This lesson is about the second chakra,
Called the sacral chakra.
Its color frequency is orange.
The sacral chakra is located near the navel and it extends both to the front and the back of the body from there.
This chakra responds to orange foods,
The smell of orange,
Orange crystals,
And yams are especially good for this chakra as well.
In women,
This chakra is directly connected to our reproductive systems and its balance is also reflected in the lower intestines,
Hips,
And lower back.
The two-word phrase to help you remember what this chakra is about is,
I want.
This is about being a unique presence in the world and being recognized as such.
It covers creativity,
Reward,
And intimacy.
And each of these things are ways in which we are seen as valuable and unique individuals.
Creativity on every level,
Music,
Art,
Cooking,
Writing,
Dance,
And also physical creation,
As in creating life in our bodies.
Reward,
In terms of being paid for the value that we bring,
Being recognized by others as doing something valuable,
Using a talent or doing a good job.
It's also related to our desire for approval by our parents.
Finally,
Intimacy.
This is a special sort of being seen and it is something that's an innate human desire,
Albeit a complex one.
Addictions and cravings are located in this chakra because the substances that are being used are being used to compensate for a deficiency in the needs that this chakra covers.
Now that you know what emotions are covered by this chakra,
Let's talk about a couple of tools to help it get into balance.
What we want to do is to strengthen your sense of validation,
Of feeling like you are likable and capable.
Instead of seeking validation from others,
You can use these tools to validate your own worth and that works.
Here are two very simple ways to do this and they really help.
You know,
We can be our own worst critics,
So being able to validate ourselves is very healing.
The first tool is called Yay Me.
Use this whenever you do something that you might not really feel like doing,
But you do it anyway.
Or whenever you accomplish something,
Even if it's a small task.
I think of doing the dishes because it's not fun for me.
Or completing some task that I needed to get off my plate.
I made a dishes pun.
What you do is you say,
Yay Me.
You can accent it with a fist pump or a pat on your own back,
But it has to be sincere and congratulatory.
What's happening here is that you are giving yourself validation and recognition for what you did.
You are saying,
Good job,
Me.
And it feels nice.
The other tool that you can use to give yourself validation is once a week,
Write yourself a thank you note.
Really write it down.
Start out,
Dear me,
Thank you for,
And then just list all the things that you know you deserve recognition for.
You do a lot.
And it's not always recognized by others as much as maybe you would prefer.
But that's okay,
Because you can recognize it in yourself and thank yourself for it.
And it feels really good to give yourself this gift.
I suggest that you use a notebook,
Date each thank you note and keep them inside it.
And read them over when you feel like you need a dose of appreciation.
This is also a great tool for increasing gratitude,
Which is good for your overall health and healing for your heart chakra too.
