Do you ever lose yourself in a perfect mix of pressure, programming, and people-pleasing - highly functioning, yet quietly struggling to care for your soul? Supported by the transformational power of the African bush and held in the nurturing embrace of Sashwa River of Stars, this women's weekend retreat offers a healing journey back to yourself - an opportunity to release emotional blocks to self-care, reconnect with your true identity and joy, and to reignite and activate your ancestral resources. This retreat also seeks connection to community by empowering others: 100% of Sashwa’s profits support Koru Camp, offering unique wildlife experiences to disadvantaged youth and women in the community.

Sashwa River of Stars is completely plant based. At Sashwa River of Stars, food is more than just nourishment—it is medicine, art, and a path to sustainability. Designed by Chef Arabella Parkinson of Eat to Thrive Consultancy, our food philosophy reflects a deep commitment to personal health and environmental stewardship. Chef Parkinson believes that our relationship with food is vital not only for individual well-being but also for the health of the planet. By crafting dishes that stimulate the senses with minimal environmental impact, we aim to inspire our guests to rethink their connection with food. At the heart of our philosophy lies a Circular Gastronomy approach, where local, seasonal and indigenous ingredients are celebrated and food waste is returned to the ecosystem to regenerate soil, mirroring the natural cycles of the environment. Nourishment with Purpose Each meal at Sashwa Lodge is carefully designed to ground and energize. We prioritize stabilizing blood sugar levels and sustaining energy through diverse plant proteins, whole foods, and high-fiber grains. Our menu is free from processed sugar, refined carbohydrates, and seed oils, ensuring a luxurious food experience that promotes personal health. Made entirely from scratch, our menu focuses on reducing waste and packaging where possible while celebrating a high-end culinary journey.

Schedule

An invitation to un-become Held in the nurturing embrace of Sashwa, you will enjoy a unique opportunity to walk in the wild, connect in community and nourish the body with Sashwa’s exquisite garden-to-table plant-based cuisine. We spend several hours each day out in the bush on both gentle walks & scenic drives. This time is about regulating our nervous system & gathering experiences, not chasing sightings. Exploration in the wild is balanced with group retreat activities including shamanic vision journeys, EMDR trauma-release, fire ceremony & coaching sessions. In between, there is plenty of time to rest & enjoy the beautiful offerings of Sashwa, including yoga & wellness treatments, or to book a private healing session. Crucially, this weekend is all about nourishing you, so you are invited to do as little or as much as you feel.
