This practice involves the use of all 5 senses (vision, hearing, touch, taste, smell) as the foci of attention. Focusing on the senses allows us to slow and sharpen our minds. This practice involves actually experiencing different sensations in your present moment environment. As someone who tends toward rumination, this practice particularly appealed to me early in my mindfulness meditation journey and is still a favorite of mine to return to again and again.
