Shalom,
Dear ones.
As we deepen into the sacred space of Elul,
Coming towards Rosh Hashanah,
The new year,
Let's embark on a journey together.
I invite you to find a quiet spot and settle into a comfortable position.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths,
Letting go of any tension or distractions.
Elul is a special time when we are told that the Divine Presence comes out to meet us in the field.
Instead of a distant realm,
The Divine becomes accessible,
Waiting for us to approach with our heartfelt prayers and reflections.
Let's journey to this field together.
Imagine a vast open field.
The grass is a vibrant green,
Swaying gently with the breeze.
The sky overhead is clear,
A radiant blue with the golden warmth of the sun shining down.
In the distance,
You see a radiant yet approachable figure,
Seated under a canopy.
This is the Divine Presence in the field.
Feel a pull toward this Presence and begin to walk slowly across the field.
With each step,
Become more aware of the weight and meaning of this meeting.
Recall the moments from the past year,
Joys and challenges,
Achievements and mistakes.
Know that in this field,
You can approach with all your imperfections and all your vulnerabilities.
As you draw near,
Feel a warmth,
A sense of acceptance and love radiating from the Divine Presence.
This luminous entity is here to listen,
To connect,
To understand.
Stand before the canopy,
Taking a moment to simply be in this sacred connection.
Now,
Silently or aloud,
Express your innermost feelings,
Hopes,
And wishes for the coming year.
Share your aspirations,
Your regrets,
Your dreams.
Feel heard,
Understood,
And loved.
As your heart communicates with the Divine,
Imagine a gentle light enveloping you.
This light carries blessings,
Guidance,
And protection for the year ahead.
Let it seep into your being,
Filling you with strength,
Clarity,
And purpose.
With deep gratitude for this encounter,
Imagine yourself slowly beginning to walk back across the field,
Carrying the blessings and insight from this meeting in your heart.
The field remains behind,
But remember,
The Divine Presence in the field is an ever-present reality.
The Divine is always accessible,
Always waiting for our genuine and gentle approach.
I invite you to gently become aware of your surroundings,
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Take a deep rejuvenating breath,
And slowly open your eyes.
As you move forward through the rest of the month of Elul and into the High Holy Days,
You may carry this experience with you,
Grounding and guiding your spiritual journey through this season.
Shalom,
May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year.
