This lesson is going to introduce or reintroduce you to the solar plexus chakra.
This chakra is at the stomach,
Right below the sternum bone at the bottom center of the ribcage.
It extends forward and backward from there.
The color is yellow,
So as you may have figured out already,
It responds to the frequency of yellow.
Yellow foods like lemons,
Yellow squash,
Bananas,
And yellow beans,
For example,
Are helpful for this chakra,
As well as the scent of lemon.
The two-word phrase to remember this chakra is,
I can.
This chakra is about feeling confident and in control.
When we feel anxious or stressed,
It's because we don't feel in control or confident.
Anxiety and stress are signs that this chakra needs balance.
Have you ever had that nervous feeling that feels like butterflies in your stomach?
That's the way that chakra feels when it's stressed.
It's going really fast trying to manufacture more energy because you don't feel in control.
You're nervous about what will happen.
The stomach and the mid-back,
By the way,
Are where this chakra will express itself physically,
Although stress can certainly affect more places than that after a while.
The two-word phrase,
I can,
Reminds you that this chakra is about feeling confident and empowered,
So that makes it easy to remember what this chakra is about.
A tool that many people use to try to help themselves feel more confident is affirmations.
Affirmations are making a statement about how you want to feel as if you already feel that way,
Even if you don't.
For example,
I'm okay when you're not feeling okay,
Or I am abundant when you're actually feeling broke.
The point of doing this is because it's impossible to feel worried and confident at the same time.
Plus,
If you can feel confident,
You'll have a better outcome every time and you'll attract the same energy.
The problem with affirmations is,
Well,
You're lying to yourself.
You're lying to yourself because you're trying to convince yourself to feel different from how you're actually feeling.
This can be challenging for a number of reasons.
First,
Because you know you're lying,
And your mind might protest.
You might say,
I am confident,
And then you think,
Ugh,
No I'm not.
And then you might also feel annoyed at yourself because this isn't working,
And aren't you doing it right?
Why can't you do it right?
Why can't you do anything right?
And then you're shaming yourself.
Let's fix this.
Affirmations can be great when they work.
So I've created Affirmation Fixers that can make affirmations become accepted by the mind and then help them work the way they're supposed to.
Start with an affirmation that you'd like to use.
Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by the number of things you've got to do,
And that's stressful.
So you want to feel the opposite,
Confident and capable.
Your affirmation would be,
I am confident and capable.
You know that you feel anything but,
And just saying it would not make you feel that way.
You'd say,
I am confident and capable,
And your mind would taunt back,
No I'm not.
That's why I'm stressed.
And so on.
So let's fix it.
All there is to do is to add one of these phrases to the beginning of your affirmation.
The first is,
I am open to.
The second is,
I am ready for.
The third choice is,
I am working on.
And then you add the affirmation.
Let's try it with our example.
I am open to feeling more confident and capable.
Is your mind going to protest?
Probably not.
Yes,
I am open to that.
That would be lovely.
Once your mind accepts that it is open to that possibility,
It will start to imagine how that would feel,
And the affirmation would work to help ease your stress.
I am ready for more confidence and feeling capable.
Yep,
I am really ready for that.
Bring it on,
Universe.
I am here and ready.
When you acknowledge that you're ready,
You're moving in the right direction towards changing your mood away from stress.
Now the third one.
I am working on feeling more confident and capable.
Ah,
Good.
Now you are acknowledging that you are doing something.
You are working on it.
And that is empowering and validating.
Affirmations that work will help to bring your overstressed solar plexus chakra back into balance.
And you can use any of these three.
You don't have to use all of them.
Just pick the one that feels best to you in the moment.
Our next lesson will be about the heart chakra.
I hope you're enjoying this course so far and getting some great ideas for simple ways to balance your chakras.
