Join me for this practice to feel more grounded,
More connected,
More present.
So start just taking both hands onto your belly.
You can do this if you're sitting,
If you're lying,
If you're walking.
And just begin to bring a more conscious awareness to your breath.
And just see if you can observe,
Detect some movement beneath your hands as you breathe.
Maybe you notice your belly expands as you inhale.
Maybe it softens as you exhale.
Maybe you don't notice any movement,
And that's okay.
Just bring your awareness to that space.
Now take one of your hands and place it on your chest,
On your heart.
And just start to bring awareness of movement around your chest,
Around your heart as you breathe.
You might notice the chest rising and falling as you breathe in and out.
Now,
Without really changing anything with your breath,
But with one hand still on your belly and one hand still on your chest,
Just start to notice the movement underneath both hands.
Maybe they move pretty similarly.
Maybe they move at different times.
Maybe one moves more than the other.
Just see,
What can I notice?
What can I observe?
What's the nature of the way my body responds to my breath in this moment?
And just take yourself through five more breaths,
Just with this simple observation of the way your body moves as you breathe.
And one final breath.
And then release the hands from your belly or chest.
And just notice how you feel.
