This gentle affirmation meditation supports a return to safety — helping the body and mind reconnect with a sense of steadiness after stress, overwhelm, or emotional activation. Inspired by Never Mind Your Mind, this practice offers reassuring self-talk that doesn’t force calm, but allows it to gradually re-emerge. You’re invited to soften out of vigilance and into presence, letting safety be felt rather than demanded. Light emotive music flows beneath the affirmations, supporting nervous system regulation and helping the body recognise that, in this moment, it is safe enough to settle. Helpful for anxiety, stress, emotional regulation, nervous system calming, self-compassion, grounding, mindfulness, and gently finding your way back to safety.

Welcome to this affirmations practice.

You don't need to believe every word you're about to hear,

Just let the affirmations land where they will,

Like soft rain on grass.

Some may feel true,

Some may feel far away.

Can that be okay?

This isn't about forcing belief,

It's about allowing your body and your subconscious to gently absorb whatever brings ease.

Whatever feels kind.

Whatever reminds you that you are not alone.

I am here for me.

I am here with me.

I love the softness behind my closed eyes.

I am my own inner refuge.

I have the capacity for kindness.

I am safe in this moment.

I am held gently by something deeper than fear.

I breathe,

And safety returns.

I am allowed to rest right now.

I am not truly alone in this feeling,

Because others also have felt the same thing.

I am part of a greater human story.

My presence is a companion to myself.

I am allowed to feel what I feel and still be safe.

Right now,

I return to my breath,

The safety of my breath.

Even in uncertainty,

There is a place of calm within me.

I do not need to rush,

I can move at the pace of trust.

I can feel held,

Even by something invisible.

Safety is not the absence of fear,

But the presence of care.

In this pause,

I make room for safety to find me.

I am here for me.

I am here with me.

I love the softness behind my closed eyes.

I am my own inner refuge.

I have the capacity for kindness.

I am here with me.

Hello Reuben, this was such a wonderful meditation. There were some which made me smile because they sounded so familiar to the way I speak to myself when I’m being kind and gentle to myself but all of them don’t come easily to me when I’m feeling depressed. But one of the affirmations is stuck in my head right now- I am my inner refuge. I am going to listen to this offering more often to allow the affirmations to sink into me so that they come to my mind easily when I need to hear them! I’ll never be able to thank you enough Reuben. Forever, Tanusree ❤️💕
