Namaste,
Welcome,
Today we will chant the powerful tantric bija mantra,
Galaum,
An energetic form of the Ganesha mantra,
Calling in deep release and awakened strength.
Let's take a moment to arrive fully and a comfortable seated position with your spine gently upright,
Your shoulders soft,
Close your eyes if that feels safe for you and begin to feel your breath.
Feel the ground beneath you,
Trust that you are held,
Let yourself land here now in this shared space of practice.
Let's take three deep breaths together,
Inhale through your nose and exhale with the sigh through your mouth.
Once more,
Inhale softly and deeply and exhaling sigh it all out.
Once more,
Soft deep inhale and a long exhale arriving into the now,
Beautiful.
Now let your breath return to a natural rhythm,
Nothing to force,
Just presence.
Let me introduce the mantra,
The mantra Galaum is a powerful tantric bija mantra associated with Ganesha,
The remover of obstacles and guardian of transitions,
While the softer mantra Gaam supports steady clarity and beginnings,
Galaum evokes a more dynamic energy,
Clearing energetic blocks,
Cutting through resistance and activating creative flow.
This mantra is often used in tantric rituals and deeper inner work where powerful transformation is needed.
It's grounding,
Theory and activating and at the same time deeply stabilizing.
Let's explore the pronunciation of the mantra together before we begin,
Galaum begins with a soft guttural G sound almost like the beginning of the word blow and it's the same G as in Gaam and Ganga Pattaya,
So you can bring your fingertips at the base of your throat and feel this soft vibration when you make this guttural G sound.
Then,
There is the L sound,
For the L you can bring the tip of your tongue just behind your upper front teeth,
L,
Galaum,
And then comes the open AW vowel,
A little bit as it sounds in sound or how,
Galaum,
And finally the nasal N,
The Anusvara,
You can bring the tongue at the roof of your mouth softly,
Allowing the vibration to echo softly in your head and body.
Let's repeat it together three times slowly and clearly,
Galaum,
Galaum,
Yeah,
Allow the sound to vibrate through your entire body when we chant it,
Especially your belly,
Chest,
And head.
We will chant the mantra 108 times and I will count with my mala.
If you have a mala with you,
You can simply hold it or keep it ready and then if your eyes are open,
Gently let them close.
Let's set an intention for this chanting.
Bring your awareness into your body and listen inward.
If it feels comfortable,
You can place a hand over your heart space,
Feel the touch of your hand on your skin,
The warmth,
The connection,
And gently ask yourself,
Is there something you're ready to release?
A block you're ready to move through,
A vision you're ready to embody.
Hold this intention lightly,
Not with effort,
But with trust,
And let the mantra carry it.
We will now chant Galaum 108 times together.
You're invited to chant aloud with me or simply listen and receive.
Let your breath guide the rhythm and when your mind wanders,
Just return to the sound and the mantra.
Take a soft,
Deep inhale.
Let the sound gently fade into stillness.
Feel the echoes in your body,
In your breath,
In your energy.
Rest in this space and let the vibration settle and integrate.
You don't need to do anything now.
Just be.
Beautiful.
Gently begin to deepen your breath.
If you wish,
You can sit a little bit longer and continue with your meditation or slowly bring your awareness back to this moment.
Join your hands at your heart in Namaskar Mudra.
Let's close with one final Galaum.
Take a soft,
Deep inhale.
May this mantra support your path,
Clear the way forward,
And awaken your inner strength.
Thank you for being part of this powerful session.
Namaste.
