Meet your Teacher

Jennifer is a sleep and dream educator, mentor, intuitive, writer, and meditation recording artist. She loves holding space for sleep and dreaming as vital regions for spiritual insight and self discovery. She specializes in inviting magic from ‘down’ states and different flavors of tired, helping people widen their restful horizons, restoring their place in natural rhythms, and honoring exhaustion as a sacred doorway into depth and love. All her work serves to support re-connecting to that power, and the receptive genius that comes uniquely through turning on regenerative rest-and-digest potential. Her mission is not only to help humans rest and sleep better in service of individual well-being and the renewable energy it bestows, but also for the collective ‘positive climate change’, the global cooling anti-inflammatory medicine it spreads, for all beings, and Mother Earth herself. Since joining Insight Timer three years ago Jennifer's meditations have been listened to 19 million times and her guided meditation – Yoga Nidra for Sleep – is the most played track on the app. She has helped countless Insight Timer listeners to fall asleep at night and improve their relationship with rest.

Lesson 4

Befriending Night

If light at night is the #1 biological factor impeding sleep, it warrants some emphasis. In this session we continue to challenge our willingness to practice being at home in the dark. How can we use deeper discernment around the consumption of this kind of energy at night and learn to trust inner technologies? We also discuss the possibility of freeing ourselves from complex nightly routines and exploring natural body chords for the song of sleep.

Lesson 5

Embracing Sleep Thinking

Once we are in bed, ‘thinking’ is often declared to be the biggest impediment to sleep. Yet we are intelligent systems, designed to ‘think’ on many levels and this intelligence can actually become more active in states of rest, sleep and dreams. In this session, learn three different perspectives that can invite thinking to help rather than hinder your ability to become a better sleeper.

Surprising information, especially the part that debunks limiting naps to 20 minutes. Siesta are critical and always were until we became governed by clocks

A life-changing course! My attitude towards and feelings about sleep have been revolutionised. Jennifer’s beautiful, soothing voice and tempo, the teachings on going inward rather than looking outside of ourselves for ‘solutions’ to sleep issues… As the journal prompt says, to be able to welcome sleep as a homecoming rather than a task to accomplish - I feel I’ve been given the greatest gift!

I loved this course! I don’t have trouble falling asleep but I do awaken several times during the night and sometimes it takes me awhile to go back to sleep, especially if I’m troubled about something. I learned to stop judging myself and accept that this is a normal part of life. I also learned many great tips and will come back to this course from time to time to refresh my memory.
