Taken from Meditation Club, this live recording explores boredom as a signal, not a problem. Instead of numbing it or pushing past it, we listen to what boredom is trying to reveal, where life has gone stale, where creativity wants to return, and what your next shift might be. Come slow down, get curious, and leave with more clarity, presence, and possibility.

Gently closing your eyes and focusing all your attention on the tone behind my voice.

This is a morning motivation around the topic of boredom.

We'll start by slowing our minds down a little bit,

Starting to focus on the air coming in through your nose and leaving through your mouth or nose.

Try that again,

Taking a slightly deeper breath in through the nose and leaving the body.

Beautiful,

Just starting to focus on the muscles in your face,

Softening your cheeks,

Loosening the jaw.

Coming back to your breath,

Let's take a deeper breath right to the chest.

Deep breath in,

Let it go.

Dropping your shoulders now.

Relax the shoulders,

Beautiful.

Beautiful,

Just spending a little time right here as we invite ourselves to become curious and to do some exploration around our topic today being boredom,

This word boredom,

Seeing that word in your mind and breathing.

If we look at the root of this word and we like to look at the root of words where they come from,

It's a word from the 1700s,

To be tiresome or dull.

To bore is to be tiresome or dull.

Breathe that in.

When you throw the word dumb on the top or on the end of it,

It's really just the kingdom or the wisdom.

So it's the state of being dull by sameness.

The state of being dull by sameness.

Breathe.

And in this word,

There is a teaching.

If we choose to look at boredom as a signal,

As a flag,

When you think of this word and how it's been taught to you,

What do you remember about this word and how it's used?

Go back in time.

Oftentimes,

I've thought of the word as being used in a way of,

Are you bored?

Is this conversation boring you?

Or even as I was raised,

You shouldn't be bored.

You should keep busy.

When you think of your connection to boredom,

What comes up?

Take a deep breath in.

What if we reframe this word boredom as an important signal?

As the way your inner system,

Your intuition is asking you for movement,

Asking you for meaning,

Asking for novelty,

Or looking for more depth.

Breathe with these words again.

Boredom is my signal for more movement,

Meaning,

Novelty,

Or depth.

With this idea,

Boredom becomes very important.

We live in a world right now where we are constantly keeping our minds busy,

Not allowing for boredom.

Breathe and just feel into this idea of how you keep yourself distracted or busy.

Boredom is essential for finding the depth we look for as humans.

Breathe that in.

It is essential to find the depth we crave as humans.

So let's apply it to our lives.

Let's motivate ourselves to find where we can use boredom as a tool.

I want you to think of all your important relationships in life and let one bubble to the surface that you care about but may be getting boring,

That could use more depth.

Breathe and see that person right now.

See their face.

A relationship that could use more movement,

More novelty,

And more depth.

Take a deep breath in.

Why has this relationship become dull?

The same.

Going through the same motions.

Same conversations,

Or lack of them.

Same dynamic.

And as you see your answer of why this has happened,

Take a deep breath in.

How do you inject novelty into this relationship?

Visualize it in your mind.

How can you inject depth into this relationship?

Just a little bit more.

And breathe.

And how can you take action that you can control to ask for more stimulus?

Boredom is a true signal of the soul asking for you to go deeper.

We use it in relationship today,

But you can use it anywhere in your life where you want to change sameness,

Sharpen dullness,

Be more creative,

And move away from distraction.

Breathe.

Moving with every tone,

Allowing your mind to clear while it sends you messages of novelty.

I'll bring you out on the other side.

And just finding your breath.

Deep breath in through the nose,

Let it go.

Where would you like to apply some novelty in your life?

What area is coming to mind?

And just see it right now.

And as you gently drift back into your body,

Into your room,

Allow yourself to be with that thought,

Where that signal is coming from and where you will shift into something
