You know when I first started exploring religions some of the images of the Eastern religions were pretty unsettling.

There's Shiva who's covered in you know the Hindu male God like the Hindu father God is covered in ash and lives in a cemetery and Kali who's an aspect of the female goddess mother God is a very fierce figure she's got a necklace of skulls and her tongue is often sticking out.

It took me a while to understand these images but now I get it and it's also loving.

So Shiva I mean the reason he's in the okay and this is you know according to the premise Suta the reason Shiva's in the graveyard is to remind us that life is temporary and he's covered with ash to remind us that it's dust to dust,

Ash to ash and that we have no permanent reality.

We feel permanent while we're here but we're not we're just temporary and really in the higher aspects of the Eastern religion that we're dream figures really.

We're not even concrete although it seems like it but that can be very confusing but when you get like Shiva is always pointing to death within life and you know to remind us that we're just here for a while and to live carefully and to live you know in a way that follow the eternal values because on our deathbed.

It doesn't matter how wealthy we are.

What is that Alexander the Great arranged to be buried with his hands sticking through his coffin to remind people that he could take nothing of his conquests home.

So even Alexander the Great woke up.

The other the other figure is Kali and Kali is a fierce aspect of the goddess.

There are other aspects of the female of Mother God in Hinduism that Kali is the fiercest and she wears a necklace of skulls.

Now Kali is actually incredibly incredibly loving.

What she's what Kali does for human beings is free them from their egos.

She points to the truth of them beyond their ego which is the realm of what the female is supposed to do you know and even in armistice the female carries the lamp like Psyche carries the lamp.

In Greek mythology or Roman I think it's Greek.

In the statue of Liberty she's got a torch.

The feminine brings the light.

So Kali brings the light and in the light our egos show and you know she basically will create real trouble in our lives and then so we fall back on our eternal nature and then she quickly rescues us as soon as we've tapped into who we really are and as soon as we've gone beyond the ego like realized that we the ego has a lot of opinions but does not know the truth.

Anyway you know I'm right here above a graveyard and it just seemed fitting to talk about Shiva and Kali and maybe we all let our egos die and become who we're born to be and may we get all the support we need for this and may we be really really gentle and compassionate with ourselves as we go through this birth that's happening all over the world.

Okay bless you dear dear hearts.
