Welcome to this meditation,

Awakening Shiva Within,

A meditation on stillness and attachment.

This meditation is really close to my heart.

Shiva is one of my favorite Hindu deity.

So I welcome you to this secret pause.

Close your eyes gently if that's available to you.

Or maybe just lower your gaze.

Allow your body to rest,

Your breath to soften.

Let this moment be a temple where nothing is needed,

Nothing is missing.

We begin by simply arriving here,

Now.

Inhale,

Feel your body.

Exhale,

Release all that is not needed.

Inhale,

Stillness.

Exhale,

Resistance.

We begin by meditating on Shiva's nature of awareness and stillness.

Shiva is a revered deity in Hinduism.

He is the silent sage,

The cosmic dancer,

The wild-hearted god who destroys only to transform,

Who holds both fire and stillness in his breath.

He is the meditative force of the universe,

The one who watches not with judgment but deep presence.

He is the stillness beneath chaos,

The silence behind sound,

And the observer behind every thought.

So the invitation is for you to let your mind witness.

With your next breath,

Become aware of your thoughts.

Do not chase them,

Do not resist them.

Just watch like Shiva,

Vast,

Unmoved.

Your awareness is like the Himalayas,

Grounded,

Silent,

Eternal.

Notice the thoughts,

The feelings.

Your mind will wander.

That is the nature of the mind.

And when that happens,

Congratulate yourself and bring your mind back to witnessing.

Noticing the thoughts.

We will now move with intention to cultivate detachment,

Letting go like Shiva.

Shiva is Vairagi,

The detached one.

He walks alone,

Drinks poison,

Wears ash,

Because he clings to nothing,

Fears nothing.

You too can taste this freedom.

Imagine a fire before you,

Not to destroy but to purify.

Into it you can place all that binds you,

Your worries,

Labels,

Identities,

And with each exhale,

Release a layer.

You can silently say to yourself,

As you inhale,

I see clearly,

And as you exhale,

I let go.

Inhale,

I am not this thought.

Exhale,

I am see.

Spend few moments here on your own,

Inhaling and exhaling,

While you let go.

Finally,

We will connect with our inner presence as Shiva.

Gently bring your awareness to your thought center.

Visualize a glowing blue light,

Radiant,

Still,

Formless,

The presence of Shiva within.

Feel it expanding in your chest,

In your mind,

Through your spine.

This is your truest self,

Unmoved,

Unlimited,

Untouched.

You may want to repeat these affirmations slowly.

I am awareness.

I am the stillness beneath all motion.

I am not this body,

Not even this mind.

I am Shiva.

Take a few deeper breaths now and feel your body again.

You may want to wiggle your fingers,

Toes,

Noticing the chest rising and falling.

And you know that even as life moves around you,

This stillness within is always available.

You carry Shiva,

Not as an idea,

But as your nature.

May you walk with the stillness of the Himalayas.

The clarity of the sky and the freedom of the fire.

Om Namaha Shivaya.

Om Namaha Shivaya.

Om Namaha Shivaya.

Thank you.

Take care.

Be well.

Lots of love and light.
