The Gratitude letter is such a powerful tool I wanted to adapt to as many people as possible. I know from losing my Dad that it's hard to connect with those that we have lost, but this activity will help you do just that. It is also perfect for when you're not ready to doo the gratitude letter in person.

Lesson 10

Lover Bipolar Shadows

The Shadow elements of the Lover come in the form of the Addicted Lover and the Impotent Lover. Both are unable to fully connect with themselves, the world or others. As such they feel isolated and dissatisfied. Learn how we can recognise these energies and take action against them.

The King

We have made it to the final energy, The King. The King archetype is one of the most pervasive of all characters and shows up in so many stories. In this session, I break down the history of the "King" story to help you understand how this can be your story.

What Makes A Good King?

In the last session, you learnt all about the King story and how it came to be, in this episode we look at what elements make a good king. We learn the importance of seeing, speaking, proving and protecting.

The King Activity: Developing Your Kingdom

The King is our crowning jewel and comes partly from all the other archetypes, but has some of his own features too. In this episode, we look at developing the elements of a King that are necessary to be the ultimate man we can be.

An eye opening Part 3, that continued to expand my knowledge and self awareness. It taught me a lot about being a better man, utilising more courage, compassion, truth and balance. My greatest takeaways, - watching out for "drive mode" and being more fun loving and spontaneous - cold showers! - a gratitude letter to my mother - help (see and listen to) others, not just myself Thanks for such a generous, inspiring course!
