By you focusing on what you are actually going to get results on,
You simplify your business completely.
And by simplifying it,
You make it more easeful.
And by making it more easeful,
You are less stressed.
And being less stressed,
You're more peaceful.
And if you're more peaceful,
You're more harmonious.
And so the ripple effects of you just having done that for yourself is big.
You're starting to create huge impact.
This is what conscious leadership is about.
Today we are chatting about how to hone your focus in your work so that you are doing the best and most effective work in your business as a leader.
Now we're really going to have a look at the 80-20 rule.
And you may have heard of this before,
It's Pareto's Law.
And Pareto's Law is really about focusing on the 20% that matters.
And it goes like this,
20% of what it is that you do creates 80% of the results.
That is what Pareto's Law is,
The 80-20 rule.
20% of what you focus on,
20% of what you actually do in your work is creating 80% of the results.
That to me is quite crazy.
And this says to me as well that we are doing a lot of work that doesn't actually really matter.
We're doing a lot of work that is extra and doesn't need to be done.
And so often when I meet people who are overworked or feeling stressed or overwhelmed,
I know that they are not working smartly,
They're not working with the 80-20 rule.
Because remember,
According to Pareto's Law,
80-20,
20% of what we actually do is creating 80% of our results.
So what we really want to do today is for you to understand what is the 20% that is going to give you 80% of your results.
And you need to focus only solely on that 20%.
And what are you actually focusing on?
Are you focusing on the 20% that gives you the results?
Or are you focusing on all of the other things that aren't actually giving you results?
Now if you are feeling overwhelmed,
If you are feeling stressed,
If you feel like there is a lot of work and there's not enough hours,
If you're feeling any of those things,
You can be sure that you are not focusing on the 20% that matters,
That is giving you 80% of the results.
You are taking on far more extra shit that you don't need to,
Right?
So today it's really about you understanding and really getting this principle that you actually only need to focus on 20%,
20%.
Now just for a moment,
Think about what would your life be like as a leader,
As a change maker in your business?
What would your life be like if you were to only do 20% of what you're already doing?
Now if I think about that,
It's so much easier.
My life is so much more simple.
The things that I need to do in my business are so much more clear and they're so much more simple.
So think about for a moment,
If you were to only do the 20% that mattered,
That gave you 80% of the results,
If you were to hone down on that,
What would your life look like?
What would your work life look like?
What would your life life look like,
Right?
You're going to end up freeing up a lot of your time,
Which is perfect.
So if you're not already doing this,
If you're feeling overwhelmed,
If you're feeling stressed,
If you feel like there's a lot to do,
If you feel like there's not enough hours in the day,
You need to start applying this rule.
Yeah,
80-20,
20% of what it is that you do creates 80% of the results.
So that is where your focus gets to be.
And equally,
As leaders,
We get to also lead our team in that direction,
Okay?
So we get to really hone down on what our team is really good at.
So they don't need to be overwhelmed either.
They don't need to be overworked.
They get to focus on the 20% that actually gives the results that we need.
See how much more free time we're going to create if we really hold ourselves accountable to focusing on the right things.
Now I know this can be difficult,
Especially when you're in a business paradigm that promotes busyness,
Right?
It's almost in the name,
Business,
Busyness.
And so we feel like if we're not doing things all the time or we don't have a huge workload,
We don't have stacks of things to do,
We don't have a list that is running with things to complete,
That we're being lazy,
That we maybe don't deserve the success that we have,
Right?
There's all sorts of stories that go with that.
The thing is,
Most people are doing business inefficiently.
They're doing it really inefficiently because they're not taking this principle into practice.
And my personal belief for every single one of you as people who are conscious,
People who feel like they are doing their soul's work through their business,
For those of you who want to create a real big change in the world that is positive,
That our soul's work gets to be so simple,
It gets to be really easy,
And we are allowed to thrive and succeed in an easeful way.
Now my personal mission on this earth is to help people like you find your ease,
Find your ease in the way that you are leading your life and leading your businesses.
And why is that important to me?
Because when we are in ease,
We are more in alignment to peace and harmony.
And for me,
My mission is to create more peace and harmony in the world.
So imagine if you were to only focus on 20% of what actually matters in your business,
How much more peaceful you would be,
How much more harmonious you would be.
And then the ripple effects of that out into your team,
Into the clients that you work with,
And then into your personal life,
Rippling out into the world.
We get to be amazing change makers,
Starting with ourselves.
So you may have hopped into this and gone,
Okay,
I'm going to learn about how to focus and really create some success in my business.
It's so much more than that.
By you focusing on what you are actually going to get results on,
You simplify your business completely.
And by simplifying it,
You make it more easeful.
And by making it more easeful,
You are less stressed.
And being less stressed,
You are more peaceful.
And if you're more peaceful,
You're more harmonious.
And so the ripple effects of you just having done that for yourself is big.
You're starting to create huge impact.
This is what conscious leadership is about.
This is so important.
This is so much more than just being productive.
This is so much more than just being successful in your business.
This is about you being the example to your team,
To your clients,
And to all of the people that you affect,
All of the people that you have relationships with,
About how to be in peace and harmony through everything that you do in your personal life and in your professional life.
So coming back to that rule,
The 80-20 rule,
Pareto's principle,
Pareto's law,
It's really about what is the 20% that is creating the 80% of results.
What is that for me?
And this is a question that you really just need to explore for yourself.
And it starts to go into the ideas of your zone of genius or your unique thing.
What is that unique something that you do that no one else can do?
This is going to give you a clue as to the 20% that really you should be doing.
What is the 20% that really you and only you should be doing in your business?
Because remember,
20% of what you actually do is creating 80% of your results.
So you need to understand what are those things,
And then to make it even more,
To make this even more precise for you,
Out of that 20% that is creating 80% of the results,
What of that is mine?
Which of those things allows me to bring my uniqueness to the table?
In other words,
Out of those 20% of things that need to be done to give you 80% of the results,
What of that actually lights you up and is only able to be done by you?
See how this is getting even smaller,
The amount that you actually have to be doing in your business?
You are getting so precise as to why you are here on this earth and what you personally should be doing in the world.
And everything else within that 20% that you aren't personally amazing at,
A genius at,
Gets to be moved on to someone else.
So this is where your team becomes really,
Really important.
So everything else within that 20% that is creating 80% of your results,
Everything else that isn't in your zone of genius or your unique thing that only you can do,
You need to pass on to other people.
And you pass on those things,
And you pass on those things that are their unique thing to create.
So I have,
As part of my team,
My team is really small,
I just have one VA at this point.
And she's really,
Really good at learning very,
Very quickly and really good at tech stuff.
And so I know that I can teach her something and she'll know how to do it straight away afterwards,
Right?
And she can continue to do that.
So for me,
I can do that.
I can do that because that's how I started,
As most of you probably would.
You started off as a one-man band,
A one-woman show,
A one-person show.
And I can do all those things.
I can do the tech side of things.
However,
It's not my zone of genius.
It's not what actually lights me up.
The admin side of things,
The technology side of things,
Workflows,
Automations,
All those things,
Although I have learned how to do them out of necessity,
They're not the things that absolutely light me up.
They're not the things that only I can uniquely do.
However,
My VA can.
And she loves doing it.
She loves doing tasks for me.
And so I'm really,
Really grateful that she's there,
Right?
So her zone of genius is really those systems,
Those automations.
She loves learning those new things.
And so when we look at the 20% in my business that is actually making 80% of the results,
I am only taking out of that 20% that which is my zone of genius,
That which is my unique thing that only I can do.
Now,
Those unique things,
One of those unique things is tuning up and chatting to you.
Only I can do that.
Only I can do that.
As Nick Chang,
I am the only one who can represent me,
Right?
So that is something that I absolutely have to do.
Out of all of the other things that need to be done to create that 80%,
I don't have to do,
And neither do you.
So this is when the creation of your team becomes so important for you,
And you need to let go of the remainder of that 20% to someone else who is amazing at that thing.
So can you see that even now,
Out of that 20%,
Everything is getting smaller.
The amount that you actually have to do in your business to create big success and big impact in the world is getting less and less.
What you really need to be doing,
The only thing that you need to be focusing on,
The only thing that you need to be focusing on is what you are here to do specifically,
I.
E.
Your zone of genius or your unique thing.
What is that thing that only you can do and that absolutely lights you up?
And when we can get so disciplined with ourselves to focus only on that,
What happens is we of course create more space for ourselves because we're no longer saying yes to the things that don't align with that.
We get the chance to interact with teams because we have to bring on people now.
We have to bring on people to support the other things that need to be done in the business.
And with that,
Creates growth.
We start to put our trust in other beings who can help support us to do our unique thing as we support them to do their unique thing.
All of our workloads get to be less because you,
As the leader of your business and the leader of your life,
Are so disciplined and the embodiment of this person who only does what it is that they're here to do,
You role model that for everyone in your team and for your clients and for the people in the world that you see and you role model simplicity.
You role model this ease that is available for everyone.
And in that,
As I said,
What happens when we're in more ease,
We're less anxious,
We're less stressed,
We're less time poor,
We're more abundant,
We're more peaceful,
And we're more in harmony with the world.
And that is my big mission on the earth,
Is to create more peace and harmony in the world,
Which is why I love to support leaders and change makers like you to really step into your next level of leadership.
All right,
Let me take a pause for a moment here.
Today we've been talking about honing your focus to succeed.
And as you know,
Success is on all levels.
It's not only about financial,
It's about your spiritual and your personal success in terms of your fulfillment with the work that you do and the ripple effects that you have.
And particularly,
We've been talking about the 80-20 rule,
Pareto's principle.
20% of what it is that you do creates 80% of the results.
So your homework after listening to this is to sit back and go,
What is that 20%?
And what is the rest of the fluff that needs to leave?
This can be really confronting to some people.
Some people are addicted to being busy.
You do not need to be busy.
You need to go away.
And I'm advocating for you to do this,
Okay?
So take this as an invitation and actually go away and journal about this.
Really sit back and review.
What is the 20% that is actually making a difference in your business?
What is the 20% of activities that you do that is creating 80% of the results?
And you can look at this on all levels.
As a conscious leader,
You're not just looking at your practical things,
But you're also looking at your mental,
Emotional things and your spiritual practices.
So out of all those things,
Out of the practical things that you're doing,
The mindset maybe work that you are engaged in or the personal development work that you're engaged in,
And the spiritual practices that you are engaged in,
Out of those,
What are the 20% of those things that you do that are actually creating real results for you?
And continue doing those and those alone.
Free up your time.
Stop being so busy.
Stop believing that busyness equals a business.
It doesn't.
So after today,
Go back and reflect.
What is the 20% that I actually do in my professional life,
In my spiritual life,
In my personal life,
That creates the kind of results that I want?
And keep doing that and that alone.
And then out of that 20%,
You can also ask to get even more refined with this.
You can ask,
Out of that 20%,
What is it that I actually truly love doing?
What is it that I am uniquely capable of doing and that I enjoy?
What is my zone of genius within that 20%?
And then everything else that is not that gets to be outsourced to your team.
And to get even more refined with that,
Make sure that your team are only taking on 20% of what they have to do and that that matches their zone of genius too.
Now you're starting to create a really empowering culture where you really are asking people to only focus on that which brings them joy.
You're only asking them to focus on things that allow more peace and harmony in their world,
That allow more time,
That allow them to be in their zone of genius,
I.
E.
Doing things that they absolutely love.
Now if you can create a work culture like that,
A business culture like that,
How amazing is that for everyone who is involved?
And that's everyone who's involved in your team,
But also all of the people who orbit around that,
Your clients.
And then their families of the people in your team,
Everyone who is around that culture that you have brought into your team has this beautiful ripple effect of people being joyful in their work,
People being peaceful in their work,
People being at ease with their work.
And that I think is part of the big shift that I'm here for in the business world,
Is teaching more of this conscious leadership.
You get to be the embodiment of a peaceful,
Harmonious leader who gets things done.
You're still getting things done,
But you're doing it in a way that shifts the current paradigm of this busyness in business and is a really empowering way of working for not only yourself,
But everyone who's involved in your business.
So thank you for your attention today,
Talking about honing your focus.
Now remember,
You only have to do 20% to get 80% of the results.
So if you're feeling anxious,
Stressed,
Overwhelmed with the amount of work that you're doing,
You need to sit down and review what is the 20% that is creating 80% of my results,
And then be disciplined enough to only do the 20%,
Okay?
Now if you're the sort of person who's like,
Oh,
But I'm going to miss the other bunch of stuff that I'm doing,
There's some work for you to do,
Okay?
So there's some probably work around why you think you have to be busy,
Why you have to be really productive,
All of those things,
Right?
Be disciplined enough with yourself to only do the 20% that matters for your business.
Hone down on that,
Focus on that,
And then out of that 20%,
Figure out what of that is your zone of genius and what else gets to be outsourced.
Immediately,
You're going to find more free time,
More space,
Which allows you to be the leader of your business,
Because now you have more time to actually reflect on your business,
Rather than being in your business the whole time.
Alrighty,
Let me just tune into the group and see what is needed for today to anchor in this principle of focus,
This principle of 20%.
Just give me a second and I'm just going to see what we need.
So today,
What feels like the best for the entire group who are present and for those who are going to be listening to the recording of this,
It feels like we're going to hop into an experience of letting go.
What I mean by that is letting go of the 80% of things that you are doing that aren't actually necessary for you to be doing in your business.
Now it sounds like a really weird thing for us to be going into a meditation for,
But the flavor that is already coming through with this is that it may be hard for some of you to do this because of the stories that you have tied up with being busy and what that may mean to your self-identity.
So that is why we're going to go into this together.
We're going to rip apart any of those stories that you have about having to be busy or what that means about your self-worth or your productivity.
We're going to tease those apart,
Get rid of those so that you can actually sit in this easeful space of concentrating on only 20% that is giving you 80% of the results.
So if that sounds fun for you,
Stick around,
And if it is safe for you,
Gently close down your eyes,
Get really comfortable in the seat that you are in,
And unfold your legs if they're folded.
Place your hands somewhere that feels really nice and comfortable,
And we're just going to do the first part,
Which is always about relaxing the body.
So start to concentrate on your breath,
The breath going in and out,
And you may want to purposely slow your breath down,
Taking nice deep breaths in and nice deep breaths out.
And each breath out,
You can almost do a gentle sigh,
Like a,
Ah,
And as you do that,
Just feel your body relaxing more and more,
Letting go of anything that is unnecessary,
Any unnecessary effort held in the body,
Already embodying this principle of less effort,
Less to do,
Allowing your body to sit upright with the least amount of effort that is required.
So breathing in,
Creating space,
And breathing out,
Letting go of any extra effort that you're holding in your body,
Any tension in the head and the eyes,
The neck,
The shoulders,
The arms,
The hands,
The stomach,
The chest,
The back,
The buttocks,
The thighs,
The knees,
The calves,
Maybe even in the feet and the toes,
Letting go of any extra effort that you're holding in your body,
And using only the 20% that is necessary for you to sit upright,
Breathing in deeper relaxation.
And now bringing to mind all of the things that you are currently doing in your role as a leader,
As a changemaker,
Bringing to mind all of those things,
All of the tasks that you undertake,
All of the micro roles that you may be doing,
Just bringing those to mind,
And I want you to fill up your mind with that,
Fill it up.
For some of you it may be filled with extra admin things or social media things,
For some of you it might be micromanaging your team or other tasks that could be handed off.
Fill up your brain,
And I just want you to have an experience of all of the things that you're holding that you are deeming necessary for you to do right now.
Get a picture,
Get a feeling of all of the things that you are holding yourself to do.
And one of the important things as a leader is knowing what to focus on and what you should be focusing on.
So out of all of the things that you're holding in your mind of what you currently do,
Notice that some of them are bright and they might be pulsating to you.
Those are those ones that are in your zone of genius.
They're the ones that light you up,
That bring you joy,
That don't feel like work when you do it,
And they're the ones that only you can do.
And then notice all the rest of the stuff that is not necessary for you to show up for.
And I want you to imagine that all of these things are like stars suspended in the sky,
And now we're going to be breathing,
And as you breathe out,
The ones that are not bright,
The stars that are not bright,
The tasks that are not your unique zone of genius,
The tasks that do not light you up,
Are going to start falling away.
So as you breathe in,
Focus on the lights,
And as you breathe out,
Seeing those extra things dropping from the sky,
Dropping to the ground,
Dropping for someone else to pick up.
All those extra tasks that you do that are not necessary,
Dropping them.
All those extra things that are not bringing you 80% of the results,
Dropping them.
And there may be some things that you enjoy doing,
But they're not bringing you the 80% of the results,
Drop them.
Drop anything that is unnecessary.
Drop anything that is overcomplicating what it is that you do.
Drop anything that feels like obligation.
Now for some of you,
This may feel hard as you realize what is left for you to do,
For you to show up for,
Is not a lot at all.
And if this is you,
Bring to mind any of those feelings that are coming up around maybe being lazy,
Or not being productive,
Or not having to work hard for your success,
Or not being valuable if you're not busy.
And for those of you who wish to have energetic support from me,
I'm helping you to bring these to the surface.
Anything that is stopping you from living a more simplified,
Peaceful existence.
Anything that is an old pattern,
An old past life,
An old identity that holds onto busy-ness,
Maybe as a status symbol,
Maybe as a proof of value,
Maybe as an identity,
Bringing that to the surface and letting it be bare to you and obvious to you.
And in the next moment,
We're going to take a deep breath and we're going to breathe out this old way of being.
Taking a nice deep breath in,
And breathing out,
Letting go of this identity,
This way of being where you have to be busy.
You have to be productive.
You have to prove your worth with how much you do,
And how much you're juggling.
You have to not be lazy.
You have to always be on.
You have to be juggling multiple things.
You have to work hard for what it is that you desire.
You have to prove yourself.
You have to earn it.
It's got to be hard work to get results.
You have to look productive.
You have to be productive.
You have to be stressed.
You have to be overwhelmed.
This is part of the entrepreneurial journey.
This is part of being a leader.
Dropping any of these ideas that are stopping you from having a more simple way of moving forward that brings you success financially,
Spiritually,
And personally.
With each breath out,
We drop more of these ideas.
We clear our space.
We allow ourselves to come into more peacefulness and harmony and more ease.
We allow for even more joy to come in as we focus solely on what it is that we are a genius at doing.
We focus on only the 20%,
The fraction of the 20% that we are here to do.
We let go of any idea of having to control the other parts.
We allow this to go into the hands of those whose zone of genius is to cover the rest of that 20% that is not ours.
We allow our team to be empowered.
We allow ourselves to be empowered by our team.
We drop anything else that is not meant to be here for us.
I want you for now,
That is really great clearing.
I can feel more space in the field.
Just revel in this space.
Breathe it in.
Feel the ease.
Feel the space all around you.
Feel the expansion that is available for you from the creation of this space.
Feel the freedom that you have to move because there is space.
Breathe it in.
Breathe it into yourselves.
This is your new normal.
This is your new way of moving through the world,
Through the work that you do.
This is your new model of leadership.
Consciousness.
Ease.
Peace.
Harmony.
Joyfulness.
And right here,
Right now,
Make a solemn dedication to only do your zone of genius.
To focus solely on what it is that you are uniquely created to do.
And make another solemn promise that anything else that absolutely needs to be done,
That is necessary,
That is within that 20%,
Bringing on anyone that you need to support you to be able to do that.
And I'm just going to do a little clearing on any fear around that,
Bringing other support in.
Any ideas of having to let go of control.
Any of those things that may support,
That may hinder you from bringing in that extra support that is necessary.
We'll just do a quick clearing of that.
Take a nice deep breath in.
A nice deep breath out.
And it might be a shaking of the body.
Another nice deep breath in.
A nice deep breath out.
Beautiful.
What is necessary of you is just to show up in your zone of genius.
That is where your focus lies.
That is where you as a conscious leader gets to show up.
That is the embodiment that is required of you to be the changemaker that you desire to be.
When you're ready,
Taking another few deep breaths.
Licking the eyes open slowly and coming back to this space.
Welcome back.
I hope that this was of contribution to you today.
As we talked about honing your focus for success in a very holistic way.
Your success is not only a leader in your business,
But also your personal and spiritual success.
And sense of fulfillment.
Today we chatted about Pareto's principle 80-20.
20% of what you do creates 80% of the results.
20% of what you do creates 80% of the results.
So please go away today and journal what is that 20% for you.
And then the next refining question was,
Out of that 20%,
What is it that you uniquely are suited to do?
What out of that 20% is your zone of genius?
And everything else you get to put into the hands of someone else.
Already,
Can you feel that freeing up of time?
That freeing up,
That space,
Spaciousness available to you.
That is always available to you.
And hopefully the integration meditation that we just did allowed you to have an embodied experience of that freedom that is available for you as you step further along this leadership role.
This change making role that you have.
This pathway that you have stepped upon.
It is available for you at every single step.
Thank you for the work that you do in the world.
Thank you for being the leaders and change makers that you are.
For bringing more love,
Light,
Peace and harmony into the world through what it is that you do.
For caring about the people that you work with.
We need more of that.
So thank you for your attention and your time.
I know that it is precious.
And I hope that today this was useful for you in your journey forward as being the conscious leader that you are.
If you haven't started to follow me and you love what we did,
Come and follow me on Insight Timer.
Have a look at all those meditations that I have and some other live events that I have coming up.
And have a beautiful rest of your day.
Alright,
Bye for now.
