Melinda Farrar-Rabbidge

Melinda is a Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Breathwork Facilitator, and Mental Health Advocate. Melinda began practicing yoga at a young age. While working in the mental health sector, she undertook a 200-hour trauma-informed yoga course to better support the communities she was working with. Melinda has now shared her love of yoga for over four years with a variety of students including kids, aged care residents, within hospital settings, not-for-profit communities, and corporate organisations. She has studied over 800 hours in yoga, both in Sydney and India, including Pranayama, Meditation, Tibetan Sound Healing, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Ashtanga, Chair Yoga, and Aerial Yoga. Alongside her role as a yoga teacher, Melinda has worked as a mental health advocate and storyteller within several not-for-profit organisations to support community members to safely share their lived experiences of mental ill-health, trauma, suicide, and disordered eating. She is passionate about combining embodiment practices, storytelling, meditation, and social justice and has several university degrees in Psychology, Health Science, and Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management. Melinda believes that the power of yoga can support others to recognise their inner strengths, manage discomfort, overcome personal fears, and cultivate creativity. She interweaves yoga philosophy and Buddhism into her meditations to offer grounding, connection, compassion, hope, and empowerment to act.
