In this track, you will learn and practice a tool that will help you weaken the truth of your self-limiting beliefs, and strengthen the way the opposite would feel. This makes the brain accept that there are other possibilities, and therefore, you have the capacity to feel empowered, confident, and capable instead. Making use of this simple and powerful technique can be life-affirming.

This lesson teaches you a tool called belief shifting.

You may have become attached to your belief of not being good enough.

This is a story that has reinforced itself by the mind.

You've done a lot of smart,

Good,

Capable,

And proficient things in your life,

But because of the focus on the not-good-enough belief,

Those things have been given little attention compared with the stories of your mistakes or criticisms you've received.

It's time to shift the belief in the truth of your stories of self-doubt.

First,

You will notice that your self-doubt has a purpose.

Say,

I am the one with self-doubt.

Go ahead and say it.

Now say,

I need this self-doubt because,

And then give a reason.

You might need to think about it for 20 or 30 seconds or so,

But you might come up with a reason like,

I need to have self-doubt because it protects me from taking a risk.

Or,

I need to have this self-doubt because it protects me from possible disappointment or failure.

Let me tell you,

The pain of disappointment or failure feels so powerful that doubting myself and not even trying feels safer.

I'd like you to give your own answer for what this self-doubt is doing for you.

So if you need to pause the audio to identify and say your answer,

That is fine.

I'll be here when you're ready.

As a reminder,

I want you to say,

I need this self-doubt because,

And then fill in an answer.

Okay,

Great.

Now we continue and say,

If I didn't identify as the one with self-doubt,

Then I would feel,

And then you say how you would feel.

So an answer might be,

Maybe,

If I didn't identify as the one with self-doubt,

Then I would feel more capable,

Or I would feel more ready to try new things,

Or I would feel more optimistic and confident.

So pause the audio and you're going to fill in your words for,

If I didn't identify as the one with self-doubt,

Then I would feel,

And say however you would feel.

Okay,

Great.

Now take that answer you came up with and say,

And if I felt,

And then put your answer there,

Then,

And conclude something.

For example,

Maybe I said,

If I didn't identify as the one with self-doubt,

Then I would feel more confident.

And so I'd continue,

And if I felt more confident,

Then I would be more willing to try new and interesting experiences.

If you'd like,

Pause the audio again and continue as I described.

To review,

You're going to take that answer you came up with before and say,

And if I felt,

And say that answer,

Then,

And have a new answer here about what would happen.

So go ahead and do that.

Okay,

Now remember what you just added,

And let's repeat this.

So you're going to say,

And if I,

And say your latest answer here,

Then,

And then conclude what would happen next,

How you would feel,

And continue this way.

So for my example,

I would say,

And if I was more willing to try new and interesting experiences,

I would feel free and fun again.

I'd like to invite you to please pause the audio again and run this exercise a few more times,

Each time getting more into what it might feel like to be this confident version of yourself instead of the one with self-doubt.

Great.

What you'll notice is that the self-doubt belief becomes doubtful.

It weakens because your mind has just gone in depth to imagine itself differently,

More empowered,

More capable and confident.

When there's more than one way to imagine something,

The truth of the other side becomes weaker and the other potential becomes stronger.

The self-doubt starts to waver and fade away.

The more you work with this simple and amazing tool.

Blessings to you.

I loved this practice! Some of my responses were: I am the one with self-doubt because it keeps me connected to others. If I wasn’t the one with self-doubt, I would feel in control of my own destiny. If I felt like I had more control over my own destiny, I would make decisions out of love rather than fear. For me, this made a very clear loop back to the beginning where getting rid of self-doubt would allow me to still feel connected to others, but my relationships would be based upon reciprocal love and equal effort towards a shared vision of our future — not clinging to anyone/everyone out of a fear of loneliness. Thank you! 🙏
